Like Kenny, I was a little in doubt about using them in the beginning due to the less than desirable reviews. I received four different estimates for my move to Atlanta for the reason of being closer to my kids and grandchildren. At 73, I take a regiment of medications for my blood pressure, diabetes, etc. Usually when I travel I always take a supply equal to double the amount of my planned trip. Affordable Moving was my first estimate and gave me a time frame of 9 to 11 days from pickup to delivery. Of course I was hoping to hear 3 to 4 days but he was firm on the time. As I continued to receive quotes, each company would beat the other not only in price but in time of arrival. I found this to be a little suspicious due to the fact that they all started around the 10 day figure and then came down. The sales manager Mike called me back twice and left a message for me to call him back. Initially I thought, maybe he will tell me that his company will be able to deliver my belonging the SAME DAY!! Much to my surprise, he stood firm on the 9 - 11 day delivery time. Explaining that unless a company is in business to lose money it is financially inconceivable to send a half filled truck that far from New Jersey without being a full load. He said once your stuff is on the truck, you are at the mercy of the moving company and their ability to book another move going that way. He also emphasized to me when I mentioned I had to call him back because I had to eat and take my medication that I should pack an additional box with enough medication for at least 15 days even though I was told as little as 3 days by some companies. Even at the cost of losing a potential customer he stayed firm on the date and said if we can get it there sooner we will but it is better to prepare for 11 days. His estimate was a very competitive price as he said they are trying to rebuild after many years of bad management. I decided to go with them and they came on the scheduled pickup day. All of my furniture was handled with care. I have some pieces of furniture that are collectibles and they were all padded and stowed in the truck properly. The moving guys were all well-mannered and one of them even bought me lunch when he went out to get lunch for the rest of the crew. Unfortunately, I dont eat McDonalds anymore but it was a nice gesture. What I really want to thank the staff over there for is helping me when our car broke down in North Carolina. An old friend drove down with me to Atlanta and about 60 miles north of Charlotte, his car started overheating so we pulled over on the side of the road. I have never been mechanically inclined, either has my friend. I am not very good at searching the internet on these modern day cell phones. They look more like a cockpit panel of the airplanes I worked on when I was in the service as a young man. Accidently, I hit my redial button and ended up calling Affordable instead of my daughter. When I told the agent I had misdialed and that I was actually trying to get in touch with my daughter because we were broke down on the road and we needed to find a tow truck, he insisted on finding something for me and making sure that I would be okay. While I was on the phone, he three way called a couple local towing companies in the area I was in and got the one with the best price and fastest response. 45 minutes later the truck arrived and towed us back to their shop. They replaced the water pump that day and we were back on the road the following morning. My items were delivered on day 10, unloaded and placed in the appropriate rooms in my apartment. I even received a Dominoes gift card that I cant use but my grandkids will surely enjoy it. Not only did I receive great service from an honest company but I gained a friend as well. Everybody deserves a second chance, I am glad I booked with your company. Keep up the good work guys, the cream always rises to the top!

WARNING: IF YOU USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR LONG DISTANCE MOVE, YOU WILL REGRET THE DAY YOU CALLED THEM!!! I am a professional photographer, who used this scam operation to relocate my entire studio from NYC to Atlanta, Georgia. Through an equally bogus company called, "Alliance Moving Services," they promised my entire move would arrive on time for me to accommodate all of my new Atlanta clients, pre-booked weeks in advance of my arrival. Today its October the 14th and my worldly possessions have never even arrived. The manager, "Anton has been systematically avoiding my calls, and I am writing this review on my iPad, sitting on the bare floor where I have been sleeping for the past seven days. I had to cancel all eighteen of my first, vital business appointments here, nearly damaging my business beyond repair. And thats the GOOD news... When Anton (or "Anthony") ignored my twenty desperate phone calls for assistance, I was forced to contact the NYPD Fraud Department, where I talked the Lt. Gutic, who personally called this individual on my behalf. Evidently, with the help of the combined resources of New Yorks Finest, I finally got a delivery date, after living like a homeless man for over a week. Without the assistance of this detective, I would have been living in this condition for a FULL MONTH, the "fine print" of which their so-called customer service representative at Alliance Moving Services, Vanessa, had the temerity to point out to me. Once this horrible ordeal is over, I plan to move forward without delay with my lawsuit against "Always Affordable Moving & Storage" for punitive damages, unethical business practices, non-disclosure of vital information, and false advertsing, following this with a formal complaint to the Department of Consumer Affairs, the DA of New York, The BBB, and any other consumer protection agency I can think of. May I also warn you that any of the "Five Star" reviews you read about this company are probably either false reviews by shills and employees, deliberate attempts to mitigate all of the other scathing "One Star" reviews that contain the actual details of each individuals actual experiences with this bogus company, in all probability simply a front for the Russian mob, sadly endemic to the entire Northwest corridor. My actual name is listed above, and I will be happy to provide all of the names, dates, times, and contact numbers from all the individuals who have lied, defrauded, and openly deceived me, and nearly destroyed my first days in this lovely city of Atlanta. For as much as I will miss my many friends and customers in New York, there is a much darker side to NYC, of which this flim-flam operation is a clearly a part. Youve been warned.

The sales person (Cal) was responsive and easy to work with before the move, and the moving crew was friendly and very hard working. We hired them to pack, and to move. They packed our Amish Furniture dining room table and chair (6). Dispatch sent them up with too small a truck, and 1 day late. In order to fit all of our furniture on the truck, they had to load ¾ of it on the truck, then make another local delivery (also a day late), then come back after we were gone and get the rest. Terrible planning at Always Affordable Moving And Storage. This was their only stop between VT and SC (our new home). After the crew had emptied the truck in SC, and we started to unpack everything, we realized that one of our dining room chairs was missing. We called and left three messages over three days for Cal (our contact) to ask about our chair. NO RESPONSE. Finally we reached him and he said he would check and get back to us. We waited 10 days without hearing anything. We finally called the main office and got the run-around from Boris Lakham, the owner (He gave his own company a 5 star review!!), who was actually very HOSTILE. He told us that they did check for our chair and that Cal did call us back (again, no response from anyone). A month later we called again. We asked if they checked that one stop en route and we got only evasive answers and were told they were too busy to look it up. When we continued to try to get answers. Boris, the owner (who wrote his own 5 star review) accused us of being prejudiced against Russians! (Where did that come from? We had a Russian moving crew that we tipped and thought they were very friendly and worked their butts off.) We paid this company extra to pack for us in VT, so we expect them to be responsible for the contents. A month later, still nothing. We called Always Affordable Moving And Storage again, got a lady in the office, she took our claim over the phone. Beware, buying the extra insurance is simply lost money. Our refund would have been by weight, $12.60 for a $300 chair. They wont even file the darn claim. 3 months later, still NO RESPONSE. AVOID THESE GUYS. We did our next move ourselves, got a container dropped off for a week, hired guys on both ends to load it. Saved $3,000 in comparison, everything got moved with zero problems.
