It seems like in todays society that people tend to go online to rate businesses when "they" feel that theyve had a bad experience. Its as if they feel that they are "getting back" by venting the world that "so and so did them wrong." Most of the time it is lack of education, time, tools or knowledge on the consumers behalf, of the product(s) being offered or service(s) being performed. Which is probably what led them to the given entity to begin with for whatever their needs/wants were at that given time. When the experience is good, they are happy and life goes on. Well let me just tell you that I have just had my second wonderful experience with Nick, Rocci and the Crew at Cottman Transmission of Woodbury Heights, NJ! The first time I went there (after getting a significantly higher price from an "acquaintance," also in the transmission business) I had my daughters flex plate replaced on her car. I supplied factory part and Nick happily installed it, for a very fair price, saving me a lot of hassle from having to do it on my back, in my driveway. He even returned a socket to me (that I had inadvertently left on the harmonic balancer bolt of the vehicle) that his Tech found while performing the work. I can think of other places that my socket would have easily ended up in someones tool box but it didnt ... it was returned to me with a smile! (I personally thanked and tipped the Tech) Lets just say that this kind gesture sealed my "trust factor" (aside from the cost of the job along with speedy, professional, polite and courteous service) during my first experience with a new shop! Just a couple of weeks ago, one of my work trucks became symptomatic of a transmission issue. I immediately called Cottman (slightly after hours) and Rocci answered. I explained the symptoms, and Rocci said "bring it in!" I brought my truck to them and the following day they were on it and explained to me, in detail, what it needed. Nick worked with me on costs and even utilized an "online coupon offer" to help me out! My truck was fixed and back on the job in a very reasonable time frame and a reasonable price considering how bad my transmission unit was! The transmission is performing like a brand new unit ... I took it to Nick yesterday, for its follow-up, and Nick gave it his blessings!!! I couldnt have asked for or expected better service from anyone or anywhere else!!! Finding a professional, honest and reputable Automotive Repair Shop is like finding a good Doctor ... though you hope for no mechanical issues, you are blessed to have them and refer them when given the opportunity!!! Thank you Nick, Rocci and the entire Woodbury Heights "Cottman Crew!"

My experience at Cottman Transmission in Woodbury Heights, NJ is the worst experience Ive ever had with a mechanic shop. You be the judge: I had my car towed there and for the 1st couple of days a mechanic by the name of Nick, couldnt find the problem. When I spoke to him he informed me that I was already up $227, including the tow ($75). Mind you the issue wasnt found---that was just the so called labor. By the way, the labor is $95 hr but he was being nice by charging me only 1.5 hrs. Again, my cars issue wasnt found. Im basically being charged for him looking for the problem. So my father went there and told him that my back bulbs were taken out. He called the next day and stated my car was fixed. Paid Nick everything but $19.73 and 24 hrs later my car did the samething I had it towed for in the 1st place. So I still have no car but Im out a total of $467.I had my car towed to the dealership and thay stated that nothing was fixed correctly on my car. For me to get it properly fixed will cost $800 to $1070. I went back to Cottman to get my money back and Nick gave me $55. He feels that he made that money even though my car, obviously, wasnt fixed. Not trying to sway anyone from going there but please be careful. They will fix your car temporarily but not permanently.

I had a noise that sounded like I needed a muffler. My boyfriend strongly suggested I try his mechanic as all my recent experiences had been suspect. I stopped in and they agreed to check the noise for no charge. It turned out that the day before I had tires installed, during their "free inspection" they left an air flow valve( or something similar) open and the great honest men at Cottman closed it and sent me on my way! No Charge!! They easily could have told me anything as Im not knowledgeable about cars. They have a new customer for all my automotive needs! They were nice, quick and most importantly HONEST!! Rare quality with woman and mechanics

Nick was incredibly helpful. I brought my car in for what I thought was a transmission problem, he ran diagnostics (for free since I am a returning customer) and found out it was an engine issue that could be easily fixed. He fixed the problem for a reasonable price. I would go back to him for any car problems.
