ABOVE AND BEYOND!! Two years ago I moved to NJ. At that time I was 90 pounds heavier and I had no friends and a few relatives nearby. When I joined Planet Fitness I did not expect to have such a wonderful experience. I found a support system in the employees and management team. They are super encouraging and motivating. I actually looked forward to working out! The entire experience is invaluable, from the moment I walk in I am greeted with smiles and friendly associates. For example, the manager Miss Dreamy greets the guest by their names and she is familiar with all of the patrons. She always has pure positive energy that I look forward to each and every time I visit. The assistant manager Edwin is always busy at work and yet he still manages to help explain how to properly use the equipment. Usually when I workout I am encouraged by the associate Tanaja to learn about the various products and offers provided by Planet Fitness. Tahiem is another gentleman who works there, his energy is contagious and he keeps visitors updated on the special events at the gym, such as my personal favorite Pizza Day! I cannot forget to mention Edriece, he always has a calm and positive spirit about himself. The trainers there are knowledgable and provide all guest with unique workout plans that helps us achieve our personal fitness goals. Today, I am in the best health Ive ever been in, both mentally and physically. I am an educator and teaching can be quite draining, but I found an outlet at Planet Fitness. I have new friends and Ive encouraged my family to join Planet Fitness! I love this place and I especially enjoy the team of professionals! East Orange Planet Fitness is by far the best gym Ive ever committed to. Thank you!

The reason that I am eating them for is because they are rude, disrespectful, and uncourteous.A relative died so I have to travel. I told them I am very caught up and can not go in person to cancel the policy. It was also not feasible for me to send a letter. I called them three times today. The first time I was put on hold as a respresentative went to looks for the corporate number. It was 10 mins and I was still on hold. I hung up and called again a few mins later. Got the same rep. Again he placed me on hold. 5 mins in I hung up. I found the corporate number on my lonesome. the corporate rep nor the supervisor were of any assistance. It seemed as though they just care about clinets losing their money instead of assisting them. I called the location a third time here this rep ( possibly the same rep) was simply rude throughout the call and ended up hanging up on me. Going in person took me 1 min inside the actual location to cancel however upwards of an HR in transit simply to cancel my membership. AGAIN THEY ARE NOT HERE TO HELP YOU. Simply to take your money. Location itself is very packed even at odd times. I have never had an issue with the people there or weights. This location is the larger of the two Ive been at. You can often see cop car outside in the lot for better or for worse. I wouldnt waste my money on the black membership unless someone is going to consistently go with you and pay for half of it.

First, d like to say that I am very happy Planet Fitness has opened in this area. However, I have noticed some things that may deter future members from visiting. This location seems to be the nightly hangout! So, for all my after hours gym people, this may not be for you. There are groups of younger people that meet up here just to sit in the Ab workout room and they are loud. All you hear is them laughing and joking. I mean to each his own but, if I hear you all over my earphones, no bueno. Also, if everyone is just sitting on the machines during this gathering, this is discourteous to people wanting to use. I am on a journey to become healthier and the gym is where I go to focus and put in work. No distractions NEEDED! ~ With slight changes with the atmosphere this could be a GREAT GYM!!

Staff is courteous and friendly. I am a black card holder and like the flexibility of attending gyms nationwide. I havent had any major issues as I am there to work out but here lately I have noticed that a few of the treadmills need maintenance and are stopping in the middle of workouts with error messages and I also notice that sometimes the towel dispensers are empty and you have to hunt down one in order to wipe down a machine which interrupts and adds time to my normal workout. I have reported both issues to the desk staff. As an aside, I attended a Planet Fitness in Jacksonville, FL recently and we need to step it up here in Jersey, the machines were new and immaculately maintained and the staff and trainers were legion.

Its a very good gym. Spacious and clean. Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals. Black card members get additional free access to the massage chairs, hydromassage beds, and their tanning booths. My only knocks are that they need more 45 lbs plates. I like to leg press over 600 lbs and I have trouble gathering more than 450 lbs for the machine. When other members are using them for squats and the bench press it spreads the supply of 45 lbs plates thin. So they need a lot more to significantly cover all machines that require plates for resistance training. Also Id like for them to add an inclined row machine in there as well. I like the gym as it is but if they make those adjustments I think Id be a member for life.

Staff are rude. Facilities are clean. They said that I didnt pay my dues for the month but they debit my account every month. I was told to bring my bank statement to the gym so that I could speak to a manager. Well, every time I come, like literally every time, whether it be in the morning, evening, afternoon or at night, THERE. IS. NO. MANAGER. EVER. Finally, I just got tired and said that I wanted to speak to corporate and surprise surprise, the woman didnt have their number. So I guess I will be fishing all over Google for one so that I can get my money back. WORST GYM EVER!!!!!

I have to say, its great to have a planet fitness in East Orange. Of all places. Right? it kinda had me wondering, why this location, An old Plaza that only had a laundry and an oil change, there. plus not much foot traffic at this area. but hey, im sure they know what they are doing, once going through the door its really huge. everything is there.staff is nice, clean restrooms. my only con, is that the spray bottles need better locations through out the gym. After a use of a machine I would have to walk a a Bit find one... would be heading back.

For the most part, I enjoy PF. There are spurts when its too crowded like any gym. My only real complaint is the circuit room. Members stay on the machine they want for too long and dont respect the members that are trying to use the room as it was intended. There are also members that use these machines as seats to socialize and the staff does nothing to discourage them. Who wants to run back and forth to the front desk being a tattle tale? The staff needs to spend more time being observant and aware of the gyms current needs.
