I agree with the others, DONT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS GYM. They are scam artists. After my 2 year contract with them ended, they continued to bill me. They said I would have to be billed for another 2 months from the date that I send them a certified letter requesting they cancel my membership. Then since one of the 2 months was January, I was also charged their yearly $25 fee (which I was never even aware they charged a yearly fee) which they refused to refund. This gym is so filthy anyway, for what they charge for membership, there are so many other gyms in the area that are much cleaner, have newer equipment and better classes. I wouldnt go back to this gym if they paid me, so not worth the money. For that I would say get a good eliptical and stay home, thats what I doing.

Go somewhere else. Read the fine print in the contract before you sign...if you sign. Make sure you personally go in and terminate your membership if you do not wish to continue going. You get no warning before they increase your rate and begin charging your account without updated authorization. Their unprofessional way of canceling your membership and still charging you for next month is sick. Write a statement on computer paper and wait 60 days for cancellation.

You should really read contracts before signing them...it clearly states in the contract, and YOU as a consumer, initial AND sign, right where it clearly states there is an automatic renewal, and a club enhancement fee. Dont be mad because you werent smart enough to read what you signed. The classes are fantastic in Oakland, the people are nice, and the gym equipment is brand new and in perfect condition, so you should really get your eyes checked! =)

Do NOT waste your money there. Go elsewhere before these greedy people empty your pocket and send you unexpected bills according to the very unfair contract fine prints you never read and they did not mention it to you before signing it! Sad.

The 60 day cancellation fee was not in my contract that i signed 15 years ago. Neither was the $10 fee for lost card. I am very sad to leave friends over the last decade and half - but their billing has been quite deceptive.
