This is absolutely, without a doubt, the worst post office. 9 times out of 10 they just dont answer the phone. If they do answer by mistake, they quickly hang up. Because of this, I had to drive all the way down there to get a simple question answered. When I expressed my frustration to the manager about not being able to reach anyone on the phone, he acted surprised. Meanwhile, a phone was ringing in the background and nobody answered it. The reason I was calling in the first place is that they appear to have lost my package. It arrive in Reno on a Friday, was sent to the McCabe office on a Saturday and has apparently never been seen again despite the fact that the tracking information shows that its "out for delivery". As of the time of this posting, the package has been in Reno for over a week but cant find its way to my house. Maybe some of the counter people are OK but the management at this office is completely inept and has no concept of customer service. There is no way a private business could be run this poorly and still exist. But, since its a government entity, accountability is not a priority.

The WORST service ever!! Too bad, I still remember time when Steamboat was a wonderful branch. I am still very angry from yesterdays encounter. The tracking number said " In the box. Available for pick up. But its not! And they cannot find it anywhere. The absolute worst part is that lady at the counter, Jenny ( if I remember correctly) - curly ponytail, blank emotionless stare - was RUDE, disrespectful, refusing to help. She just kept saying " I dont know" and " But I dont have it" and she LIED right to my face. Unknown to her I could hear the conversation behind the doors and what was said then is completely different from the lies she told me just 2 minutes later. I wanted to yell "At least pretend that you care!". Called 800 number, the lady on the other end was appalled once she heard the full story and how we were treated. Its not their first mistake - I regularly find other peoples mail in my box, but such carelessness is simply unfair. I think its the end. Have no desire to continue any relationship with this branch.

My granddaughter has lived with us for 6 1/2 years and has always received mail at our home address. For some unknown reason, in December of 2016 and January 2107 the staff at this post office decided to start returning her mail to the sender - this included notices from her school and the school board (3 times), her SSI benefits check (3 times), and her Wells Fargo ATM card (1 time). No one at this Post Office ever contacted us or asked us about her mail, even though we had no problems for 6 1/2 years and every time we stopped the mail, her name was included in the list of household members. I finally paid a personal visit and could get no answers nor any explanation of what happened. I even wrote a letter to the postmaster - no apology, no explanation, no nothing. If there was a reasonable alternative, I would never darken their doorstep again.

The fact that this post office is still open is incredible - they are literally the biggest joke. The man at the office actually tried to argue with me regarding what my address was and INSISTED it was a different street entirely, and then hung up on me. Literally all of my Christmas packages are coming through this post office and so far Ive gotten three notices that things have been delivered in my mailbox with no packages arriving ever.My apartment complex even said that they dont receive packages from this post office because they are so horrible. I live practically across the street from them in South Reno and they still cant get it right. Like I said, when I called to ask where my packages were they argued with me and eventually hung up. If you can have your items delivered to a different address PLEASE DO!!!

The lady I spoke to was awful. I am living at an airbnb for a month while my house is being worked on. The airbnb is listed as vacant and we havent been getting our mail. I went to the post office to ask what my options are. The lady I spoke to seemed annoyed by my presence and wrote me off, saying to come back with a signed lease contract, as the one on my phone wasnt sufficient. I ended up putting a vacation hold on the address when I got home so I could pick up my mail instead of having it returned to sender. The following day, my wife went to the same post office and they politely informed her that there is a rural delivery form that would meet our exact needs. Very disappointed in my experience.

I lost a package a week ago. I was supposed to come in on Monday and its Friday. The package tracker says its still in transit! Are you kidding me?! Then when I call you guys after 50seconds of waiting there is a loud high pitched beep?? This is not the only bad experience Ive had. I tried to switch out my mailbox keys and they held onto my mail for a month without notifying me! I told them to stop the holding and they still continued it for 2 more weeks! How hard is it to change a status of a mailbox?! How hard of it to keep track of one small package, I dont mind if its late but now its completely missing. Come on guys, get your ducks in a row.

3 weeks ago I had an orange certified mail letter in my box. The mail carrier never attempted to bring it to the door for me to sign, she just left it in the box. It has the option to sign for redelivery in 2 business days and guess what....its still in my mailbox. I had my daughter ask why her she hasnt brought back my certified letter and she said she doesnt look that far into the mailbox. Ive made complaints through email and by phone with promises of a supervisor getting in touch with me and it doesnt happen. Not to mention the lost mail I never receive and everyone elses mail I receive.

Outragious and Demeaning to all of us! My mail is lost on the averge of once every three weeks. I receive other peoples mail and packages in my P.O. Box as well. I did not receive my utility statement for the month before? My neighbor got his delivered by someone who had gotten his by mistake! I have talked to my neighbors as well as my post box neighbors, they often have similar stories. This will not be getting better any time soon! Lack of training.

Youre absolutely right, this post office is the worst!! I went on vacation, did the right thing, put my mail on vacation hold as I have a tiny slot in my apartments. Just the rags alone fill up the space. So, guess what, they lost my mail!! The Supervisior, Jeff, said there is nothing I can do!!! Not!! Im going to post this on every social media there is!! Gone is the Christmas cards from my Dad and numerous others!! Damn you USPS, YOUR WORTHLESS!!

This is the worst post office, just close the doors and dont let anybody in, since they are incapable of helping anybody out. Why even have a phone, if you are not going to answer it. Use UPS FEDEX even DHL. they need a NEGATIVE STAR REVIEW, I just put 1 star so I can comment how terrible this place is this place, this place gets -5 stars. Go here if you want service that sucks because these guys are no help at all
