I am a member who has made several attempts to cancel my account at the Morris Park location in the Bronx. I was informed that only Olga, the manager can cancel my account. I have called three times previously and was told she was not at the gym, therefore I would have to wait to cancel my account. I called today and spoke to a staff member who told me she was in today and would be there at least until 4pm. I arrived at the gym around 3:15 and was told she left. I complained that I have tried cancelling my account several times and was once again told that she is the only one who can cancel my account. I find this extremely unprofessional and it shows a lack of consideration for members time. I am a working parent and dont have time to chase after a manager who comes and goes as she pleases. If she is not at the gym, there should be someone else capable of cancelling accounts. In the past, I have registered several times with NYSC - twice in Manhattan and three times at the Morris Park location. Not once was I ever unable to cancel my account upon request. The contract I signed states that I am able to cancel my account at any time. This location is not abiding by the terms of this contract. Once my account is cancelled I will never sign up again due to the horrible management practices at this location.

This is a great gym. Spinning classes with Nicole are awesome, cardio with Jada are great as well. And they have many more classes. I dont really interact with the staff that much since they are mostly in the front and the maintenance staff are always running around. But they are all ok. They have a juice bar and I havent encountered another NYSC that does. They have a variation of machines, weighs and other great working out tools. The sauna is great except when people want go in there and have one hour conversations but thats a different story. The pool is pretty good too, I dont get in it as often cause I dont wax often but if I did I would be there all the time. The bathrooms are always clean, they provide towels in the front. Sometimes they are limited due to supply demand. The have lotion shampoo, conditioner, soap for your use, small plastic bags, and provide baby sitting for your children while you work out. Overs its a great gym am glad my ex introduced it to me.

Was excited to join thought the sales rep was great. Told me 0 down first month free then $30 a month after. I inquired about family plan but she told me not to do it if my husband was a member of a near by gym for switching it would be $8 down and $10 a month after. We thought couldnt get better. Were in, no contract just swipe of my CC and your all set. Well 4 months later after paying $30 a month for myself and my husband paying his $10 we get phone calls from this gym saying we both have past due balances of 89.99. NOW theyre saying the "promotion" was a delayed down payment and supposedly both our CC. Were not posting payment. What a big BULLSHIT! First off you had no problem taking the monthly dues and second that was not explained when I signed up and where is my contract? BEWARE OF THE SCAMS!!! Theyre not honest and just want to make the sale!

This Gym is awesome, it has a decent sized indoor pool thats always clean. It has a sauna in the mens locker room; not sure about the womans. It has plenty of decently cared for equipment and the staff is attentive and friendly. They even have a little smoothie bar with delicious choices to choose from. The only problem here is the smell... The gym itself doesnt have too bad am odor, but when you get to the mens locker room!! Holy balls it stinks!! That ish needs to be exercised by a priest with bleach.... Could gag a maggot!! Clear out a morgue and all that... People need to believe in soap, deodorant and cleaning products....

Great gym, really 5 stars. I have been a member of NYSC for 4 years and have used the gyms in soho and Brooklyn mostly. Also in Philadelphia when I travel there for work. I recently moved to the Bronx and I love this gym. The things I dislike about the gym, is that they do not provide complimentary lotion and that at least in the women shower room the cleaning people sit in there and watch you. Also, the cleaning people close down the showers early and force people to use only certain showers halt way through the day. So the place would be 5 stars except for the weird cleaning people and the lack of complimentary body lotion.

Outstanding informative friendly staff and the GYM is well maintained from the lockers to the fresh towels stacked up. The Gym is nicely comprised of machine weights for beginners and free weights for the season veterans as well as an array of cardio specific machines. I believe anyone seriously dedicated to improving their physique or health in general will find themselves with plenty of options. Finally, you also have a smoothie lounge as well as a swimming pool to overcome your drowning phobias.LOL.. For the Bronx it definetly competes with those midtown gyms in manhattan... Peace c u there...

Waiting to cancel my gym membership. Funny when your signing up they see you right away, when you want to cancel they got you waiting. Bern about 15 minutes already. Bad enough they make you come in if you want to cancel, they wont let you do it over the phone so they get another opportunity to try to keep you on as a customer by offering you other things. Its not the place, its the location plus $69 a month if no deal especially if Im not using the facilities in the last 6 months. This is going on Google reviews straight like that

Why always a towel "shortage?" Isnt laundering what my membership dues should be covering? Soap and paper towels... small things that are no brainers and yet... damn shame because its a good size and lots of room, a decent facility when the equipment isnt broken (lazy, silly maintenance things such as the pins missing from the weight machines). Not sure what the manager is doing but he/she is letting it go to crap... the Bronx BP works out here (or he used to); isnt THAT enough reason for the manager to make the effort?

My main reason for traveling to the Bronx. I see no problems there everyone is friendly, and device nationality from different cultures, however I shower at home once I leave there because Im not used to being around naked in front of other men besides myself as if I was on Rikers Island or US Army basic training locker room. I just read the reviews about 5 years ago, stating the place was a mess, however Ive been attending there since the summer and rated it with five stars up and down the line.

I been going to this gym for almost 3 years now. But one recent incident that made not go there anymore. I was over charged on my card and dealt with a rude front desk employee. After speaking to the manager and the customer service agent my issue didnt get solved. I signed up for crunch in the city and so far great experience with the stuff and the facility. Sports club is already expensive for a college student and you would get great experience. Very disappointed.
