On the whole the gravity vault in Poughkeepsie is an okay gym. I expected more from such a large chain. Despite the large surface for bouldering, the routes all seem cramped. Routes can be a little difficult to follow as they are marked only at the beginning and then use holds by color to designate the route. Normally this works fine fine; however, frequently to Route will diverge from the same start hold. Routes of similar colors are also frequently placed near each other, this makes it even harder to follow. I did not top rope while I was there, but those routes seem to be much better. There are a few autobelays and all stations seem to have grigris available.

Great place who will help you with just about everything! The climbing community is nice and welcoming in case youre new to the gym. This place also sells shoes, harnesses, etc in case you cant get what you need in the area. Only downsides are that they host parties and most of the children are unattended and interfere and walk below people climbing. Some of the climbing problems are also close to one another of the same color so it can get a bit confusing at times.

The first time I went there was to my friends birthday party. It was awesome! There was a variety of different places to climb, and most of them very high. However, its totally safe because you are harnessed to a rope while youre climbing so you dont fall. Its for all different ages and I highly recommend you to come. Its a very good place to fire off your energy and not only that but its amazingly fun!

Great Rock climbing place can get good deals depending on which days you go usually offers specials during certain time of the year. Great for parties and is a lot of fun for a group of people. Can get a little on the pricy side if you go often.

Always empty when I go (late) so no worries about waiting for routes. Friendly staff as well. They def need to be more consistent with their grading as the out walls are considerably easier than the inner walls of the same grade.

Unexpectedly way more fun than I thought it was going to be! Physically and mentally challenging. I dont like heights, but the staff always made you feel safe. Awesome experience!!

Great climbing gym with friendly staff. Lots of climbing routes to choose from with good mixture of difficulty. Includes youth routes, top rope and auto-belays, and lead climbing.

Amazingly good bouldering spot. Climbed all over and this bouldering experience is top notch. Worth it to go on Mondays as they have two for one climbing. Kid friendly too!

I dont boulder much but the top-rope routes are great. There are numerous routes of each difficulty so there are plenty of climbs to keep any climber busy.
