Director of daycare was very unprofessional. A few days prior to the start date for my child, I called because I had a few questions about the bill. Long story short, because I inquired about the bill, the director stated she felt she needed to give her opinion on what she thought I was thinking. She stated She felt I was hesitant and did not want to enroll my child there. Mind you, why would I fill out the registration packet, drop it off with a personal check in hand ready to pay two weeks prior. She came to her conclusion alI because I asked about the charges for my child, as it was my first bill and I wanted to comprehend the charges made. I dont think that is unreasonable. Then she continues to state "this is a business she is running and if I dont want my son to be enrolled there I need to let her know." Once again, I said nothing to indicate I was confused or did not want my child enrolled. I am glad she was as open as she was prior to my child going there. She stated she worked as a preschool teacher for 13 years; unfortunately some people are not meant to be leaders, directors and such. At the end of the conversation, shocked and appalled, I informed her that I would like to know the cancellation policy. After conversation with my husband about the directors behavior, I cancelled. Imagine if I had my child going there and something happened, my concern is how would the director react if she could even handle a simple inquiry about a bill. Anyway, it all worked out in the end, dodged a bullet!

The YMCA in Hackensack is run very nicely and is located inside a beautiful, well-kept building at the corner of Main and Passaic streets. If you have typical children, this facility seems wonderful; It offers swimming, martial arts, art and dance classes. Unfortunately, if your children have special needs, theres nothing available. I wish I lived in a rich town so my child could participate in swim, dance and other types of classes suited for special needs kids. I have to go to Tenafly for such things.

Y at Hackensack is clean and well maintained. You will see lots of kids and parents running after them. Pool is well kept and staff is very co-operative. Gym is old, some of the instruments needs maintenance. I go there for swimming only so i do not have lot of complaints for gym.

My family has been going to the YMCA in Hackensack, NJ for about 24 years! Both my girls attend the summer camp at Harrington State Park. The stories they have told the family at the dinner table still make us laugh and we have heard then all or so we think

Horrible staff. Greedy for money. Even the executives are least concerned about your grievances.
