These people are the most inconsiderate people i know , when you sign up for anything there are always ways to cancel your membership , i moved 18 miles away from their Linden location and wanted to cancel my membership and they told me to send a letter with proof of my new address and everything , which i did . a month later i ended up getting charged in my card which they are only supposed to keep your card on file because i was always paying cash , they ended up charging my card for both me and my husbands "monthly dues" remind you i had already moved so they were just charging me to charge , i called them and spoke to the manager and said "oh well your membership is not cancelled so if you come or not you still owe us the month" ? WHAT? i then proceeded to call my card company and asked them to block them from taking any money from my account , i already send the membership cancellation request TWICE so how is it possible that my membership is not yet cancelled ???? I spoke with the manager personally to see if they can help me resolve this issue and they told me "there was nothing they could do about it" and wanted to charge me $942 to cancel so im like HELL NO im not going to pay $942 to cancel when on my contract it clearly states if i move 15+ miles i can cancel without any fees .. ok so i guess they send my account into collection and now i have these collectors calling me harassing me , i already explained to them i moved 18 miles away theres no way your charging me $942 total for the membership which i tried cancelling due to moving , on my contract it clearly says there will be no charge if you move 15+ miles away so ??? they do not work with you and dont care if it affect you or not since its not them , DONT GO HERE and definitely DO NOT SIGN UP !! they are rip offs !

I am going to give just one start because it it the lowest I can give this gym. I join this gym and I was going for about two years. When I decide to cancel my membership, it was impossible. They told me to send a letter to cancel which I did and still they were charging me. I sent three letters to the Linden location and they told me that they never received the letter. I sent two letters to the headquaters again my membership was never cancel. People when you joint a gym and if you want to cancer, it should be the most easy process not like this gym. It is a joke. Before you sign in, there better gyms, that it is so easy to cancel like (BLINK, planet fitness, 24 hours fitness). Please I highly recommend you DO NOT SIGN IN with this gym. if you want to cancel it is going to be a nightmare. It does not matter how many letters you send them. Customers go to a gym that it is so easy to cancel. please DO NOT SIGN any membership. I have the worst experience. even when I talked with the manager.

Have very few words, machines are always broken, they look run down and used prior (especially when they get "new equipment", also when it is "fixed"I usually see something tapped down for the time being), atmosphere suck, trainer are most likely not certified (from prior experience, dont know if they changed this rule, Ive had to correct a trainer while training a elder couple. He was not paying attention and needless to say they could of hurt themselves the way they were instructed to use the machine), Ive been a member for about 3 years now and I guess they decided to bump up my monthly payment without reaching out first to tell me why, the water! Oh the water! Anytime I drink from the fountain I get sick (DO NOT DRINK), the room for all the classes is always leaking when it rains, matter of fact the whole gym is always leaking, overall its time for a new gym.

The staff: Unreliable, unprofessional, and incompetent. Those who work the front have no idea how to make half the shakes on display. I have yet to enjoy a consistent shake with the same taste/form after a year and a half of attending PH. The staff is more concerned with socializing than attending to customer needs. In particular: Josh. Staff will give their friends free Gatorade. Staff working the front desk phone will put callers on hold then purposely end the call in hopes that the caller will not call back. The crowd: Random children can be found running around the gym and attempting to use the equipment. No one says anything. Literally had a 7 year old use the crunch machine next to me and violently counted to 34 in Spanish. Josh and Valentina are horrible employees.

I recently moved to Linden, NJ, would like to attend a local gym that I do not become disappointed with after 3 months in and stuck with a membership that must be honored. I also do not entertain the fast talk to persuade a client the facility and trainers with actions speaks for themselves; in other words the over selling. Staff is okay, but dont leave messages as responses are not guaranteed. In any event I was only able to attend one class, which was good and I believe it was a Pilates class. ALWAYS BROKEN MACHINERY! Womens bathroom is gross. The staff could care less about its clients. I tried cancelling my account due to health issues 5 times with doctor notes, sent a letter and everything and they NEVER canceled my account. In term, I now find out they continued to charge me? The management there is never available or maybe the employees just refuse to inform them. Now I have debt collectors calling my phone, for WHAT? I have not been there in over a year and theyre STILL charging me. TERRIBLE GYM.

Im really happy not to be a member anymore! My experience was terrible, the management they have running this place is unprofessional. If you ever want to cancel your membership I suggest you personally show up to the gym and SIT AND WAIT or else no one will get back to you. You can call, email, mail them as much as you want BUT THAT WONT WORK....this is a great way to avoid them from taking your money :) go to a better gym! Good luck!!

Be extremely careful when make any deals or arragements, keep copies of any document you sign, they have to provide you those (is the law). 1 year after ending contract and signing documents, they are still taking the money from the bank. Confirm any verbal communications via email so you have proof of it. Obviously they wont confirm anything that is against their interests.

I really like this gym, staff members are very kind and and never had a problem, inhave a 3 year contract and this is my second year. What i love about this gym is that i only have to pay $27. And change and the class and daycare is included. My daughter and son loveee the daycare, and there are sooo many classes which i love!!!! Highly recommend POWERHOUSE GYM LINDEN NJ.
