My parents were home all day waiting for a Priority 2-day shipment, saw the carrier walk to other homes and drop off packages. No knock, no doorbell rung. Found a "attempted" delivery slip on the door. Then asked for 3 re-deliveries on-line. Got 3 re-delivery confirmations from USPS Site. ZERO deliveries. Called them, was told that the carriers have all the mail and they were making deliveries. Asked them to double check to make sure that it wasnt sitting at the post office. It was still there. The "representative" stated that they may not have received the re-delivery notice. "It happens" is what I was told and as a solution I was told to call next time if I need a re-delivery. So the money and time USPS invested in the online re-delivery system was a waste of time. I proceeded to asked why was there no knock or why was my doorbell not rung? The representative couldt answer why. Its now 5 days later and they havent tried to re-deliver. Ill take time off from work to pick up the package. So now its costing me more money to have it shipped via USPS because of time lost. Oh, this isnt the first time, but the vendor wants to have it shipped via USPS. So now Im going to think twice to use that vendor because they choose to use USPS. I dont understand whats so hard about ringing a doorbell or knock on a door? It takes more time to fill out one of those slips, but they refuse to ring the bell so its not laziness. What is it? Of course I dont expect them to change. I laugh when I see the USPS commercials, "Watch Us Deliver". Sure, Ill watch you deliver, deliver to everyone except me.

Today was the 4th time Ive had to deal with Livingston USPS not delivering an overnight package yet marking it in their system as delivered. And of course it says delivered at 11:57am, 3 minutes before their money-back guarantee would come into effect. This is not mishandling or a "uncommon" error. This is a federal felony. This is theft and it is ABSOLUTELY punishable by law if you take the time and go through the aggravation of trying to go after this system. Today, police report filed with Livingston PD. Monday a complaint and investigation will be filed with the Essex County Postmaster and the Postmaster General office in DC. Enough is enough. I am also going to press charges on the local delivery driver because it is them who mark these packages delivered via a gps handheld system. The postal service offers them protection to an extent but they will still have to answer a formal complaint on paper. And then once I have that written document, and then I have the video of my home and specifically the front door and street view during the hours that their gps tracking says it was delivered to that exact location, then you have a federal case. Then things change. Then people get locked up. It certainly is a process that could take over a year to see through and most would never take it that far. But it has been done. It can be done. And Im doing it. Enough is enough.

Should have learned my lesson! But nooooo! I let them send my package again anyway. I have live fish sent to me all the time. I mainly use UPS "never failed". But sometime i forget to tell the shipper to use the service, so they go with the cheap alternative USPS. Last time with next day 12:00pm arrival guarantee, It came at 4:30pm. My fish was extremely stressed out. What was the point of paying for Express? got my refund. So i learned my lesson, this time, I had it set for "Service(s): Hold for Pickup". youd think the less stops, the easier it was gonna be for them. But guess what? I called in advance in the morning 9:00am to inform them of a package that was set to be held there. They took down my info, number, tracking number, the works. Told me to call back later. Great, sounds like a good day for me. I call back later around 11:00am, As rude as they could be, told me off by saying "You should have called earlier, they left with your package, its out for delivery now."...........hold up, the package was set to be held for pickup....wtf......"well, they sent it out".......thats it. nothing else she could have done. now its 12:18pm no sign of the delivery guy, so Im venting here at the moment. I Hate USPS! So for anyone living around the Livingston area. If you want free shipping, get Express delivery. They never make it anyway! So you can get your refund.

My mother send me a over night package that had food and they told her the package was gonna be there the next day by 12:30 pm. I was at work but my boyfriend was home all day waiting for the package. He would go outside every couple minutes to make sure if the package was there (because the food had to be refrigerated) at around 12:30 he went out and they left a note saying that they passed by but that no one was home so he had to go to the post office to get it. He went and they said the package would be there until 4 pm. I called and they were so rude. I explained to them that no one rang the door bell or knocked on the door. After an hour of calling them (because the would put me on hold) they said that the package was going to be there in 30 minutes. So I had to leave work early and when I got there the package wasnt there. I didnt get it till after 4:30 in the afternoon. I was disappointed. They are rude, unprofessional and irresponsible. And I wasnt the only one complaining that they didnt knock on the door and stuff there was another lady there too saying the same thing. YOU GUYS HAVE ONE JOB. And you cant even get it right. Very disappointed!

This is the worst post office ever. They are rude. You can wait all day for a package to arrive, and then the carrier wont even bother to deliver it. The carrier will mark it as "Notice Left" when they never even came to the house. When you ask the supervisor why the carriers are allowed to get away with this, they wont ever answer question, and will start talking over you. PLEASE SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN!!!!!!!!! If I did my job the way this location operates, I would be fired! How these jokers are able to keep going like this is beyond me? I have had days where I was supposed to receive a package and actually met the carrier in front of the house and spoken with him. He forgets to give me the package, and then marks it online as "No one home, Notice Left". I cant figure out how they are able to do this and still keep their job?!?! I can go on and on, but ultimately, the town of Livingston will be in much better shape when this office gets shut down and these guys are screwing up orders at the drive thru of some fast food chain in East Hannover. P.S. Terribly bummed that Google makes you even mark a star on the review

The people who work at this post office are beyond rude - the only person who seems to know what they are doing is Sandy - if she is not there, walk out the door and go elsewhere. If private industry ran their business in such a matter, they would be out of business. This is a post office, you would think that they have stamps to sell but even that is too difficult. The post offices in some of the local towns are much more pleasant - someone from upper management needs to come and clean house and for those employees still there, teach them manners and customer service. They lock the door early because "we are suppose to go home at 5:00pm" and treat people who are unfamiliar with the proper procedures with such contempt - they also cheat people, telling people to use flat rate priority mail boxes when it would be much less expensive to use a regular priority mail box, which are rarely in stock.
