I took my Lexus to Select because the "check engine" light was on; they put the car on their computer and told me I needed an emission sensor replacement. They did advise me that the emission sensor was not a critical issue. They also advised me that I could possibly correct the issue by replacing the gas cap, and resetting the "check engine" light. I ordered a new gas cap (+/_ $20.00), and had Select install it. I also requested that they advise me why one of my tire sensor pressure lights was on. They installed the $20.00 gas cap, told me the tire sensors were too difficult for them to install, and the check engine light was still the result of an emission sensor. I was charged $113.00 for this service. [i.e. $$93.00 to install a $20.00 gas cap, which needed to be screwed on.....] I took the vehicle to Hendrick Lexus, where they immediately diagnosed the check engine light as the result of a disconnected hose! The hose was disconnected because my engine mounts were old and in need of replacement. This did not require a computer; it was a diagnosis by a mere visual analysis of the problem. My husband called Select and spoke with the owner regarding the uselessness of their "diagnosis," and was told I would be contacted within 1-2 business days. Its been 3 months, and we have heard nothing about why I was charged $113.00 for about $30.00 worth of parts and service. = Would NEVER recommend Select, nor would we ever go there again for any type of "service."

Ive found my mechanic for life!!!! My pregnant wife and I recently had a breakdown on the way back from Charleston just three days before we were scheduled to leave town for the holidays. After first checking to see how close I was so that he could possible come get me himself, Jon connected me with a colleague who drove about 100 miles out of his way roundtrip to pick up my car and bring it back to Charlotte the next day. This after the local Charleston Acura dealer--you know, "the experts"--stumbled all over themselves trying to figure out why it wouldnt start so they could look at the computer. Jon had it for 15 minutes before determining it had a blown fuse. Morons! After that, he was able to fix what could have been a major engine issue for $400 instead of the $4000 Im sure the dealer wouldve tried to charge me. I was able to enjoy to my Christmas vacation knowing my car was in goods hands AND that I would be financially solvent when I returned. Through working with Jon and his team, Ive learned first hand that a good relationship with car people you can trust is PRICELESS! Jon and Wendy are great people, great friends and run the best place in town to take your car, hands down.

I’m usually leery of auto mechanics, they’re right up there with sly used car salesmen but my recent visit to Select Imports was a pleasant surprise. I had taken my car to the Honda dealership in September complaining about a scrubbing noise, but they claimed they were unable to find anything. Although that was music to my ears that day the persistent noise began to bother me as much as a screeching violin. My cousin recommended that I visit Select Imports; she had taken her vehicle there for years. I pulled in right at lunch time and explained my problem. They told me that they would take care of it. Sure enough I was in and out of there in no time riding like new. Select Imports just earned themselves a new faithful client! They will definitely help me keep my 2009 Honda Civic running like new! I could not say better things about Select Import Auto. I have trusted Jon and his staff with my Honda since I first moved to Charlotte (when they were The Honda Shop). As someone who knows very little about car maintenance, I can say that I have never felt that they have ever suggested something for my car that it did not need. Not only is Jon honest and sincere, but he has gone out of their way at times to help when it is necessary. Just last week I got a bit stranded before I could get my car back from them and Jon even suggested I drive his car home that night!!! If that isnt an example of someone who cares about their customers, I dont know what is! They were also able to find me four tires at a lower price then what they had initially quoted me. :) Great service, kind people.

Jon and all the folks at Select Imports have been extremely professional & service-oriented to my family & me for over 7 years now. Jon started working with me on my 89 Accord years ago and helped me get to 285k miles on it. They then helped in the purchase of a used Honda for my wife and 2 other car purchases, and we have become loyal Honda/Acura family customer largely due to them. They know us personally, they keep the maintenance histories & needs of our cars on computers and I feel like I get honest advice (i.e. they dont charge me unnecessarily). I have referred family & friend alike to them, and I would recommend them to you also.

Terrific customer service and very trustworthy. 7 years ago, I had a 96 Accord. I was having issues and neither Honda dealership in Charlotte could locate the problem. I took my car to Select Import and they fixed it in one day. Since then I have never been let down. The customer service is great and they are very trustworthy. The pricing is very reasonable and much cheaper than the dealership. To be honest, the next car I buy will most likely be dependent upon whether or not Select Import is able to service it because I dont think ill be able to find a better mechanic than Select Import.

Initially I was referred to Select Import Auto by a colleague. She said they were a bit pricey but definitely worth the cost. Ive been there a few times for various issues with my Accord and havent noticed much, if any, difference in cost. I can say though, that the experience with the staff is what sticks out to me and will make me return. Everyone that works there really seems to know cars and theyll take some extra time to try to explain things to you, so that you fully understand the problem/solution. Ive found my mechanics for life!

I am so happy that I found Select Imports! The team is great. They were patient and thorough in explaining to me what repairs my car needed and what our options were. They were also transparent about getting our car fixed up in the most cost-effective way. Thats hard to find. They fixed my car within the day -- when I expected it to take several. And their location is close enough to the light rail line that I could drop the car off in the morning and then take the train into uptown for work. Highly recommended.
