Ive been using these guys for 10 years now for strictly oil changes but their every day low $19.99 isnt so special anymore especially when you are waiting for an hour or more. Ive been using Wilmington Tire & Auto, Midas (buy one, get one free coupons), and even the dealerships mail out coupons which I jump on b/c they provide a 72 pt. inspection and invite you into the shop to look at repairs needed. Customer service is critical in any business. Positives about Mobile Tech: -The owner Dave knows a thing or 2 about cars. -North Market is new, clean shop with good seating room. -Good diagnostic equipment for newer cars. Negatives about Mobile Tech: -The owner is arrogant, never takes responsibility when something goes wrong and was never taught the customer is always right (relatively speaking) because you know if you didnt have customers, youd go out of business and Wilmington has a lot of competition in the auto repair biz. -Their labor pricing is high in comparison to other shops in town. Get a second opinion from another shop and youll see what I mean. For example, if you get brake work done, theyll charge you for a can of brake cleaner for the front left/right and a can of brake cleaner for the rear left/right. OK, so this is minor $ but when you have a $4,000 job that can be a different story with all the duplicate material cost so carefully examine. To assume the customer is ignorant about how much materials and parts reqd to do the job is foolish and manipulative. -Since their 2nd business opened on North Market St, they have been backed up for weeks. Call them now and youll see what I mean. Yes, you could say its b/c they are the busiest auto service shop in town but is it or are they playing catch up? -Very slow to respond to return calls or nothing at all. -They are more than happy to accept appointments which they are knowingly back up but take work anyways. So these are just a few things Ive noticed about this business. If you are patient and have all the time and money in the world, maybe Mobile Tech is the right fit for your car needs but for the folks that work hard for their money and have limited time, I would suggest going somewhere else.

For starters, I have the worst luck with cars. I should probably just commit to being Amish. I dont typically write reviews, but today I feel compelled to. I have brought a couple of my cars to MobileTech over the last three years. Always last minute, always in a rush and always with upmost ignorance when it comes to automobiles. Most of my descriptions of what I believe is wrong with my car involved a lot of poorly executed sound effects and is probably worthy of being laughed at. Yes, MobileTech is competitive. They are a business. They have bills. They have employees who have bills. As a general manager myself, I dont see this as an issue. I dont see it as an issue because they have never 1) turned me away, 2) treated me unfairly, 3) been rude to me, 4) made me feel as if I had been taken advantage of. They do what they say theyre going to and they do it efficiently, successfully and in what I feel is a rather short amount of time for a mechanic and Ive dealt with a lot of mechanics in the last 12 years. Theyre human, they make mistakes but they own them. That says a lot all in itself. Today, I had an appointment with them which I called to cancel at the last minute because I got tied up at work and no longer had the liberty to leave the building and drop off my car. I was met with a counter offer from Josh that I was not prepared for. Rather than reschedule for another day, they offered to come pick up my car for me. From a professional standpoint, I tip my hat. There arent a lot of businesses that are run by what I often refer to as "real people" anymore. They have personal standards as well as professional. I appreciate that. From a personal standpoint, even if I can get the job done for $20 cheaper down the road, Im still going here because they stand by their work, their word and I know Im getting what Im paying for and then some. I dont need to be greeted by lounge chairs and red carpets, I need to be greeted by no bs honesty and depart with my moneys worth and thats exactly what I get. Every time. I think Dave runs a fine business and for that, he can have mine.

Was referred by a friend to take my 05 Tacoma to MobileTech for regular maintenance and repair so I gave them a try. First few visits for oil change and tire rotation were ok but when my valve cover gasket started leaking it was down hill from there. Dropped it off in the AM and 7 hours later got a call that it was ready so I went and picked it up, checked for oil leaks as it sat there and ran, paid and drove home. When I got home I noticed oil had puddled up on the valve cover, I soaked it up wiped it all down and that was that. Next day I drove to the hardware store was in there for 30 minutes or so and when I came out I noticed oil under the front of the truck so I popped the hood and sure enough oil was puddled up on the valve cover again. When I got home I soaked it up and got a flash light to get a better view and I saw there was white stuff around the bolt closest to the firewall. I took it back up there that afternoon to show them what I found and after the guy at the counter talked to the mechanic that did it he told me this "The bolt that holds the valve cover in place was stripped, our mechanic put welding putty on the end of the bolt, in the bolt hole, and at the head of the bolt to hold it in place as a temporary fix but eventually you will need to get it fixed" At this point I was speechless I wanted to know why they didnt tell me that when I picked it up, why they werent going to fix it when clearly it was their mistake they tried to hide and NOT mention. I bought the truck brand new and this was the first time the valve cover had been removed. As expected no one wanted to admit to the damage, apologize for it or fix it. I offered to pay half the repair cost to fix it and make it right and still nothing. I have had several people ask me about taking their vehicles there and after telling this story they dont as they shouldnt. This all goes back to the old saying "you get what you pay for". If I could post pictures on this review of the damage I would.

Terrible customer service at Mobile Tech. Josh was extremely rude and condescending. He was even rude to people who called in on the phone to check on their vehicles. If I were the owner of MT and I heard the way Josh spoke to me, I would have fired him on the spot. I will never take my car back there again, and I will warn others against doing so. This is a response to Mr. Friend. This is my kids account. Anyway, I was absolutely not late to my appointment. I had a 2:00 appointment, and I was there at 1:55. I was five minutes early. I was not told when I checked in that there would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. I asked Josh at 2:40 when does he think my car would be looked at. He told me I should feel lucky about being seen at all, because they were turning people away. I should feel lucky? I had an appointment. He could have said he was sorry that they were backed up, but he didnt. I asked him what the number hanging from my car review mirror meant, and he said it meant somebody put it there. He continued to be condescending when all I wanted to know is how they went about their procedures of being seen. He also walked over to me and handed me my keys, and said if I was in a hurry that I could leave. I went out of the building twice. I had to call the owner of the car to tell him that it hadnt been seen yet, and what was going on. I went back in to check on the two kids that were with me, and I walked back out to call my work. That is not erratic behavior. I get it that you are taking up for your employee, but he isnt being honest.
