Kensington Fitness

New owner, Jose, did not pay the Landlord rent, for over 6 months. Many people renewed yearly memberships, paying $300.00, in the last month or two. On Friday, August 18, 2017, a court appointed Marshal served Jose with a cease and desist Notice. All members which recently purchased 1 year contracts were robbed! Jose was well aware of the fact that he had not payed rent in months, while continuing to sell yearly contracts! He is now lying to all customers, stating that he has electrical problems and was forced to close the gym. He has also illegally removed the Marshals Notice from the building. Not to mention, he was trying to desperately sell the gym in the last couple of weeks/months, hoping hed find an idiot who would buy the business in the state he had left it. He completely ran the business to the ground. But I guess thats what youd expect from a dirty, non-educated, ratchet hoodrat, with no morals, values or business ethics! RIP Kensington Fitness!

I have been a member of this local gym for over 2 years now. The gym recently changed ownership and lost the second floor, greatly reducing its size. The new management is nice and they take better care of the gym than the previous owners. The loss of the second floor does mean that the gym is very cramped with no real open space. That being said, if you know what you are signing up for, I think its great for the price. Its fairly clean (Im not going to lay on the floor or anything) and they keep the machines working. This is not your Equinox or even your Crunch. If you want a cheap local place to lift some weights or use a treadmill, this is it. If you want classes or lots of options and fluff, this is definitely not a gym for you.

New owner. With the new management the gym is very dirty. The classes were canceled. The upstairs is closed. The machines are broken. Smell really bad. Although unfortunately Im still member of this gym because they dont want to give me my money back or cancel my membership because the porpouse of my membership was the classes that said gym used to have and today they dont have any more without even a notice o a paper explaining that situation. New Owner is very rude. I dont recommend this gym. If you are thinking to go to a gym please skip this one.

Been going here for a long time, and its lame but its close by. The owner is clearly not interested in doing much with the business and if there was any reasonable competition I dont think it would survive. Machines stay broken a long time, the sauna never works, the place is pretty beat up looking. But they open on time, there are plenty of free weights and a decent variety of machines, and like any place - you make friends there. Ill keep going until something better comes along, and keep complaining in the meantime....

This place not worth the money they asking for why, reason always dirty, smells, broken machines, bathroom dirty ,, owner doesnt care, no shake bar, always run out drinks, reason still in business because no competition near buy, they charge application fee+year fee, over $400 per year , place smells like curry chicken, armpits , bathroom smells like pee,, i use go their for 8 years, from the first gym where the real estate, but i saw how the owner manages the place ,after while i said forget this BS place!!!!

This is the worst gym I have ever joined, out of many in many places. It is dirty, the people are rude, the machines are often broken. After paying in advance for a year and later moving away I called in to cancel my membership. The person who answered told me that yes I could cancel but I would not get a refund- however he would do me the "favor" of not charging me a $100 fee for canceling early. He told me this is the policy of "many gyms that he knows of" and then hung up on me. I recommend going anywhere but here.

Be careful, we cancelled our membership 2 years ago and they have a bootleg credit card company that charged us for the last two years. Owner is very rude hangs up on the phone after talking to him trying to figure out a solution and the reason for these charges. Horrible customer service and very unorganized. I do not recommend this gym to anyone, bunch of scumbags go to this gym and after getting disrespected by the owner this place is not worth the hassle go find a real gym.

Ive been a member of this gym for twelve years, starting when I moved from Williamsberg, where I was a member of their then sister gym on Graham Avenue. This is a great value. The place has a good cross section of serious body builders and neighborhood types just trying to stay in shape. It is well equipped, though the bikes need to be replaced. I have taken several classes thee and enjoyed both the teachers and the students. It is a very good neighborhood gym.

I live in the Windsor Terrace area. Today I noticed big glossy cards on everyones windshields and front doors courtesy of Kensington Fitness. This is something I have come to expect from third world enterprises such as car services and calling card companies, but a local gym? Come on, have a little class, youre not trying to win the race for senior class president here. Advertise like a grown up American business, and quit filling our trash cans with garbage!

they want 80$ just as membership!!! in addition to the 30 (not including tax) a month in addition to 100$ cancellation fee! also, their equipment is pretty old and low in number placed very close together bc it is a small room. the second floor is mad hot, dusty, and dirty. the other plan is 350 a year upfront plus tax. the worst is that it is their only plan which is literally stupid! ow and the monthly fee wo commitment is 60! haha! joke....

The gym is under new ownership, its clean, it has everything I need to get a great work out, and the staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable in training and nutrition. Best part its only $300.00 for a one year membership.

This gym could be better if they buy new equipment and fix its broken equipment. Staffs are not friendly.
