I usually dont spend time writing reviews but this one deserves my time and your consideration. I have to say that my short term rental went pretty good, from start to finish. And the space I took was perfect for what I needed (a storage and assembly/disassembly rehearsal for a major prop to be used in a broadway show). Because of the crazy last minute nature of show-biz, Ive rented quite a few storage units over the years, all over the country and even the world... This "Extra Space" (in Hicksville, Long Island) was clean, affordable, convenient and the staff was friendly and accommodating. After I told them what I needed the space for, the salesman (Steve) found me a ground level outside unit that was easy for our truck to enter and exit. I should mention that although the lanes between the buildings is a bit narrow, the whole layout of the property is actually pretty good, which helped. I had a problem with my access code not working, but after a phone call to complain to them (via a 1-800 number that was on the door), the operator verified my account and gave me a code that worked, on the spot. The following day, I received a phone call from the salesman "Steve", apologizing for a computer entry mistake! That never happens! (that leads me to believe it was an honest mistake). The bottom line is this: If I need to, I will go back there again, and I recommend them to anyone looking for Extra Space.

I feel that Extra Space Storage is a great place to store my personal items. I found the staff to be quite helpful and accommodating especially because I was nervous about the security in putting my things into a self storage facility for the first time. I liked the idea of a gated entrance. They even took my finger prints when I signed up! I found it very clean and well lit. The staff told me that locks are checked every night to make sure that everything is secure. There is someone who lives on the premises and if I need to reach him after business hours, I was given his phone number. I would like to see more emergency call buttons on the floor, however. I was impressed by their climate control units, which I needed - Other places that I checked out were a joke. I would have wanted someone to be in the office on Sundays. The price was fantastic and competitive. Moving carts were readily available when moving in. The ease of entering since then with my code 7 days a week, has been totally fine. The option of Payment online is quite convenient. Overall, Im very pleased.

This facility is well maintained, temperature controlled and has a very professional and courteous staff and willing to help. Burnest the manager is very helpful in suggesting the space and will try to get the best price for you depending on the season. It could use a few more carts. There should be signs to show how to make wide turns around the corners so that the sidings don’t get bruised. Some siding needs to be fixed. When it rains hard it pours. but they clean it up right away. The hours are great and very convenient for 7 days. The facility is gated and need to enter code to get in which is great for security. Overall I would recommend the Hicksville facility for renting space.

Her eis a REAL review of this dump. Notice all the five star "reviews" are form "A Google User". Could they be fake reviews set up by Extra Space Storage? In all truth the place is a dump. Dirty, run down and the so called "indoor climate controlled" units are FREEZING in the winter and HOT as HECK in the summer. In the winter I have gone in a so called "climate controlled" unit and could see my breath! I can imagine the damage done to items with freezing temperatures in the winter, and hot, melting type temperatures in the winter. Avoid at all costs and go to Westy, for clean, real climate controlled units which only vary a few degrees, like between 68 and 74 I think.

The low price is just the beginning of what I can say about the Extra Space Storage in Hicksville. It is always clean, inside and outside. There is plenty of lighting and security features so safety is never a concern. I am there at many times of the day and there is always a cart around. However, it is the staff that made me actually make a post. Whether it was holding a door open, paying the bill or just my random questions, there is always a friendly smile and offer of assistance. I couldnt ask for a better staff or more satisfying facility.

Well the people who work were very nice and accommodating but I rated this poor/fair because there was water damage to my unit (on the second floor) and to all my paperwork, books inside the box. Not the kind of thing I can claim. Also, when we moved out it was the middle of the month and I was not given credit for time left. I was however given a pc. of paper which told me I should have a credit of $84.72 but it was NON-REFUNDABLE. Thats a load of crap, I should have kept it until the end of the month and had a party in it!

Extremely helpful and curteous staff. When my credit card was stolen and I had to cancel it, I forgot that my payment for the storage was auto debited from that card. The staff called when the payment was refused and was extremely helpful and no late charges occured. The units and surrounding areas are clean and safe. I feel my belongs are well taken care of and safe. There is always someone on the premise to help if a problem comes up. I would highly recommend this facility.

Customer service here is the best. I have never used an off site storage location before, so I really appreciate the professional service here. The staff was polite and very helpful. Burnest patiently answered all my questions and quickly had my rental application processed. This location is very clean, secure, and conveniently close to home. I especially appreciate the hours of access. As a very satisfied customer, I would highly recommend this Hicksville storage site.

I have had an indoor unit for the past 5 years and a drive up for the last 6 months. I have nothing but positive things to say about this facility after a bad experience with another. The site and units have all been very well maintained, and well secured. Burnest and Daquan have both been very accommodating to us, answering any questions we have had over the course of our lease.

Awesome storage facility. All of the staff are great, very nice and super accommodating. Ive never had any issues so far, which is great, because Ive rented from other storage facilities before where everything is run down and dilapidated... and then would take forever to fix. A great experience, these past 14 months that Ive been using Extra Space Storage of Hicksville

Great place, cheapest units I could find in the area. Staff is very friendly and they dont waste time everything goes quick and easy. I store my car here every winter the units and property are very clean and well maintained. I dont worry at all about leaving my car here feels safe and secure would definitely recommend to anyone looking for storage.
