STAY AWAY from Mavis Discount Tire in Gardiner, NY. They do not know what theyre doing. Spend the extra money and get your tires installed elsewhere- a place where they will actually do the job right the first time. I came here to buy new tires. Along with the tires I paid for installation and a tire alignment. After having all of this done, my tires werent aligned. I called Mavis and they said they would take a look at it and re-align them if needed. They had to redo the alignment, which was done without charge. As I was driving home I immediately noticed that in order to drive straight, my steering wheel had to be turned to the right. Obviously they did not properly align the tires. I took my car back to Mavis to ask for my money back as they couldnt do the job right. They asked if they could check to see if they werent aligned and I signed a receipt that said "Check Alignment". I specifically said that they can check, but do not redo the alignment since I didnt want them messing up again. The manager, Darren, came out and informed me that the tires werent aligned and that they were fixing it. I told him I never said for them to re-do the alignment and he tried to play it as if I said for them to fix it. Dont put words in my mouth- all I said was they could check and that I wanted my money back. After a brief dispute I got my money back for the alignment. Took my car to a local shop with a great reputation to have my tires aligned properly. When I picked up my car, which now has perfectly aligned tires, they told me that Mavis didnt align them whatsoever (I have a copy of the report of the tire alignment before and after). They also said one of my tires was LOOSE! This is a safety hazard. I do not recommend Mavis Discount Tire whatsoever. After having my tires "aligned" 3 TIMES, they still werent aligned. I had to take my car to a completely different shop. Its as if theyre doing this on purpose so you have to come back sooner to buy new tires. Theyre corrupt and need to re-evaluate their work ethic.

Scheduled an appointment several days prior for an alignment. Drove the 20 minutes over to their shop and arrived on time and was told there was no technician to work on my vehicle. No calling ahead to let me know they were short handed and no apology - just told me that I could wait an hour (but that if the job took longer than an hour they wouldnt be able to complete it today). The manager just told me "this schedule is what I am working with today". There was also another woman there who had to argue with them about her coming in for a simple oil change. She had called thirty minutes prior and they said she could come in. She showed up and was told they couldnt work her in. The did end up saying they would find a way to fit her in somehow. I called Del Hatt and they made some room for me to come in same day. Ended up driving the 25 minutes over there and wish I had just done it from the get go. They did a fantastic job and were easy to work with. The owner took the truck out for a test drive too before passing the keys back to me. Technicians were friendly. I know where Im taking my vehicle from now on.

Awful. Called last week and set up a morning appointment today for AN INSPECTION. I have brought four cars here and have been getting inspections for ten years at least. I waited for an hour and 15 minutes for an inspection! The assistant manager kept going on about being short staffed. When it was Ireland Corners, the guys finished a car and the next was brought in immediately. I watched him spend 15 minutes on paperwork on two previous cars while mine sat in the parking lot. I just asked for my keys and left. Ive heard that Mavis stinks, but I thought that this location would be better as I thought they kept the same staff. Dont waste your time, especially when inspections can be had almost anywhere.........

The guy there that does state safety inspection creates problems that dont exist. He told my friend she needed new tires, she went in the following week to get new ones at Mavis, and after 4 hours of Waiting they called her to tell her she still had 70% of tread left and didnt need new tires at all! I just recently went in for inspection and the same guy told me my rotors are rusted and brakes are shot, he was going to pass me, but I needed to get that done right away. Thank goodness I got a second opinion from a trusted friend who said my rotors are fine, rust is normal. And my brakes will last until summer! Dont waste your time or money here.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Website states "make a reservation" which I did for 11:30 a.m. for a car inspection. I received an email confirmation with a reservation number. When I arrived I was early and asked if they could inspect my car earlier than my 11:30 appointment I was told it would be soon. I told the employee I had a reservation and was told "they dont do that." I assured her I had a reservation and had a confirmation email. People came and went and after waiting for more than an hour and a half, checking intermittently, I was told to keep waiting. Got in my car and left. I would never go back!

Dropped my truck off for tires and an alignment. After 4 hours with no call my husband called and of course conveniently they had just pulled it out. Went in to hear there was a "small hiccup" which no one called to let me know and then proceeded to try and charge me for the part they broke that was never authorized. I usually drive 45 min to get my cars serviced and was willing to give them a chance as theyre 2min up the road which I let them know when I dropped my truck off. We will not be returning there and will continue to take our cars out of the way as we know well get treated better.

Yesterday I stopped in and ordered in 6 tires for my dual rear wheel truck. Tires came in today like they said however they also said it would only take 1-1/2 to 2 hours to complete. So I drop my truck off at 1, call them at 4 and they said its being worked on. I inform them I have a job estimate at 530 and they said no problem they would have it done. Well I missed my job estimate and didnt leave with my truck til after 7... that is 6 hours for 6 tires or one hour per tire (however you want to look at it).

A bunch of crooks. Went there to mount my summer wheels and was told I needed new struts and tires for $1700. They said that the struts were in such bad shape that they made my 1 year old tires choppy. Went to my dealership and was told my tires and struts were in great shape. Dont know how they can live with themselves scamming people all the time.
