Experts in Moving My 82 year old mom could no longer live by herself in her Bayside Queens apartment. We had lots of space in my house in Seaford, so the family decided she’d be better off living with us. My schedule is very hectic, so I needed to find a moving company that would handle all of the packing and the move for her. Hopefully, the movers would be understanding with my mom because she had been living in the same apartment for close to 45 years. I contacted three different moving companies for her. When I contacted Liberty Moving and Storage I spoke to a girl named Lucy, who was very helpful. The third estimator we saw was from Liberty, his name was Rich Trachtenberg. Mom and I both liked him best and felt very comfortable talking to him; he was very competent, knew his business, was very compassionate and made the whole moving experience feel less daunting and overwhelming. Liberty’s price fell somewhere in between the other companies we had seen previously, but we had a good feel about doing business with Liberty and decided to book our move with them. The move was scheduled for two weeks later. Rich had suggested that the packing crew come the day before the move to avoid confusion and make the whole moving process go more smoothly. On packing day they arrived around 9:15 a.m. The bosses name was Ben and he and his crew packed everything carefully. They were patient and worked with Mom and I to figure out what was essential, then packed and labeled each box. Our 3 man moving crew was due to arrive at 8:30 the next day. We were a little concerned when the truck had not yet arrived by 9:00 a.m. and we were calling Liberty’s office when they turned into our block. Julio Melgar and his two helpers, Bruce and Martin apologized for the time, saying that they had gotten stuck in traffic. They went straight to work, padded antique bric-a-brac and wood furniture, covered her upholstered sofa and chairs in plastic-wrap and moving blankets, then loaded everything into the truck. They worked through their lunch to make up for the lost time from the morning. Each man took turns eating so they could continue working. They finished loading the truck in 2 ½ hours. The drive to Seaford and the unloading into our house were uneventful and quick. All in all the move took 5 ½ hours, which was ½ hour less than Rich had estimated. He told me that he was very conservative about estimating and this might happen, but I thought that was a sales pitch! Happily, I was wrong! The whole job went very well, and my mom was happy that it did. There were no damages to any of her belongings. My mom said everyone did an excellent and professional job, and she was truly impressed with Rich T, Ben, Julio, Lucy and the whole company’s expertise and attention to detail. Since she’s 82 years old, I can’t very well say that my mom would be using Liberty Moving & Storage again, but we (mom and I) would certainly recommend Liberty—the movers with a heart--to anyone who was looking for exceptionally good service. Cynthia Robbyns Pros: Movers with a heart! Cons: The movers arrived a little late and should have allowed for traffic or called to let us know they were going to be late.

You obviously do take these claims lightly. Jennifer, despite the public response to tell the world that you would resolve this issue, you failed to call me. In fact, since your response, I have had to call you three times. Each time you promised a next day response. Each time you fail to respond. Not once have you taken the time to call me. Let me start off by saying that Gary was excellent and professional. I chose a full service move, complete packing from our home in NY to Florida. The guys who came to pack were wonderful and efficient. So from the quoting stage through the packing, everything was great. But I cant possibly rate Liberty on the work they did leading up to delivery. Much like you cant review how well LeBron dribbles down the court. Its the delivery that matters. Maybe this is typical, but it took 14 days for the truck to get to Florida. When they delivered the items, my dining room table had this big gash in it. The table is a laminate table with a separate solid wood base. Very heavy. They sent out a restoration guy who looked at the table and said, "Ill do my best, but this is a combination of materials and theres no way Ill be able to fix this. My table now looks like a table which has a gash in it thats been filled in. I paid $8,000 for the move and I purchased additional replacement insurance. Well, two days later, Liberty came back to offer me $0 as compensation. They also asked me to sign a release in return for that $0. Really? Ive had maybe 2 claims in my life, and each insurance company bends over backwards to fix the problem. Its all about the delivery, Liberty. You guys did fabulous except when it was time to shoot and score. You get 0 points in my book.

I am happy to recommend Liberty Movers. They did an exceptionally fine job with our move from New York to Texas in January. Every person at every step of the process was efficient, helpful and reliable. Paul Berk came to the house to assess the contents. He explained the specifics of the contract clearly and accurately. He answered questions in follow up phone calls and arranged for a change of dates. Tami Addamo coordinated the job beautifully and was always available. She kept me informed about the move, who would do the packing and who the mover would be and when they would arrive. I knew what to expect at all times, very helpful during a stressful move. Alex Hache arrived with his team to pack on schedule. He did an excellent job with our treasured belongings and was very patient as we made last minute decisions. Everything was labeled and he explained to us how to use the labels at the other end. They built a special crate on the spot for a massive slab of marble that was part of a treasured antique sideboard. Sal Montes, the mover showed up the next morning right on time with a huge gleaming truck. He was very helpful scheduling the delivery to accommodate family at the other end. He and his team carefully emptied the house including the massive sideboard! He arrived in Texas on schedule and managed challenges that arose at that end. He left a phone number to reach him if needed. Every person at every step was friendly and efficient. Liberty Movers made the closing up and moving of our family home of seventy years a stress free process. Many thanks to you all.

Our experience with Liberty Moving and Storage Co., Inc of Commack, New York has been of Excellent quality+ during an ongoing decade long business association. We were fortunate to utilize the services of Liberty in 2001 when they moved into their Storage Facilities in a most efficient manner our Household goods from L.I. and ultimately delivered all goods to Arizona in 2012! The Professional concerns for the integrity and safety of our goods by Liberty was paramount at all times and their mission to serve the public at large with the highest quality was clearly demonstrated by the fact that all goods were in perfect condition when unpacked after a decade duration of being stored and undergoing a two thousand mile re-location journey from New York to Arizona. The extent that Liberty goes to maximixe protection of climate sensitive items is impressive and clearly demonstrates a knowledge of materials handling that can only come from this third generation family owned business and state of the art storage facilities. Over the years, interactions with Liberty personnel from the Principals, Comptrollers Office, and staff from billing to estimators, drivers and loaders has been a genuinely positive experience and we feel that this firm cannot be recommended more highly, as in our opinion they are synonymous with the words truth and intergrity!!!
