I contracted Long Island Moving and Storage to move my apartment from Sayville to Coram, Long Island. To begin with; I was given a time of 8AM-9AM on 5/10 which was told to me the morning of that the movers called in sick and would not be able to keep this appointment. I would not have a place to live, so I begged them to find someone to move my apartment. The rude office lady (Adeline) called me back and confirmed they had movers to do my apartment between 1130AM-12:00PM. The movers showed up at my apartment; greeted me and explained the job would cost 600 dollars and that a 30 dollar tip per person is appreciated. What service talks about tip before a job is completed? The move - They started packing up the old apartment. Everything I asked the movers to do was met with grunting as if I annoyed them. This made the whole experience very uncomfortable. The unloading of the old apartment went well with no hitches other than what I just previously stated. I met them at the new apartment and the grunting continued. Everything was a problem with them and seemed to annoy them, definitely not a good customer experience. The movers used my tools without asking, luckily they gave it back. As they unwrapped the furniture, they asked where the dumpster is and I directed them the nearest one. I opened up my front door to notice they left it all at the front door!! They unloaded the truck and I noticed that the big screen TV was missing. The head mover told me that I need to sign the papers and produce payment before they could bring the last piece of equipment. WHAT????? Basically; I have to sign the job complete, hand over payment and if the TV is damaged or anything I would be out of luck. How is that fair? I asked to speak to a supervisor but the mover refused and told me that nobody is available. Called the office after the move - I called the office and spoke to the same RUDE office worker Adeline who could careless about my problems. She just basically spoke over me and didnt try to resolve my issues. All I got from her was "Im taking down notes" I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager and apparently none are available to take call and would call me back at 11AM on 5/12. She told me they have a cell phone, but I guess my issues werent important enough to call them and get them to contact me back. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want a crew of movers helpers (minus the movers) moving your items, an office that cant even take a reservation without putting you on hold 23 times, and an owner who could care less about the mess his guys leave in their aftermath, this is the company for you. My office was moving from our existing space into a new space with new doors, freshly painted walls, and new carpets. The walls, doors, and doorways now show the damage that can be done by a crew who doesnt know how to angle furniture to get it through a doorway. The carpets are all frayed at their seams from the "movers" sliding furniture on the ground from room to room without dollies. And luckily, they make you sign a disclaimer before you move making it virtually impossible to file a claim with their insurance when they do damage. The owner, "Bobby", talks a good game and comes off as concerned, but at the end of the day it is all BS. He could care less what havoc his guys create, because he got paid. I would not recommend a move with these clowns to my worst enemies. How they are still in business, I do not know.

Horrible experience, beware of this company. They advertise a $700 for 5 hours (4 hours + 1 hour for driving to and from house). After filling out a form they claim that they cant give an estimate (naturally they dont send anyone out to size the job). I had a two bedroom apartment that was 1/2 to 2/3 packed. When they arrived they didnt have Masonite (stuff put on ground to not hurt carpet) and said we dont usually use this and didnt know about it. I was never asked about it although this is their business. They sent the truck and one of the three men back to the facility. TWO HOURS later the guy returns with not enough Masonite to do the job! We had to get it from the Supper of the building. Then they were VERY slow. At $140/hr and $210/hr for overtime. It cost $2,446!!!! Then they wanted a tip of 20+%!!! This wound up costing me over $2,850!! Outrageous! I dont want others to get suckered like I was. By the way, they said they could not give an estimate...the form brought to me said $1,800 estimate and that was printed out before they came to my apartment.

My wife and I recently were forced to move and needed to find a mover that could meet our short notice. We vetted several moving companies who came to our home and proposed written estimates and then we found Long Island Moving & Storage who had a different approach. They have the moving thing all figured out and in the end more accurate in their estimates and more affordable. They had an extremely comprehensive online form that allowed us to spec out room by room all of our materials. This saved everyone a lot of time and easily differentiated themselves from the competition. We had no hesitations when selecting their services. The owner Bobby contacted us right away first by email then by phone was very helpful and walked us through the process, the costs and the expectations. On the day of the move they carefully wrapped all of our furniture and transported everything to our new place with no issues. The owner also called us after the move to follow up with the service! I would like to recommend their service to others that may be seeking moving services.

Don’t trust this company with your move. I wish I had read the yelp reviews before dealing with this company. Bobby (the owner) sounded reassuring during each conversation we had leading up to moving day. I reserved a date over a month in advance after getting an fair estimate. I checked in twice the day prior to confirm that things were on track, only to find out the DAY OF MY MOVE that Bobby “could not find a driver.” Moving day is stressful enough, but it becomes a nightmare when the “professionals” are a NO SHOW!! Bobby explained that he is just trying to be candid (though it seems to not have occurred to him to be candid when booking the move the month prior or when verifying with him the day prior). Bobby tried to console me that there were 5 other people in the same position I’m in —with jobs that he was unable to staff (as if Long Island Moving leaving other people stranded somehow made it any better!!) If you want a low-stress move, look elsewhere!!

By far, the worst moving company we have ever used. They came late and wasted almost 2 hours of moving time and charged us for it. They stored our furniture and charged US a security deposit! When given their tip ahead of time because my husband had to go back to work, they complained and said it was not enough to split with their 5 guys! And believe me, he tips very well. When we finally moved into our home, the way they wrapped our furniture was so poor that the bottom sides of our dressers were scraped down to the bare wood and they even managed to dent the top of my dryer! I would not recommend them to anyone!!! We were overcharged and called for an explanation, the woman was nasty and condescending. We had to wait almost 4 days to receive our credit on a debit card!! These moving companies need to be controlled. They are overpriced!!
