We took our car to Meineke for an oil change. When we picked up the car, we were told that the rear main seal was leaking, which is a costly repair. We took the car to another shop, and we were shown that the leak was coming from a cap on the oil filter. The other shop was able to determine where the leak was coming from in less than 5 minutes and said that it was obvious that the leak could not be coming from the rear main seal. I was concerned that Meineke had made this mistake and wanted to let the management know, so I called and spoke to the manager. He had a negative attitude from the beginning of the call. I told him that I just wanted to let him know about this so that he could possibly prevent it from happening in the future. He argued with me about how the other shop found mistake. I remained polite during the phone call, while he told me that he did 60 oil changes a week and did not need this. He also told me, in an extremely rude and condescending tone, that he was glad that another shop could make me happy. I told him that I was just calling to let him know what happened at which time he told me that he did not need to talk to me anymore. Then he proceeded to hang up on me. In my opinion, he acted in a very unprofessional manner. After this conversation, we learned that the oil cap that was leaking comes attached to the oil filter. There is no way to take it off. Our car was leaking before and after the oil change. I was told that it is extremely unlikely that two oil caps would have a hole in the top causing the car to leak, so I believe that Meineke did not change the oil filter, which we were charged for and is standard on any oil change. I am disheartened about this situation and am extremely disappointed in the actions of this business owner. Unfortunately, this business has given Meineke a dishonest and unprofessional standing in my opinion, and I will not be returning to Meineke in the future.

Scheduled maintenance was back in November of 2012. Problem discovered continuously over the last year until now, when I changed my spark plugs again in June 2014. I usually do general maintenance to my car but due to a broken lift and time constraints in November of 2012, I took it to Meineke to get my spark plugs changed in my 2006 Mazda Rx8. I purchased my spark plugs from an authorized Mazda parts dealer and used standard recommended plugs. Gave them to Meineke to use and they put them in. Almost immediately after service in 2012, I developed an oil leak. Over the course of the last year, Ive taken the car in for multiple issues ranging from severely bad fuel economy, low power, very rough idle, and most importantly, a burning oil smell. They checked and saw an oil leak and told me it was coming from the spark plugs but couldnt tell why. Kind of a "shame on Mazda" moment, but either way, it was documented. Talked to Meineke today and I didnt threaten a thing, just told the manager there was a problem with my service and he got VERY defensive. The real problem with this is, not only am I way out of time frame for when I could have had this issue addressed, but because I drive a rotary engine, the oil leak caused pretty severe damage to the engine. I now need to rebuild my engine, which is about $3800. Meineke wont take even a hint of responsibility for their actions even though I have documented paperwork confirming a problem directly related to the spark plugs immediately following the scheduled maintenance. AVOID THIS PLACE! They do not need your business. They dont know what they are doing and wont take responsibility for their actions.

This place is horrible, it is privately owned by a guy named Mike so its not even Meineke direct where they care about customer service. I called today 8/13/2014 at 12:30 to see about making an appointment for a simple oil change and tire balance as offered on their coupon for 49.95. The hours said 7-6pm and I did not get off until 5pm. Mike the owner, who answered the phone tells me I dont need an appointment and to just come down because they are open until 6. Well I got there at 5:12pm exactly and there was no one there and the door was locked. the guy who runs the shop next door, looked at my coupon and laughed and said they dont even accept these anymore (it states on the coupon printed from the site expires 9/30/2014). This experience was all around bad business I called intentionally because I got off at 5 and it was out of the way to drive there and needed to make sure I could. I really would not refer these people to anyone, if their work is anything like there false advertised hours or prices I would not even want them working on my car. It really is too bad because this town is small and local business owners survive by word of mouth and I have nothing good to say about this particular Meineke or Mike. Not only that 4 other family members who are driving out of town this weekend were all going to use the same place I did becasue the coupon looked like a good deal. I have to say I went right across the street and Big O Tires and they had better prices, were open at 5:30 like they say, and they were very friendly and did an amazing job on my service. DONT GO TO THE MEINEKE OWNED BY MIKE GO TO BIG O ACROSS THE STREET!

Do not go to this place to have oil change. This place doesnt need your business. They dont keep their word, they got real bad attitude; They are bunch of liars. I printed an online oil change coupon. To make sure no surprise, I called them in advance to check if they accepted this coupon and the total price of the oil change. They told me that its going to be around $27. that includes disposal fee, shop supply fee and tax, and "first come, first serve; no appointment needed." I went in the next day. All three bays were empty and there was not even one car or customer. I parked directly in front of the empty bay. One technician came out and told me back out to park at the parking lot. I pulled my vehicle out in front the empty bay, parked at empty parking lot and wondered why? Once I entered the office, they told me that they dont accept the coupon anymore because they couldnt make money. Their oil change price are $29.99, $39.99 and $59.99. now even though the banner hung outside still says oil change starts with $19.99. I was really pissed. Those monkeys lured me in, fooled me, wasted my time. They offered no apology for their intentional misleading. No wonder they got no business at all.

Ive been with Mike and his Meineke shop since 2006, when I was an active duty Marine and stationed in Reno. The car issue I had this time around began over a year ago and instead of taking Mikes advise and having the pros fix my car, I took it upon myself to fix my car. Well after making the problem worse and more costly, I called Mike and he told me to bring my car in and he would do what he can to help me. My car is a Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharger and my Cylinder Head blew. The engine block cracked and Mike, Gary and the rest of the team went to work on my car finding me a well priced engine and putting back together the mess I created. My car is running and I am happy more than I can say. I know for a fact that Mike and his team put in a lot of extra time off the books to make sure my Cobalt was up and running. I recommend them to everyone I know and they never fail me. Tell them J sent you and the best service in town will be given, oh and that happens even if you dont tell them I sent you.. Thank Mike and Gary you guys are master mechanics.
