UHAUL will not honor a reservation. Period. I will never forget the hell I went through when I reserved a moving truck from UHAUL in Lowell MA 18 years ago and when I went to pick it up on the morning of my reservation, they unapologetically said they did not have one available. They recognized that I had one reserved, but they simply did not have one for me. Wait, no, they had one right on their lot, the same one I reserved, but they said that particular truck was only for one-way rentals not for local rentals. They refused to let me use it. It is a long story about how much trouble that caused me but suffice it to say it was really bad for me. I swore I would never give UHAUL another dime of my money and used RYDER successfully serveral times since. Go to Ryder if you want to rent a truck Trust me. FAST FORWARD 18 years to last week, I finally gave in and decided to have a hitch installed at UHAUL in Nashua NH (I refused to go back to Lowell). I called and made an appointment. I called on a Monday and they gave me an appointment for that same Friday at 9:00 (Friday after Thanksgiving - my day off). When I dragged myslef and family up to Nashua NH that morning, they said "sorry we do not have that hitch". Again, they recognized that I had a legitimate reservation, but UNAPOLEGETICALLY said that they cant do it. They said that it was a call center in Pheonix AZ that made my reservation. They said that it takes them at least 7 days to get parts in so I should not have accepted an appointment 5 days out. I said "Why are you telling me this? You should be telling the people that answer you phone. They asked if I wanted another appointment and I said no thak you and voted with my feet. Later. Again UHAUL WILL NOT HONOR A RESERVATION AND YOUR BUSINESS MEANS NOTHING TO THEM.

I wish I had read the reviews before scheduling my appointment. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks ago to have a trail hitch put on my car and was told that I would be contacted to schedule the time. I was never contacted and when I called this morning I was told i missed a 7 am appointment. I told them I wasnt told the time and the person on the phone told me that the store got the schedule to late to call me. The woman contacted the store manager and pushed the appointment back to 8:30. I got there at 8 and was told by the gentleman at the counter that I have ruined his day. He complained that I was supposed to be there at 7 and that I was inconveniencing him. I politely tried to tell him that I wasnt contacted to schedule a time. He repeated that I was being an inconvenience to him. At that point I was livid and pointed out that it is not my problem that an appointed was scheduled and I wasnt notified. He again blamed me for not being on time. I have seen bad customer service but this was the worst and from what I see here, and other places online, is typical with this store and uhaul in general. I contacted customer service and lodged a complaint and am working on getting my deposit back. I will never deal with U-Haul again if I can help it.

Terrible customer service. Its been such an ordeal just to get a basic price quote about my U-Box. I just need to know how much it would cost to deliver the box to my new apartment. Heres how my calls with them went: 1. I called in, asked about the U-Box, got "transferred" (hung up on). 2. I called back, talked to someone who said shed call me back in 30mins. 3. Over an hour passed. I called them back, got "transferred" again (hung up on). 4. I called back, got the number they were trying to transfer me to, and called it. 5. Talked to a lady at the other location, she gave me another number to call (the original one I had been calling!). 6. Talked with the original location again. He had to give the phone to someone whos "more experienced with this"... it was a girl who said shed never done this before. She said "Ill call you back tonight from my house; Ill figure it out after work with my manager"... that was weird. I told her its fine to just call back tomorrow at work. A couple of these people were rude on the phone too, like talking to customers really annoyed them. Overall, its very disappointing that it takes over a day just to give me this simple price quote. I dont live far from this location, and I just want to get this box to my house :(

UPDATE I FINALLY got a very apologetic email from the GM of the So. Nashua U-Haul last night (7/12). He is giving us a generous refund and asked if there was anything further he could do. So he has done what he could to make things right. Adding a star as he did provide a partial refund. Abysmal!! Go elsewhere!! Made reservation online for a 17 truck and a storage unit with a move in date of Sunday, 6/28. We were supposed to pick up the truck Saturday, 6/27 and return it Sunday, 6/28 and store the items in the store unit. I got an email confirming both when I made the reservation. Friday, I get an email confirming a 20 truck for 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Saturday. I called and the Regional Manager (located in North Mass - explains a lot) blamed me for making the reservation late in the month. Finally got a truck in Manchester, Loaded things up and called to doubly confirm the storage unit. I was told everything was all set. Got there and while the reservation was in the system, there was someone else in the unit - theyd moved in on Thursday. I email the full story to U-haul HQ on Monday, 6/29 and have not heard a word. Go elsewhere if you possible can.

I had the most difficult time with this place that I have ever had with any business. I scheduled with them to have a hitch installed on my car three times, went there for my appointment, and every time was declined with the excuse that they were not able to do it. The first time was because the part was not in yet (even though they scheduled the installation), with the second and third times due to scheduling issues between the customer service center and the UHAUL in Nashua (Daniel Webster HWY). How does a company survive with such poor customer service? I ended up getting my deposit back and will go elsewhere. After this experience Ill never use UHAUL again for any services.

I made an appointment to have a hitch installed at this location. A few hours later I received a call from UHaul canceling that appointment and asking me to reschedule 3 days later. I told him Id get back to him. I found an appointment for the original day at another UHaul location and when I called the Nashua location back to let them know I wouldnt need to reschedule they said Id be charged a $50 cancelation fee EVEN THOUGH THEY CANCELED ON ME! It took speaking with 6 different UHaul representatives at a variety of offices (2 at the Nashua store!) to get it resolved.
