Worst Post Office Around! I have a package needed to sent to China, I asked the lady nicely about where should I write the address on, she told me "To" on the top and "From" on the bottom. So I had question and asked her again is that correct, she then gave me the attitude like Im a foreigner and I dont understand english. I wrote the address as she directed, then another lady took me to her counter, she said "the say you wrote the address is wrong", so I pointed at the lady said she told me to write this way, and she just yelled at me saying "NO, I DIDNT". Well, maybe she was too old to remember anything but I wasnt!!!! I will drive 30 minutes to Walden post office tomorrow, since the people who work there actually give a damn about customer.

For FIVE DAYS the mailwoman wouldnt deliver the mail because of a little hill of snow next to the mailbox (so much for rain, snow, sleet, and hail) so I went to the post office to pick up my mail. I was told I didnt have any. I was waiting for two checks that I needed for rent. Thinking this was very weird, I went to speak to the housemates about it, only to find out that another girl living in the house went to the office exactly 30 minutes after I was there and got all of our mail. The woman at the counter told her she "misplaced it" or "was looking in the wrong spot." She gave my friend an attitude and did not apologize. Between the carrier and the people at the counter, I barely got my rent in on time. Horrible.

Worst post office I have ever been, the older guy saw my package just asked me what do you wanna me to do with this, and the girl on the next counter just kept saying you need to write down on the box, I was like write down what? Then after i wrote down the address, I asked the older guy who is actually the counter I am at, is there anything else i should write down, and he answered you can write down whatever you want. I told them I thought you have the same way as UPS or Fedex, I give you address, you will print out label, and he thought I abused him? Are you kidding me?

This is by far the worst post office in the area. They are glacially slow at the counter (even if not to me - I see their attitude in general towards their customers). All other post offices in the area are great (Modena & Highland ESPECIALLY) but the New Paltz post office is the pits. I cant change who delivers my mail but I can certainly avoid the office when I need to do business at the counter and go elsewhere.

Shipped 3 boxes from New Paltz to California, one made it after 3 weeks, was completely destroyed and repacked and re-labelled incorrectly, we only got it because we tracked the number to another office. The 2nd made it after 4 weeks. The 3rd was sent back to New Paltz, reboxed with someone elses stuff in it (A BAG OF DIRTY BOTTLECAPS) NEVER SHIP WITH THE POST OFFICE, USE UPS OR FEDEX. USPS IS GARBAGE.

Post Office and government employees in general are lazy and slow. Living a life of entitlement where the hardest decision they have to make is whether or not to go to starbucks or dunkin donuts. Its amazing how, despite being lazy and slow, they still feel they are somehow better then civilians. The only government employees that deserve any respect are military personnel.

The staff here have a lot of patience, they are dealing constantly with college kids who are clueless about shipping policies and international students who speak no english..along with the local residents concerns as well. I give them credit. There are plenty of entitled brats from the college complaining...hmmm they have there own campus mail room why dont they use it!

Terrible service. I ask a question about where my package is and I get an attitude saying it should be on the truck (it wasnt, I spoke to the the mainwoman). This location is terrible. Ill spend the extra money and drive out of town to use UPS or FedEx from now on.

Very long lines with employees who dont work to solve problems that you may be having. Use Click-n-Ship whenever possible, if not, go to another Post Office for your own sanity.

Im not sure why fake people feel the need to rate things lowly. Maybe because they are fake. This is a fine, efficient, honest post office!
