Elite gym is a smaller and locally owned gym (by two military veterans: Milton and Carlos). I found this place when I was looking for a nearby gym that would be convenient and work around my hectic schedule. In the five months Ive been a member, I can personally attest that the place keeps getting better. It seems like every time I walk in that Milton has added something new! Hes a long-time fitness buff himself and has been slowly renovating the space; replacing outdated equipment with Rogue gear. Last time we chatted he mentioned that hes hoping to fully canopy the backyard for the summer months. Im definitely looking forward to seeing where this gym is going. I love the members and the owners; everyone is super friendly. Its a true gem and the membership prices are very reasonable! I highly recommend checking it out.

I come in a little after midnight Sunday morning to work out until closing(Mayweather fight night). I was unaware the gym would be reserved for the fight. The young kid with the glasses stops me and asks for the $20 entry fee(which I had no idea about). I didnt care about the fight; if I did I would be watching it at home. I came to work out which is what I pay for. I told him I didnt have any cash and he repeats $20. Seriously, you could have let me owe you the $20 or just let me watch the damn thing since I saw somebody there I knew and it was almost over anyway. So yeah Im kicked out. I come back 15 minutes later with $100(cost of the fight) and tear it to pieces and throw it on the floor and hand back my membership card. That kid needs to learn to treat his members better.

I really have no idea why a dozen or so people gave this place 4/5 star reviews. Maybe its because theyve never been to any gym before this one, or maybe I got spoiled by a gym I have been a member of for 20 years, but this place is crap. Its essentially a barebones weight, with many outdated and old machines; quite a few machines missing; and free weights are very uncomfortable and old as well. It has NO LOCKER rooms. It just has 50 or lockers, only half of which are functional, out in the hallway of a basement, and 2 relatively small bathrooms where one has to change, apparently. I have been going to 24/7 fitness in sheepsheadbay (formerly Ballys) and I just gained a new appreciation for it after visiting this awful little place.

I have only been coming here for a week on a free pass and I really like it. Definitely a step above NYSC and similar price point. I will be going here primarily for convenience but I really like the setup. The room is nice and large and I havent had a problem getting a spot. The equipment seems pretty nice and new which is always appreciated. Everything is clean and they have nice amenities-a roomy locker room, nice soaps in the bathroom, etc. I recently joined this gym and am very happy that I did. The front desk staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The gym is very clean, in fact, I see the maintenance staff cleaning constantly. The locker room floors are always being cleaned and mopped.

The presence and care of the owners, a family of four brothers, is felt daily. The visible cleanliness, the immediate correction of issues or equipment maintenance, the constant cleaning, the ever expanding range of new equipment and did I mention how clean the place is kept? Very old school with Rogue equipment (and others, but the heart is Rogue). Not one wasted inch of space but not overcrowded placement. Go home to shower. Small lockers are in basement. Dilettantes and poseurs should look elsewhere for their stage. Outside training areas, cold water and whey shakes for sale, chalk and powerlifting friendly, four power racks, one Smith. Heaven!

I love that the owner is approachable and very supportive of my goals. He motivates and inspires me to meet my goal through verbal praise and motivation as well as posting posting motivational pictures and telling me that can be because inhale the potential. He is an absolute great trainer. He is 100% assertive and attentive 100% of the time. He makes sure my technique and body alignment is proper before and during each exercise. In addition the gyms appearance is totally non intimidating and bright. It is a happy place. Love this gym.

Traveling powerlifter & casual weightlifter visiting Brooklyn for the weekend...dropped in to get a quick workout while I was in town. Definitely recommend this place if youre serious about training! You know its a great lifting gym when there are more squat racks, bumper plates and barbells than machines. The staff was great and you can tell they care about making this gym exceptional. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back if Im in Brooklyn again.
