I am very disappointed with Monro! I went there this morning to get my vehicle inspected. Instead of receiving an inspection and good customer service, I was berated with a very condescending lecture on the New York State Inspection process and how long it takes per car. I was told the soonest they could do it was next week. I was also told they have to hold cars overnight because they dont get through all of their inspections in a given day, which seems very strange. I immediately went to one of Monros main competitors for my inspection and received very friendly service and the inspection was completed in less than two hours. It was a night and day difference between Monro and the competitor. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Monro. While most shops dont profit very much, if at all, on inspections, they are a way to build longer business relationship with customers. In the near future, I will be in the market for new tires and other vehicle services. Based on my experience today, Monro will now be the last place that I consider.

Went in for an inspection and oil change. Same song and dance - need new brakes, something is leaking, lights dont work. Blah Blah. I figured the brake part was right as they were acting up so I had them fix it. So far so good. The car failed inspection though due to a "check engine" light. They reset it and said "come back in 50 miles. If the light is off we will pass the inspection." I asked, "will I be charged again for the inspection?" The guy replied "no, we will just check to see if the light is off and give you a new sticker if it is." I come back after 50 miles, light is off. The guy behind the counter today said they would charge a second time for the inspection. I told him that isnt what was promised and I received "too bad" as a reply. I had no choice but to take my business elsewhere. These guys are cons. Never again will I go to Monro. Uptown or downtown Im sure these criminals are shuffled back and forth between the two like a chain-gang.

Ive taken my 2 cars to these guys for inspections, oil changes, new tires and other services over the last couple of years I have to say they have always been straight with me (and Im a female). I bought new tires here as we priced them at a bunch of places and these guys matched the best price. Recently I took my car there to get an estimate on some work that another garage told me needed to be done and they looked at the car and found that nothing was wrong other than a loose heat shield. They saved me about $240 by finding that nothing was actually wrong and they charged me nothing to do it. I will continue to take my cars to this Monro and also recommend it to others.

I was travelling through Ithaca, and had an issue with a suddenly loud exhaust. I booked an appointment on the web, and was called back within the hour. I got there and they found two small holes in one of the pipes. They did not have a replacement in stock, but said that they wouldnt really want to replace it anyways since the holes were so small. They said that they could patch both and that it would be 90% good. Long story short, 45 minutes later they were done and sent me on my way. Free of charge. They could have easily charged me $50 or $100 for the labor and I would have been happy.

This place tried to take advantage of me because I am a student. I went there for a routine oil change. I know a good deal about cars. Everything they told me was completely exaggerated and they gave me an estimate of over $1400 for something that should have been no more than $300. Worse, when I left there my exhaust was making a terrible noise and my brake light and anti-lock brake lights came on (they looked at the exhaust and the brakes also). I did not get the work done there (will do it myself), so I am guessing they wanted to make sure I came back. Do not go here.

I am very disappointed. I went for an oil change, which they did, but I can clearly see that my engine is making more sound than before. Also, just 24 hours after the oil change, the check engine light came on. Plus they rotated my tires without asking me, (probably) as a result of which, the alignment also got screwed. Of course engine sound and alignment are things for which I can only go back and say, but cannot prove. Especially because the people very non-friendly, I do not feel like going back to them. I have to go to someone else. I am never again going to Monroe.

Awful experience. Went in for an oil change, inspection and for them to put my snow tires on. They called to tell me that one of my snow tires had a nail in it and it was unrepairable. They had already put on one of the tires so they charged me for a complete mount and balance. When I tried to argue when them about it they told me they dont do work for free. The guy was full of attitude. Then, he tried to charge me $50 for an oil change instead of the $20 they advertise online. Definitely will NOT be back and will tell everyone I know not to go there.

Like the other commenter suggested, went for a simple oil change, and they immediately found a number of problems that is going to cost ~700. I told the guy I am just a poor student, then he told me some of the services he suggested is not mandatory. My suggestion, unless you got money to burn, and wanted to be ripped off by these sleaze balls, go there. Otherwise, pick a better place for oil change

I had a nail in my tire. Called Monro even though it was close to closing time. They were waiting for us as we pulled in, fixed the tire quickly and at such a reasonable price. The staff here was so kind and professional and saved the day for us!

I called in to schedule an appointment to have 4 new tires put on my wifes Subaru Outback on 4/19/16 at 8:36am. Whoever answered the phone was terribly insulting and hugely unprofessional. I decided to get my tires at Sears.

Ive been taking my cars for years to Monro at 2309 N. Triphammer for both repair work and regular oil changes. Ive never had any problems with them or their work. Theyve always been honest and reasonable with me.

The customer service on the phone made it clear to me that this isnt the place to go to. I took my business to Midas instead where they at least knew how to talk and be helpful to their customers.

Same Inspection dance, they wanted to replace the entire steering rack saying it was bad. Took the car to another shop and they passed it no issue. These guys are cons. Stay away.

If you go here for a oil change they WILL find something wrong with your car. Its amazing how consistent they are is at finding problems.
