BACKGROUND: I talked to Johanna over the phone for quite some time as well as via email to coordinate cleaning services for my home. The phone service she uses to call (sounds like Skype) is very hard to hear her and since there is a HUGE lag she just kept talking over me and interrupting me the entire time. I asked her multiple times to please email because I like to keep everything in writing and I cannot talk on the phone during my work hours (unless emergency). Unfortunately she didnt follow through with this. I was very clear of the standards we expected for this cleaning. I expected to come home to a clean home. Johanna even went to the extent to say her team cleans EVERYTHING except insides of appliances and all windows (though theyd clean a few if they needed them - which was find since only 2 windows need regular cleaning). I explained that we needed quality cleaning and even sent her a check list to make sure everything is done in the house (this is the same list we use to clean our home - we do bi-weekly service and we clean between our scheduled cleaning). I told Johanna that we had 4 large dogs and 2 of them are crated but the other 2 roam around (and that her team could put them in a room they arent cleaning if they dont want them around and then to move them to another room when they need to get in that one. our dogs are very well behaved and listen well so this isnt any issue). Johanna is very scared of dogs but reassured me that her team is used to working around dogs and it would be no problem. I requested that her team use our Kirby vacuum as to not bring in debris, fleas, smells, powders, etc. from other homes as this has been an issue in the past with allergies in the house. Johanna said this was no issue. I told her where to look on youtube to make sure her team was comfortable changing out the heads on the vacuum. My sister was here to let them in and I arrived shortly after to teach them again how to change the vacuum heads out as this is very important in cleaning the house. I had taken off part of the day to stay home with them and work remotely until they leave. THE CLEANING: I requested them to come around 9-9:30am but Johanna insisted they come at 8am (and with traffic could be as late as 8:30 but not likely). They showed up at 8:45am for the FIRST cleaning come to find out they are TERRIFIED of dogs (my sister locked them in a room for them so they didnt have to deal with it). I arrive home to them trying to work the vacuum and saying it is not working. I realized it was full so I changed out the bag and checked to make sure it was working and then sent them about doing their job (told them I could help again with the head changing if they needed it). Shortly later they call me again saying the vacuum wasnt working. I checked everything again and it was working properly but they insisted it wasnt. I had them use their vacuum (one of the ladies was so kind as to change the filter before as to make it so we dont get carpet powder from other houses in our house). The vacuum they used was a backpack vacuum and it was very poor quality. There is still stuff all over our floors and carpets throughout the whole house. Im not sure if they even cleaned the bathroom floor upstairs as I took a paper towel and cleaned up a little spot I noticed which would have easily come up if they cleaned the floors with any type of sanitizing agent. They did not use any vacuum attachments to clean around or under larger furniture or the perimeter of the rooms. This was all VERY clear in the list I left. Small things like the basket of blankets, coffee table, etc should be moved to clean under them - not done. AFTER THE CLEANING: I emailed Johanna to let her know of these issues (with pictures). She CALLED (again!) and said shed send someone by at 4:30 which I told her would not work as I had to work until 7pm but she could come the next day or following week when it worked for her. She never bothered to call back or email.

If you are looking for help tidying things up, look no further! I had Jeanie and Lus at my home today and they were absolutely amazing! Not only were they professional, but they were such a pleasure to have around! They literally cleaned my whole house from top to bottom, and I mean EVERY corner and crevasse. They cleaned the carpets in my house and did a better job than Stanley Steamer! Cannot stress enough what a wonderful impression these ladies left with my family! Allowing strangers in your home can be intrusive, but Maid in Raleigh handles it with such finesse. Prices are reasonable and results are top notch! Youd be hard-pressed to find anyone better. We needed some help getting our house ready to put on the market after ~4 years of sporadic upkeep. Joanna and Jeanie originally came a little earlier than scheduled to get it done, but we werent quite ready for them with some of the other prep we had going on and they offered to come back later. After fighting through late afternoon traffic to get back to us, they spent a long hours getting the place spotless; not leaving until 9pm that night! Pictures the next day were perfect! The Maid in Raleigh crew is hardworking, dependable, and they left the place looking great even though it needed a lot of attention at the end of a very long day. My heroes!!!! A old and dear friend of mine had just had a brain tumor removed and has not been home in six weeks. And she said when she got home she just wanted a clean house. So we (friends) got together and collected some money and had Maid in Raleigh come out and clean her house. Of course I had to cancel several times but they hung with me until she finally got a release date to go home. They came out and did a wonderful job of cleaning her house!!! I was so proud and happy!!! Bless them all for working with me. Keep up the good work and I highly recommend them!!!! Thanks .. Love me some Maid in Raleigh

We used Maid in Raleigh for about 5 cleanings - more than a good test. The more we used them the less they did even though it was on an every time list. They are driven by the clock and not by the job quoted. We have had enough - finishing the basic cleaning right after they leave and in some cases redoing hardwoods. I no longer can recommend. I give them 2 star only because the first 2 cleanings were okay - not great but okay. Downhill since then to 59 minutes and quit.
