I am very happy with my experience at this fitness club. I had checked out other clubs in the local area before i signed up and decided to join at Retro Fitness in Dix Hills. While going from fitness club to fitness club in the area i noticed this to be by far the cleanest of all the ones i checked out. There are many reasons that i am so glad i joined this gym. The staff at the front desk is always very friendly every time i go in to work out. I have noticed other staff in yellow shirts that walk around and clean the equipment. They do a great job of keeping up with the cleanliness of the gym. Finally whats best of all is my insurance company reimburses me for working out there. An employee at the front desk was so helpful in giving me a copy of my payment history and a log of my check-ins for me to send to my insurance company. Thank You Retro Fitness in Dix Hills for making my experience so enjoyable.

Ive had a good experience here, the machines run well, the weights area is pretty large and free weights are generally up for grabs. For cardio, I like the movie area, away from people and you can focus on the movie instead of a tiny tv screen on the upper deck. Its decently clean, though Ive seen people leave machines and not clean them as well as found tissues or napkins in some of the holders. The only problem Ive had came from my little sister who signed up for a plan and Retro would not cancel and continued to bill her account despite their deal, which meant she had to cancel her card and get angry calls from them about settling a balance she never asked for. Worth it if youre definitely a gym rat, not worth it if youre worried about being swindled out of money.

The new recumbent bikes are terrible! There appears to be no consistency between bikes, as to miles, etc., and the controls are difficult to reach; plus the TV (when it is working) does not go on automatically, and it goes off almost as soon as you are done; presumably to save electricity. If NY Sports Club comes down just a little bit in price, perhaps for seniors, Im going back. Its closer, anyway. The staff is very nice, but ......... . Plus, in case it isnt readily apparent, it appears that these gyms that charge a lower price make their profits by the folks who dont show up, but keep their membership.

Easy to join. Impossible to leave even if you have a very good reason. Read every word of what you sign as they follow it to the letter. They charge two months plus the annual fee if it is within that time. They also charge to pause. No other local gym does that. And worst of all, if you owe them a dime they send you to collections. Terrible. And most of their members are students. They care far more about their monthly fees then if someone even used their gym.

This location is runned by morons, they locked me into a plan that I never agreed upon, the staff behind the counter are miss leading and would rather flirt with trainers instead of help people and provide factual information. Dont waste your money here, its a teen club. Im going at waste my money paying off a contract that I was unknowingly locked into for the next couple months. Thanks for taking the food out of my childrens mouth retro!

The gym is not too big not too small just Wright you never have to wait too long for machine not to mention the personal program theyre really focuses on your specific needs I have never experienced such professionalism they made me feel like I am in complete control of my fitness goals walking me step through step they also worked with my budget so it worked in perfectly with what I needed and my expenses highly recommended

I love Retro Fitness. I have been going there religiously since the gym opened. The price has never gone up. Still $19.99 a month. All four of my daughters go there and my fiancé too. Before I met my fiancé I would meet first dates at the gym and have them work out with me! I even worked there at the front desk and in the child care room. Its like my second home!

Retro is super clean and not expensive at all! The staff is friendly and quick to help me at any time. I am always greeted with a smile any time I go. They have such great hours I can go before work or after the kids are home from school. Keep up the great work Retro!

They keep the equipment up and running, for the most part. Staff is nice. Probably could use about 20% more equipment (prime time there is a wait for the more popular weight and cardiovascular machines). For the price, the facility is functional.

Ive been going here for two years now, its clean and they have good equipment. You just have to know the chunks of time to avoid to avoid crowds. They also close early in the weekends, they should at least stay open till 10 on Saturdays.

Ive been member of this GYM for 2 years now. although Im on month-to-month payment agreement , they charged me 2 months plus an annual fee when I requested cancellation . These guys just try to steal from you as much as they can.

Equipment mostly works, staff ignores customers, cleaniness questionable, easy to get in and out. Absurd contract that makes you pay 2 months past your move date (cancellation) including the renewal fee. Gym members beware.

Very happy. Nice folks, clean gym, good price. Those complaining about canceling should either read contracts before they sign them or, better yet, just keep the membership and exercise like you intended.

Definitely convenient to have a gym membership for only 20 dollars a month. Lots of members cause some machine to wear and need maintenance often, but issue are usually resolved within the week!

Good inexpensive gym and relatively clean. They keep everything fairly well maintained and the staff are friendly. Can be busy at peak times.
