When moving to Weehawken, we ended up having to give up the basement that we had in our other apartment. Although we ended up throwing alot of stuff away, I just wasnt able to part with some collectibles that I had, as well as all my Christmas decorations. So, I googled some storage places in the area, and found Extra Space in Hoboken. My first impression was that i was very clean and well lit! Ive been to a few storage places that remind you of scary damp basements. But, Extra Space looks exactly like its supposed to - a storage center! The units are pretty big (I have an 5X5X8 unit) and it fits all my stuff perfectly. I also feel really secure because the doors dont open without a passcode unless the staff is there (and even if the staff is there, you still need a passcode to get into the elevator). There is always plenty of carts to help bring your stuff up and down and the elevators are large enough so if you have a large piece of furniture, no worries! The staff is really friendly and helpful as well! Ive had to call them a few times for different things, and they have always been very accomodating!

The staff was friendly and informative. Answered all of my questions. However, I wish the website had informed me of the extra cost of insurance on top of the rental fee. That took me by surprise. The storage room and the hallways were clean and looked well-maintained. My only real criticism is about security. I went there last Sunday when there was no staff and found the outside loading-dock door unlocked. The doorknob has a lock that anyone can unlock and forget (or purposefully neglect!) to re-lock. I made sure it was locked when I left. Also, the inside north door was not only unlocked but did not have a lock on the knob so I was not able to lock it before leaving. Finally, on that same door, the automatic closer has been partly dis-assembled and is no longer functional. The facility would be great if they just tightened the security a bit.

Ive had only recently needed a storage space for work. My wife has had a space for work for nearly 2 years now so I know Extra Space Storage is a clean, quiet, temperature controlled building. The common areas such as hallways are impeccably clean. They have two modern elevators if your storage space happens to be on an upper floor. Always plenty of carts to use to move your things in and out. Even though my wife already had a space there, I shopped around. Not only is it the least expensive place I found in Hoboken (for a 10x10 space at least), its simply a much nicer operation. I had no experience with the staff prior to getting a space for myself and I couldnt have been happier. I was helped by Sergio, who made the whole process quick and easy. I was signed up and ready to move stuff into my space in no time. Highly recommended

I have stored at Extra Space for almost 3 years and I have had very good experiences. I use my unit daily for work and I am always greeted and assited by Chris and Elba. They are very willing to help when needed and are very accomodating when I receive large deliveries on a monthly basis. The facility itself is kept very clean. My unit flooded during Hurricane Sandy and the facility provided free boxes, tape, paper towels, gloves, and unlimited use of the dumpster. I have heard some horror stories with other storage units in the area, from elevator issues to cleanliness to parking issues, and I can happily say I have never experienced these issues at Extra Space.

I have been needing a storage unit for quite some time and finally got one at Extra Space. After my easy experience I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner. I called to reserve a unit and came in the same day. Chris was super helpful setting my account up, showing me my unit and answering all the questions I had. The next day I moved a bunch of boxes into my 5x10 unit {which fits a lot more than I would have thought and I still have plenty of room}. My apartment feels brand new and so much bigger without having to hide and store the extra stuff but its also easily accessible for when I do need it. Wonderful experience, this has been my best spring cleaning yet.

Chris, the office manager who helped us, was very friendly and answered all of my questions and concerns I had. I wasnt aware of the insurance that was needed for the storage unit, but quickly realized how much it covered. The application process was extremely smooth, the unit completely clean and free of dirt and debris. The best part was knowing that even when I am using Autopay, if I miss a payment they will contact me before issuing a penalty. If you are looking for affordable storage in Hoboken (not the cheapest place for anything), this is where you should go.

Chris, the office manager was extremely helpful, showing 3-4 different storage sizes and spaces. He answered all questions and is an asset to this company. Great customer service. The facility is very conveniently located to drop off/pick up items as you travel in and out of Hoboken. I was surprised that the loading dock was so far away from the elevators but I can live with that, for the small amount of large items that will be stored there. And yes, as other reviews, inconsiderate people (drug reps I believe) use the loading docs as parking spaces.

Overpriced and they raise their rates every few months. Once you sign up for monthly rate. They then increase the rate every few months. If you go online you will see they are charging new tenants 50 to 100 dollars less a month. When I spoke with the manager, she said what are you going to do move your stuff? That’s exactly what I did. My friend rents a storage facility in Secaucus and they havent raised their rates in two years. Beware of this facility, it is clean but way over priced.

ESS has a very clean nice facility with excellent staff. People in office are always helpful, friendly and responsive. Location is convenient - parking is a plus in hoboken compared to other facility in town (that one may actually be gone now). Handy packaging- plenty of boxes when you need them and tape too. one thing is sometimes the door code mechanisim is funky in the cold weather which can be a pain. but all sorts of things get funky when its cold out I suppose.

The building is kept in great shape. All the hallways are very clean and customer service was excellent. I searched online and this seemed to be the cheapest units in the immediate area(i didnt search more than a few miles outside of hoboken). The only problem i saw was the day i moved in, it was a little busy and there a only a few carts to use. I think i had to wait 10-15 mins before one freed up for me, which wasnt a big deal for me. Other then that, it was perfect.

I was skeptical in putting my things in storage, but after speaking with Elba,who i belive is the manager,i easily understood the sign up process, and all the safety measures Extra Space storage takes.it has a nicely lit parking lot and the entrance is very accessible.the elevators are very,clean,fast and well padded.they also have something called package delivery acceptance which makes things a bit easier if your very busy.id recommend this place for storage.
