U-haul Edison is not poor- fair. They are deplorable. I had decided to move from New Jersey to Los Angeles and should have read a review or two first. I ordered a U-Box on the 18th of june for delivery that friday. No one ever called to confirm the order, so I assumed it would be there that morning as I requested. I waited until 5:00 pm for it to get to my home and i wasted a whole day. The manager told me to call her personal cell # to schedule a pick up. She never answered my call. I was to leave that sunday. I had to leave the box on the property and hope they would pick it up...that wednesday they finally came(my initial request was the saturday after they had dropped it off to my house). I had called the corporate head quarters too. They had told me the regional manager would get back to me. A week later I am still waiting for that call, and the manager from the Edison location too. The customer service rep even gave me the wrong number for the corporate offices in Phoenix So, in addition to all this nonsense, my account wasnt to be charged until the box was on the truck. They had charged me 6 days ago, and it was just put on the truck today. I only have the box for a month, and now it has been 2 weeks and it will take an estimated 12 days to get to LA. Thats 24 days my life will be locked up. WORST DECISION OF ALL TIME!!! If you have any other option to ship your belongings dont choose U-haul. I cant imagine you will have a pleasant experience.

I do not necessarily have a complaint with this location, they did nothing wrong. I have a problem with Uhauls change of location policy. The night before I was supposed to move (after all other moving places were closed), they left me a voicemail changing my location to Edison New Jersey. This made my trip 4 miles (where i was supposed to get the truck) round trip, to 36 miles round trip. The DID NOT comp me the gas and miles extra that i had to eat because I had no choice. All I asked from Uhaul was to pay the difference in miles that I now had to pay (approximately 30 dollars). And they wouldnt do it. It felt as if they went out of their way to make sure that I had no other choice by waiting as late as they did to notify me, so that I couldnt go anywhere else. I will NOT use Uhaul ever again, and I will go out of my way to discourage others from using them as well. All of it could have been prevented if they were just willing to pay the miles difference that I unfairly had to absorb.

I rented 5 U-Boxes from this site. They were very happy to take my money, set up me with a rental contract and send the boxes. Thats when things went bad. When I called to re-deliver my boxes with all of my possessions - the company refused to take or return my calls for a week. UHaul corporate had to file a complaint just to get them to contact me. The same happened when I requested that they take the boxes off of my property - they refused to return my calls and pick up the boxes for 2 weeks, and kept charging me more and more rent and "late fees." I spent multiple hours on the phone with national customer service to get things right. Moving is hard enough without having to deal with UHaul Edison. This is probably the most disorganized, crooked, unresponsive, and uncaring business Ive ever come in contact with. Thats saying quite a lot. AVOID.

I had the worst experience renting a trailer from this business and would like to help others avoid my experience. First, I was called the day before my move to be told that my reservation for a trailer could not be fulfilled, but that they would give me a smaller trailer. While returning the trailer, I got stuck in traffic and was a little late to get back. They tacked on a $50 late fee - which I was never warned about up-front - and then proceeded to tax the late fee for "cleaning services", which isnt even legal. I would recommend avoiding this U-Haul (and from talking to others, U-Haul in general) if at all possible. They are simply not in the customer service industry.

This place is terribly dissatisfying.... i was 7 mins late from dropping off a uhaul that i was originally told was at another location but was in edison. I get here theres a short guy here being very short with me. He argued me down abour a dolly that he claimed wasnt in the truck and of course it was in the truck. I have a seat and then got up and asked to get the key for the rest room and he AGAIN pointed at the guy at the counter and said hell get it. Now im upset. So as im walking to the counter this short guy says something racially inappropriate to a white customer and they both chuckled. I would never rent from uhaul in edison ever again.

The Very bad experience i had with the uhal u box. I got my appointment conformation to land the u box and when I went there they said there is no ubox empty here, on top to that the representative is helping other customers even though my issue was not resolved. He didnt even bothered to give an alternative. Very disappointed and disgusting. We finally ended up in calling the service center and got the things resolved by transferring our request to another uhal center in midtown.

The service was great. They was very nice and never gave the expression like if you was unhappy. They treated as with kind and help us with all our needs. We rented a truck but when we receive it. It was to big. With no problem they kindly exchange it to the one we needed. Best experience and great price. Definitely recommend this place.

Update - uhaul later apologized and offered me a refund ! Had an awful experience at the Edison UHaul location. They called me in the last minute to move my reservation to a different location in East Brunswick and the central office wouldnt reimburse for the additional miles travelled. Do not reserve at this location online !

Truck was dirty and I found bed bugs in my boxes after the move. It may have come from the truck. The wood in the truck looked worn and used and I dont know how well they clean the trucks in between uses. After this experience I dont trust moving trucks especially in the NY/NJ area. I wont be renting ever again.

I used this U Haul center for a move from New Brunswick up to Jersey City with a 10 truck. Had no issues with the service, it was fast and effiicient. The truck was in decent shape. They were also quite accommodating in changing my reservation time with short notice.

These guys are awesome, i installed a towing hitch by myself and when something did not work out properly i went to them and they fixed it for free...had very good experiences in the past as well. Always a hassle free place to rent from.

They change the drop off location after I load the truck, and they always forgot the put the dolly but didnt forget to charge it. now drop off location is asking for dolly and Im waiting here them to call me back. This is just terrible
