I am very HAPPY that we went with Wade Odell Wade to move within New Jersey, would heartily recommend them and heres a summary of our experience. I had heard not so nice stories about movers and was initially sceptical. While Wades price range while not the most economical, they came in at around 60 percentile of the 8-10 quotes that I had received from others. There were others who quoted less, some of them called back a day later to increase their price, they were wishy washy and I decided not to use them as I felt uncomfortable. Just remember that whatever price is quoted is just an estimate and your actual price may vary depending on the time spent. The question is how accurate a certain mover is for their quote. Right from giving us a quote (Salesperson - Jim) for a traditional 4 BR Single family home, everything went off well. Jim suggested a few options to help the move. He also gave us a few suggestions that would make the move a little more efficient and a little more economical to us if were to take care of certain very fragile stuff we had if we were to move it ourselves. On the day of the move, Matt and his crew (as promised a total of 5) arrived at the given time, picked up all the boxes that we had packed, dismantled the heavy furniture, neatly packed almost all of them and packed every square inch of the truck that they had come with. I had patio furniture, a riding mower, snow blower, generator and some garden equipment which was packed as well. 100% of truck space was utilized. I wish I had taken a photograph to prove this. They laid mats (hard cardboard) at our new place, placed all the boxes in the rooms where we had labelled each box. They unpacked and assembled all the furniture that they had initially dis-assembled (I had disassembled a few myself and they simply delivered them). This was some heavy furniture that needed to go to the second floor up a stair way and what impressed me was the care that they took not to damage the furniture or the place. AT the end of the day, they held themselves to the quote that they had given and in fact came a little under what they had anticipated. I could not have been more happier. They were near PERFECT! 5 Stars it is!

This move was a disaster in the making from the beginning. I must explain that my husband of forty-four years had died two weeks before, and we were moving from our NYC apartment, three storage rooms in NJ, and my husbands office in NYC. We were also donating an enormous amount of clothing, books and furniture, so I was not at my best, but was better then most. Chris, their estimator was sloppy, to be kind. All crates for mirrors and paintings were the wrong size. We were on one truck going to CA, and one to Co. The cost for all pick-ups, deliveries, and moves to two states was $25,000. Not a small number. We had a full value agreement, which meant we had replacement insurance on the load. Maritza at Wade ODell explained to me that the insurance would only cover breakage of fragile items packed by the company, so we had them pack all breakables. What she, and no other person involved in our move, five days of packing, did not tell me, was that I needed to itemize every single piece in excess of one-hundred dollars in order for the insurance to be in effect. I was told by a person at the United Van Lines insurance arm that they would only pay one hundred dollars per pound because I did not itemize our belongings, which leads me to the problem: united has refused to pay one dollar for those items that were stolen from their vaunted warehouse attached to their offices. A glass desk top was taken, as well a a carton marked purses. I paid $475 to replace the glass top. The purses were valued at more then $15,000. They will not speak to me. They will not pay even the minimum on the losses. They damaged our best pieces, arrived on the last day before they would need to pay us for being late, and all in all, were an enormous disappointment. Their insurance is a scam. They are barely competent, and certainly dishonest. If possible, I would give them minus stars, but unfortunately, thats not possible. Go anywhere else, but do avoid Wade ODell.

Awful experience! I had used United Van Lines in 2010/2011 to move from NY to LA and then back to NY and had a great experience, however thats because I didnt use Wade Odell Wade. This time around, I was moving to MN and for whatever reason the local outfit I had previously used was not available. So long story short, WOW showed up 5 hours late on the pick up day putting us in a time crunch from the get go. The movers who came were okay, except for the fact they stole stuff from my garage and I also caught one of them riding my bike aggressively instead of walking it to the truck. They were just generally rough with all of our stuff too. Well they left with all of our stuff and we were thinking it was heading to MN the next day based upon what was originally explained to us by Lauren in the main office. That was not the case and it didnt leave for another 4 days because of some BS error on their side where they didnt plan the loads right. Not only had we been confirmed for 6 weeks but youre a logistics company who cant figure out how to plan and load trucks?!! I personally think they didnt have a truck from day 1 and Lauren in their office was lying the entire time. So instead of our stuff being put on a different truck, they sent it to MN on a train! Now its scheduled to arrive literally the last day that it was contracted and thats all they continue to hide behind, saying theyre within the contract. 15 days to deliver to MN is just ridiculous and they should be embarrassed. If you are able to find a different local outfit to handle your united Van Lines shipment, I highly recommend it. If WOW is the only one available, look into using a different carrier altogether. Well see if its a better on this end. Considering it has nothing to do with WOW, I expect a much better experience unloading in MN.

I was moving from new Jersey to Long Island, it was kind of stressful since I was going to move into my parents house after the sale of my home and before I started looking for another one, I didnt have an estimated time that I would take my stuff out of storage, this was absolutely not a problem, everything was explained to me and all listed on the paperwork. On the day of the move not only did the guys on Eddy D.s team pack my stuff like it was their own they were also concerned for me as I had thrown my back out the night before the move. They were such nice men. They packed it so well not a single thing was damaged when I finally brought a house and had it delivered. The delivery guys were good too, dont get me wrong, but packing it made all the difference. Thank you Eddy and your team. Everything had a number label and everything was accounted for on delivery, also the office was easy to call, always got a person to speak to. I would use again in a heart beat and recommend them to anyone. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!!!
