In my opinion, it’s MUCH better than LA Fitness in Secaucus! It’s not a real fancy gym. It’s more of the average Joe type of gym, but it’s got pretty much everything you need in three floors. I’m used to the not-so-fancy-average-Joe type gyms anyway since I’ve been going to these types of gym all my life, so I really like the environment/atmosphere there. I usually get there after work hours between 5:30-6PM and there’s always several treadmills open and I can do my workouts without waiting for a machine/not being so crowded. I hear it does get busy around 7ish, but I’m usually gone by then. I’ve been going there for a week so far and I’ve noticed people come by themselves and not in big packs like at LA Fitness. People actually work out here instead of just sitting, hogging several machines talking to their huge group of friends. The people also don’t glare at you as you walk by making you feel very uncomfortable (also got that a lot at LA Fitness. Can you tell I REALLY hate that gym now?). The staff here are friendly and I always get greeted when I come in and leave. They also make free smoothie samples at the juice bar and they’re delicious! So, overall a great gym, good atmosphere, cool people (so far!), friendly staff, equipment is in great condition, GREAT prices! ***Edit!!!*** My birthday is this Friday and I got a free smoothie card from them in the mail!!! LA Sh*tness in Seacacus never did that to me. It shows how much Fitness Factory actually cares about their members.

Gym is ok. Nothing fancy. You have to bring your own towels. They can do better with the bathrooms and sauna. Not appealing at all. They change the class schedule too often because of instructors unavailability. Instead of looking for one to replace, they cancel or put another class in place. So members have to change the work out schedule n adjust to the gyms mismanagement. Now they decided to remove the cycling/spinning class completely to make space for more free weights. Like that is really needed. The spinning classes were always getting full. They have good demand. I dont understand the reason for removing the class. They are going to add a few spinning bikes with virtual classes. Im sorry but thats not the same as full interaction with instructors. The other option is to go to Edgewater. Well, people from Edgewater come to the PalPark because classes over there get full. What are they going to do now there is no more option for cycling. They are remodeling the gym, trying to make it look nice and better but they are making wrong decisions. Im looking for another gym.

Havent tried to cancel my membership here so I cant vouch for what all the other reviewers are saying. After my one-year commitment was fulfilled, my membership is now being billed month to month at the same price ($25/mo+tax) so no complaints here. When I asked about the cancellation policy, it was explained to me clearly that I need to give a one month advance notice before the next billing cycle or else Id be billed again.. seems simple enough.. will update if I try to cancel and run into problems.. As for the gym itself, its definitely a no-frills, no-nonsense, go hard and go home type of gym. Nothin fancy, just what you need to get a good workout. Adequate amount of free weights, punching bags, dry sauna in the mens changing room and a couple of showers. Always see the cleaning staff working hard in the mornings. Only complaint if I had one is that I wish there were more power racks upstairs. Tends to get crowded during peak hours.. Overall, you definitely get your moneys worth if youre looking for a gym to do work.

Fitness Factory is a no frills gym that offers a solid working class value. Compared to the hellishly nasty Ballys in Englewood, Fitness Factory is a good deal. The gym has 3 floors of cardio machines (treadmills, spinning, elliptical), stationary weight machines, calisthenic gear, and free weights. Additionally, there are classes (like yoga) throughout the week, a juice bar, daycare (which Ive never seen used), and personal trainers (extra fee). Overall, its clean, uncrowded, easy to reach and has good hours. On a smaller level, though, the discerning may notice a few issues here and there. For example: only 1 shower stall in the mens locker with a ledge for your personal items like soap; paper towels and spray bottles go empty from time to time; no kettle bell weights. These arent dealbreaks but you know that youre not at David Barton. This is a good neighborhood gym where you get what you pay for and get your business done without a fuss.

I have been a member of Fitness Factory for 10 years. Back in the day, they had a basketball court and the place looked like a prison inside. The only thing to do there was work out. They have since turned the basketball court into a spin room and built a room for candle light yoga. They also have a smoothie bar. They painted over all the cynder block walls with this peach color and installed automatic air fresheners. They also play dance music all the time. However, they have a TON of equipment in there and they did leave the third floor a safe haven for guys. All the free weights and heavy equipment is up there. The second floor has more machines. Its a great gym overall... as long as you have an iPod.

Unpleasant experience. Ive signed up for expensive month to month membership to have freedom of leaving. Not so easy though. You need to give 15 business days notice which makes it a month. Theyre open for business 7 days a week but count business M-F only. Cancelled once, asked if that was it and then got charged for next month. They found no record of my cancellation request, cancelled again and asked for copy this time but 11th of June was too late to cancel for July so got charged again. Planned to use for 3 months, ended up paying for 5. Place is OK at best, often crowded, seen multiple ellipticals not working for over a week. NEVER coming back there.

Ive been going to this gym now about 3 years. It has all the equipment to do your stuff but the place is dirty and disgusting. I get rashes what ever I touch at this gym in palisades park. From what I hear from others at the gym. All other 3 locations have new eguipments and cleaner. Hello owner to this gym? Maybe its time for new gym equipment!!!! It smells like crap inside and just dirty. Bring back the basketball hoop back! At least thats a step ahead of other cleaner gym then fitness factory in palisades park!!!!

The worst gym ever! I came with bunch of friends who are still in college with me. They could use the student discount on their membership so i thought i could as well. The front office turns me down because im 27 too old to be a student. Im a 5 year veteran in us air force. Can i be treated with some sort of explanation or respect? Why cant i be student when im 27? I demanded the manager so she comes out. She tells me that o she just implemented this rule just now. Is this some sort of age discrimination?

Hi Henry, prior to the holidays, I dropped off a petition requesting an additional evening yoga class. Some members and I were disappointed when we did not see it in the January schedule. You did however add an additional Zumba class and posted a sign in the hallway, "You ask, we deliver." That being said, can you please honor our request?! Yoga is healing especially to those who have a joint disease which are many of your members. Thank you very much.
