I have mixed feelings about my experience. The lobby was comfortable, the customer service was good. I made an apointment for an oil change,came in on time, they took my car back, two hours later told me it was finished. I asked them to replace a bulb I was having issues getting to, so Im sure that took a little time, found out it was something to do with the wiring, the mechanic didnt pursue the issue any further per my request, I cant imagine it taking 2 hours. Ive done the oil on this vehicle before and it took me all of 15 minutes. (I drive a 99 mercedes and really hate doing the change, hence the reason I brought it in) Im giving the benefit of the doubt though, maybe theres a variable Im missing. But if that was the case there wasnt any communication with me during that two hour wait, except for near the end when I was asked if I would like an oil conditioner. At the end I was givin a break down of 1400 dollars worth of work that was recommended. I felt like some of the recommendation were legit, but most seemed bogus. A handful of flushes, etc. If you have a high end, specialized vehicle, Im sure these guys offer something others dont. But I have been to much better mechanics in the area. Just my opinion

I took my older Volvo in to Performance to address some issues including a check engine light and headlights so dim I can barely drive at night. I got an estimate of more than $3600, and we trimmed the list down to $1800. Was told there was nothing wrong with my headlights, and old cars will just never be bright (okay but I have to be able to see a little, right?). Was told my rotors were absolutely warped, needed replacing along with new pads. Passed on that service, had my stepdad do it. He said the rotors were absolutely fine. Not just okay to drive with but absolutely fine, they only needed to be placed in a certain way. He replaced the pads, and my car brakes perfectly smooth now. The customer service was fine at Performance, everyone was very polite. However, no oil change on a 98 is worth nearly $100 and the thing with the rotors made me wonder what else my car did not actually need. Just a very expensive experience that left me uneasy.

With my daughter being 550 miles from home attending UNCW I knew the day would come when I got a phone call, Dad my car isnt right. Well yesterday was that day and for the first time I found myself on the other side of the counter as a customer instead of the mechanic. I chose Import Performance based on the reviews I found online as many of my customers have found me the same way. My experience was terrific, Rebecca was not only very friendly and professional but also saw to it that my daughter got back to campus. Within an hour of my duaghter dropping the car off, Rebecca called letting me know what the issue was and what it would cost. I also liked the fact that she included the sales tax with the estimate so I would know the total cost. In addition my daughter (who spent several summers working in my shop) was impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. Her comment was you could tell it had a womans touch.

I know this place specializes in imports, but my car Chrysler broke down in Wilmington yesterday and not being from the area, I did not know who to call. Randomly, I picked Import Performance off the Internet because of the great reviews. I described my problem and was told they could help me (was expecting major electrical problems). AAA towed my car to them and I became a captive customer who knew I was very much at their mercy at this point...... What a great staff- from owner to mechanic to receptionist at the front desk. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and efficient. They could have take me to the cleaners had they so chosen- but they didnt. They told me all I truly needed was a simple battery replacement, did so, and sent me on my way. You can tell these are honest folk! Yay and thanks! :)

I took in my 95 volvo to get the A/C Compressor replaced, and called almost every import shop in town as well as this one. Not only was this shop the lowest quote, but they were the ONLY one to go through exactly what they would do with the price of each part and the labor associated. To top the already excellent customer service, they had my car done and ready for pickup at closing the next day. Not to mention that my car broke down the tuesday of christmas week. To sum it all, this shop is where you want to go with your import. The office staff and mechanics are some of the nicest people you will ever want to meet and are willing to take to the time to explain exactly what is going on and exactly how they will fix it.

Exceptional customer service, quick and reliable repairs, and extremely competitive prices. Owner, Talin Germain, took extra time explain what needed to be repaired and exactly why it needed to be done. He also informed me of additional maintenance that would likely need to be done in the next six months, without pressuring me to make unnecessary repairs. As a professional woman, the obvious dedication to providing clear explanations and a low pressure approach to ongoing maintenance, made me feel like I could trust Import Performance to help me keep my car running smoothly. Great experience. I will definitely make Talin and Import Performance my "partner of choice" for car repair and maintenance.

Today was my second time choosing Import Performance, and I had another great experience! The staff is very friendly and even stayed after hours so I could pick up my car when I got off work. They gave me a loaner vehicle for free so I still got everything done today that I needed to with no issues! I like that they inspect and give you a breakdown of all the recommended maintenance. It can be considered up-selling, but its informative and honest. For example; they told me that my timing belt is starting to crack, but that it will last another year. Their prices are competitive and the service is above and beyond for the price. Thank you!

Having turned a wrench many many times (think clutch replacement etc) I know a good mechanic when I find one. I was really bummed that I hadnt found one in Wilmington. Had a GREAT team in Raleigh. Talin is as good as it gets. Hes definitely the most professional mechanic Ive seen... his shop is immaculate.... theres plenty of room for him to work. His computer support systems for ordering parts etc is great. Hes perfectly happy to counsel you on making your own repairs. He has very fair pricing on parts, and hes not doing any funny business with his hours. I couldnt be happier, or give a higher rating to Talin!!!!! Sonny Rains CFP

I bought a used 4Runner from a used car dealership and later found it needed some work. After getting a quote from a Toyota dealership, it was a very large sum of money. Then I found Import Performance; and since some of the work was under a used dealership warranty they were very helpful in communicating with the dealer and coordinating a smooth transaction. I have the car back now and it is fantastic, quiet, clean as I left it. I highly recommend Talin as he is a very neat, efficient, and trustworthy mechanic.
