Its average. You can still get a great workout in but its limiting. The ceilings arent high enough so forget trying to do wall balls at 8 feet not possible and 10ft which is Rx will never happen here. The equipment is also below average. You wont find a 20lb med ball, i think highest is 16lbs. KB pretty below standard as well there are a few 24llb decent ones and maybe even a 32lb. The pull up bars arent high enough which makes them not challenging enough to work out pull ups chin ups, toes to bar etc in proper form, bc your feel are always in contact with the ground. The rings although nice they have some the left one doesnt stay in place. :( The power racks are ok, there are enough barbells to go around bc not many people use them and some bumper plates also. The studios are not bad, I go in there sometimes to do my metcons, KB swings or hand stand push ups etc. But even though its frustrating sometimes bc I cant do everything I want its on like 24$ a month and I find there isnt really any attitude there, pretty low key mostly a bunch of dudes who want to get bigger and power lift seems to be the majority which I actually dont mind at all. Working on opening my own crossfit place or hybrid? Takers? Im certified which means they will let me affiliate. Oh I really like the trainers here I forgot to mention. They are a really nice bunch of people who love health and fitness and are all about the client. So thumbs up and shout out to the trainers.

I have been having a personal training membership at the club for almost a year. In early June, my personal trainer told me that he was leaving at the end of the month. I had 3 more sessions with him, which he said we would complete before he leaves. My personal training contract renews on the 27th of each month and there is a need for 30 days notice for cancelation from the customer side. Even though it was from my personal trainers side, I was asked to pay for an additional session, which a random trainer gave to me, and didnt even bother training me or supplying the service they were supposed to supply. I was forced to pay for a service that I didnt want to purchase from someone that wasnt even trying to supply it. Extremely unprofessional management, stay away!

If you are there to work out, it is excellent. The management and staff are great and the place is kept clean. Of course like any other gym during peak hours it is busy and at times some fool leaves there trash behind. Sometimes a machine is down for repair, but mostly the place is run very well and the staff care about the clients. It is hard to find the "perfect" gym, and if people got off there cell phones while sitting at equipment and just worked out this place would be near perfect. No fault of management, this is just the result of young people who lack gym etiquette.

Great work out facility. Staff is fairly nice. But be careful of the contracts. Corporate and this sports club are very secretive in their contracts. There are all sorts of hidden fees, which are never explained when signing the contract. Also, once you reach your anniversary, they charge you an additional $53 dollars, plus your monthly fee, without any warning. If you move out of state, they still charge you a fee for cancellation. I recommend Planet Fitness, you may not receive a complimentary towel, but at least they will let you when they are charging you extra fees.

Sub par NYSC. If you like crowds, basements, and dirty workout environments, look no further!! You can only come here during non peak hours, otherwise youll have to wait to use the non-maintained equipment. God forbid you venture to the free weights. The frat Bros of Hoboken are either not strong enough to re-rack thier weights, or not smart enough to know how to match the numbers on the weights with the numbers on the rack. If you want to grab a drink from the water fountain, youre likely to find some pre-owned gum sitting in there. Great job NYSC management!

Good equipment and location but bad environment. Ive been going to this gym for about 6 months now because its close to my apartment but been increasingly disappointed. This NYSC has a good selection of equipment, however being in a basement sometimes ruins my workout. Its dark, without windows and has low ceilings. So low in fact that I have to duck my head on the stair machine. The worst thing is that I recently saw 2 large bugs while working out. I think they were cockroaches but I was not close enough to confirm.

You cant complain about the price. And while weve had several issues (e.g. miscommunication about services/fees, two instances of cockroaches, a rude encounter when signing up with a member of their training staff, spotty equipment that at times isnt fixed for a while), their management has been responsive to these concerns and takes them very seriously. I appreciate their attention to detail and their customer service to handle these issues when they do arise.

Been going here for two years only to see the gym deteriorate. Tons of broken equipment which is never replaced. Constant leaks and mold outbreaks. Only two squat racks and three benches. Rather than fix problems all they do is try to put a band-aid on it...Then everything breaks again a few weeks later. Yet they still charge like a premium gym.

Been going to this gym for a couple of months now. I usually go at night when its less crowded so I cant comment about the availability of machines. The general gym culture is pretty bad, very few people put weights back when they are done with them. On the positive side everything you need is there and the price is definitely worth it.

Came in as a guess and the person at the front insisted that she keep my drivers license. It was unnecessary and of course I forgot it. Make a copy of it if you so desperately need everyones ID.

Gym is ok. Gets very crowded during peak periods and kind of dark in the basement. Cell phone service is spotty for most carriers so need wifi to reliably steam music.

Amazing gym when its not crowded. Has every machine you could possibly need great all around gym. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasnt in a basement

A squat rack was always available. This is way less crowded and has a much better lifting area than the clubs in the UWS.

The gym has good pricing and a good variety of equipment, but maintenance is lacking, especially in the mens bathroom.
