I gave this place a "very good" rating only because I was hoping for a barber shop experience, but its a salon, and because its a bit pricey. The stylists do know how to cut a mans hair though. I saw one older gentlemen barber and a woman named Heike. It was her turn so she cut my hair. I was worried at first, I usually only let male barbers touch my hair because I have a very classic style more often found in older gentlemen that women at salons are not usually good at. My hair is somewhat comparable to say Steven Colberts or Alec Baldwins. She actually did a really good job though, very good with clippers and she was very precise with scissors. My only gripe is they dont use straight edge razors (or at least not that I saw) so my neckline will be growing back much sooner. I think it was $17.50 for a mens cut. I never saw the price, but I gave her a $20 and she gave me $2.50 back and it kind of took me by surprise... so I left it as a tip. $20 dollar haircut... yikes.

I have been a client of of Tonys for years. He is down to earth, and a faboulus stylist. I was blessed (cursed?) with naturally curly hair. Now, not everyone knows how to cut curly hair appropriately. If you want bangs and the stylist doesnt leave length for curl shrinkage, you will look like an idiot. If you want layers and the stylist doesnt know how to work your curl pattern, you get steps in your hair. Curly hair has a mind of its own and you have to learn how to tame it appropriately. Every few months or so I get the urge to change up my hair and he goes with it, making my dreams a reality...before I get the urge to do it myself and end up with a hair disaster! He listens to what you want and works with you to find a style/color that will work for you. I get compliments on my hair all the time!

I would give my experience an A. I came in and got a same day appointment, and was treated with nothing but respect. I was looking to color my hair an auburn color (a color that my hairdresser at home sometimes has a hard time making) but the owner was able whip up the perfect shade that have me the perfect balance or red and brown. He was really funny and passionate about his business, and gave me a step-by-step of what he was doing to my hair and why. Overall my experience was amazing for cut and color and I will be going back soon.

When I came to school at SU, the same woman had cut my hair my entire life, so it was difficult for me to find someone to cut my hair who I was comfortable with. I found Tony Christopher on Marshall Street and have always loved to experience. Its always a great cut, but more than that, Tony is a blast to chat with on a wide range of different topics. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

Only Tony knew exactly how I liked my hair. I have since left Syracuse and it took a few years to find someone with that same talent. He became a good friend which we remain today. A wonderful family that I always enjoyed. Suzanne S
