This is a basic no-frills gym. You pay $20 per month to use the equipment. Its not the best or the worst - its squarely in the middle. They have approx: 17 Treadmills 12 Ellipticals 2 Bikes 4 Recumbent Bikes Plus all kinds of weight equipment There is childcare on-site. They offer a few basic classes - spin, Zumba, yoga. There is tanning equipment. Havent used it. Dont think its healthy. Im actually surprised (disappointed) that its even here. The bathroom / locker room is OK. Not always spotless. The sinks usually have cold water only. It does the job. The clientele is good. Mostly average folks interested in burning some calories. The "Retro Blends" contain no fruit juice, fresh fruit, milk, or yogurt (as far as I can tell). So I would not call them "smoothies". It looks like theyre made with ice, water, and flavored protein powder. The staff is friendly. You are usually greeted with a smile and a Hello when you walk in. If you want to use a treadmill, a bicycle, an elliptical, or the weights and you dont want to spend $60 per month ... This is a good place to be. If you want lots of classes, spotless bathrooms, and an indoor swimming pool ... Try LA Fitness in Farmingdale.

If I could give this gym 0 stars I would. There is no parking ever and at peak times good luck getting any equipment. On top of that they dont explain the contract to you. Now theyre under new ownership, theyre worse then before!! I had a baby and paid my membership for almost 15 months without coming in. I came to cancel, not looking for a refund just to cancel. The women who called herself the manager told me I had to pay the next 60 days its part of my contract. Youd think if you wanted people to come back in the future youd see I paid all that time and never came and let me just cancel. She then told me they will come after me and Ill go into collections if I dont pay the next 2 months. If thats not bad enough, she began to talk down to me with a sarcastic tone, telling me "why dont I go home and take care of my baby". Really?? If this review helps just ONE PERSON not go there its worth it!

It WAS a clean and well maintained. Lately it has CLEARLY slipped. I think the staff is comprised of nice enough people but most are very young and dont take pride in where they work. The machines are all off their pads...the cushions on virtually all the machines are visibly dirty. I have personally taken the time to re-rack weights almost every workout (beyond those that I personally used) I have yet to see a staff member do it ONCE. The mens locker room smells like a stable. The carpet clearly needs to be cleaned. (somebody apparently came in with dog feces on their shoe...it was still on the carpet the next day although i guess it could have happened again) I hope this does some good, because I dont want to have to go back to Golds. But a clean functional gym is worth the extra money.

This gym is pure garbage! Nasty, rude girls always behind the counter, gym smells horrible. Dirty equipment. Tanning station is dirty and never clean. Cant breathe in movie room with treadmiils cause it stinks so bad. No ventilation whatsoever, and when you politely ask if they can do something about it, or to play whatever movie is on that day, you get an attitude. For some reason I was called crazy just because I wanted all the protein drink I paid for and didnt allow them to dump and waste a 1/3rd of it down the drain. Sorry I interrupted you during your usual 20 hours of cell phone play a day time.This place is pathetic! Dont bother with them!

This gym has pros and cons. Pros- I love their Zumba classes! Cons - their parking lot has poor security and there is never any parking available. I had my car broken into in their parking lot and it was a terrible experience. Another con --- their room for Zumba classes is poorly ventilated and the floors get very slippery and wet and a few women slipped during class. The gym is under new management which is good bc its a lot more cleaner and organized than it used to be. I basically only belong to this gym bc of the classes otherwise I would work out somewhere else.

Was visting family for a week. I brought the 25 dollar week pass and i have to say it was a good experince. Staff was friendly they even had a new girl training and she was nice as well. A whole bunch of space so your not as often going to have to wait for a machine or weights. Even the people that work out there are nice got some pointers on my form. Overall good experince! I know what gym i will be going to next time I am visiting deer park

Great atmosphere and nice gym. I went to this gym for over 7 years before I recently cancelled due to moving where there are no Retros. (Cancellation was easy and painless). Manager Pauline is very genuine, makes sure to personally greet every person as they come in and leave. I met a lot of great people here over the years, the majority of patrons are friendly and the staff is willing to help as well. Ill definitely miss it!

awful gym. if you are a day late with payment, they charge TWENTY DOLLAR late fee. Their collections office will then hound you by phone and mail to pay up. goodluck trying to cancel membership. The gym itself is cluttered and equipment is limited. you get what you pay for, but there are better gyms for cheap than retro ftiness.

For any business customer service and and courtesy from staff is the biggest asset and that is what they dont have. Staff is rude and argues with customers on small things. I do not recommend this gym. Owner prior to 2016 was different and much better.

I decided to switch gyms, and I found it rather ridiculous that they may me pay two additional months plus the annual fee in order to cancel my membership. It felt like a cell phone company experience trying get out of a contract.

Opens on time everyday without exception. AM crowd is friendly. Gym manager is very attentive and addresses problems quickly. No frills, but thats all I need to get a good daily workout. Spin class is intense and fun.

Not enough of a selection on the cardio machines. Weekend hours are terrible. Gym closes at 6 pm!? Staff is not very friendly.
