I have a company vehicle, a 2010 ford escape, I brought it here for the very first oil change, I have pre -paid payment coupons that give me a select number of places to take it, I thought I would give this pep boys a shot. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I walk and and walk directly to the service center, I stand in front of two associates, they were in white clean shirts, so they were not service technicians, I stand here for 10 minutes before I ask if either of them can help me, they reply that they are helping other customers, meanwhile they are talking about plans for the evening, answer phones, and after an additional 5 minutes they ask to help me. I tell them I have a prepaid coupon( which the stores make out like bandits on) and they say it will take at least an hour. The sign behind them says 29 minute oil changes, I inquire about that and they say that is an estimated time, it will really take about an hour. I shouldve left here, but i decided to wait it out. So I hand over the keys, let them take the car in, I am now timing them to see how long this takes, after an hour and 15 minutes a "technician" comes out and says "The oil filter dont fit, so...." I ask him to find one that fits or find a manager. He sees a manager, calls his name "Mark" and "Mark" picks up his phone and pretends to talk on his cell phone and swiftly walks away. The "technician asks me what he should do" I tell him to figure out what filter fits it, and put it on, I need this car. He starts trying all different filters and eventually finds one. It has now been over 2 hours, now it comes time to pay. I am instructed to go up to the front and someone will ring me out. Of course when I give the clerk who was some type of "manager" she looks at me and say is its 57 dollars. I explain the payment coupon takes care of it and I dont need to pay, I explain she needs to process it through her computer system. She tells me she doesnt know what to do and i need to wait for another manager. I am so fed up, I laugh and walk out, Im sure they wont get paid for this and I dont even feel bad. I walk out and get into my car which is pulled into the drive up service line, which has a car in front and a car behind me, so I am blocked in, no surprise that some moron here thought this was a great idea. The entire store needs to be fired and they need to bring monkeys in , they could seriously run the store better. Ive come to the conclusion that the agenda of each associate in this store is to make any customers life living hell. I wish I could find the CEOs email address, and pay for his flight to come here, let him take a random car through this stores service center so he could understand why this location has 9 bad reviews on this site alone. I will never return to this store, I would rather pay out of pocket or drive 75 miles to get service somewhere else for my fleet vehicle to be serviced. If i were dying in the parking lot i would crawl across the street to use a phone to call 911 rather then go into this store again. I would rather walk across the country on broken class without food, water, or sleep then set foot in this store ever ever again! Saver your self the time and aggravation and go somewhere else!

0 Stars!!!! I had $1500 worth of maintenance done on my Integra. 3000 miles later, my car started overheating ridiculously, and then would not start. Turns out the "technician" installed my timing belt with the wrong timing and almost blew my engine. Needless to say, I was not taking my car back there. Of course, their argument is I should have brought it back to them so they could see what they did wrong. 3 days prior to the overheating my rear tire was coming off my car. When I took it back to them (I also had new tires put on by them) they told me "Someone must be trying to steal your rims." They will not take any responsibility for the fact that their technicians have no clue as to what they are doing. When I spoke to the District Manager, Dave Motyka, I asked for the contact of the Regional Manager. He explained to me that I would have to call the 1-800 customer service line for that information. When I called the service line, they explained to me that they did not have that information and I would need to speak with someone at the store location to get the contact of the Regional Manager. I explained to them that I had already done that, and that the District Manager was the one that told me I had to call the service line for that information. When I called the store location, more employees told me that they do not have that information there. Basically they are giving me the run-around so that I cannot contact any of their superiors. Dont waste your time and money here! You will bring your car in for routine maintenance and walk out with a list of issues!

I brought my car to have the drivers side headlight wiring fixed. Im a novice in all things car-related so this was definitely a learning experience for me. Aside from the $100 electrical diagnostic fee that my brother later told me was a rip-off, they fixed the headlight problem but as I was leaving, the sound for my turn signal faded out and there was no sound coming out of the drivers side speaker when I turned on the radio. I called to tell them about the problem as I couldnt come right back due to an appointment. They scheduled for me to come in the next day to have it fixed. I got there the next day and the man at the desk said no one could work on the car that day because he had no technicians available, although he was a technician but he doesnt "work on the cars outside" ???? So now, Ive spent $100 to fix one problem while gaining another and they are claiming no responsibility. He told me that he suggests taking it to the dealership and if the dealer finds that Pep Boys did something wrong then they will fix it free of charge. He chalked up the fact that I problem I have never had with my car (the loss of sound on the drivers side) to "a coincidence" when I asked him to explain how the problem began as I was driving away from Pep Boys. This has been a lesson learned and I will not be getting my vehicle serviced there ever again. Its sad and angering.

As every one else has mentioned about this place, it is clearly a RIP OFF place. Unfortunately, I read the reviews only after I gave my car to them for servicing. I went there for Check Engine Lights ON diagnosis. They said theyll charge me 48 dollars for the diagnosis. After 3 hours, they call me and say that they "identified 4 leaks" and need to put more labor time to diagnosis the exact cause and will charge me 57 dollars extra which would not be adjusted even if I get the car fixed from them. They put me in to a situation where if I decline additional checks then my earlier 48 dollars would go down the drain. Apparently, they wanted to run the smoke test to identify the cause. Isnt smoke test the first test to be run when the OBD code is P0440 - I was able to figure that out by googling but the "High Qualified" staff at Pepboys didnt know this. Anyways, to summarize, the mechanics dont seem to be well trained at this place plus they will find every opportunity to rip you off. The quote for replacing charcoal canister is apparently 750 dollars at this place. I agree with the other reviews - push your car in a river rather than going to this place for getting it fixed - let alone fixing, I came out paying them 120 dollars for just the diagnosis and quote.
