Very disappointed with this company. My boyfriend and I rented from them this year. We fell in love with the apartment and moved in almost immediately. Upon moving in, the apartment was dirty and obviously not cleaned before we rented it. The toilets were black with dirt, there was dust everywhere, and big stains on the carpet that were never taken care of when the previous tenant moved out. The yard was covered in shards of broken glass, and the fence was missing posts. We completed a move-in inspection form. The majority of problems were cosmetic, so we fixed them ourselves, but to get the fence fixed took several months, and lots of phone calls to both the maintenance person, and the office. The rest of the issues on the move-in inspection were never taken care of. Approximately 6 months into our 12 month lease, we experienced a shoot-out in front of our home. We watched from our couch as two men shot at eat other. We went to Town and Country to let them know we needed to leave, and even though it was an issue of our safety being in jeopardy, they said we had a lease and could only move out when other tenants moved in. So we waited. We finally were able to move out, and we scrubbed the apartment from top to bottom. We rented a rug doctor and cleaned the carpets, we spackled holes in the wall and repainted them. We cleaned up as much dog poop as we could find and mowed the lawn. We got down on our hands and knees and scrubbed the base boards. We bleached the toilets. You name it, we did it. We left that apartment cleaner than it was when we had moved into it. After waiting 30 days to get our security deposit back, I arrived at Town and Country Real Estate to pick up our check only to find that they gave us back $457.00 out of $800. They stated that theyd had to have the carpets professionally cleaned and had to have a company come in to clean up after us. The invoice states that they "swept and mopped, cleaned the refrigerator, and did yard maintenance". All things that had already been done. All of the invoices are dated 6/2/14. Days after the new tenants were supposed to have moved in. I spoke to them, and got no where. They ripped us off. And theyll rip you off too if you rent from them. Stay away if you know whats good for you and your family.

The worst real estate company I have ever dealt with moves into a house through them repairman was suppose to come and hang towel racks before we moved in never happened. Upon moving out to insure our deposit me and my wife rescreened the back porch because of holes that were previously there. Being newly weds and excited about our wedding we forgot to take pictures. One month before we moved out the air unite went down so thinking its the filter we get a new one, not the case apparently the motor was wired wrong and that take $85 right out of our deposit we hired a family friend out of our pockets that has a cleaning company to come in and clean the house upon moving town and country hit us for cleaning fees also the best is when they hit us with another $355 for painting which by law in North Carolina the have to paint the house before renting anyways so after that take all our security deposit for leaving a house in better shape then when we moved in and never once late on rent to top it off they sent us a bill for $165 for repairs. lesson learned take pictures and dont go through town and country

This is the most garbage company I have ever had the displeasure of renting from. They will charge you for literally anything including something that was there and visually shown from their stock photos! I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. The neighborhood we lived in was constantly riddled with loud music and random cars parking in people drives. The neighborhood had trash from the entrance to the circle. Constantly fighting between people in the neighborhood and nothing was ever done about it. I spoke with a neighbor who said her problem with her house had to be addressed with her own safety inspector. I am very disappointed with how they handle things. I will take responsibility for my actions and handled had no problems giving my deposit for damages that I caused. The issue here is that damages were clearly shown in the pictures of the property before moving in. Absolute garbage. So glad to be free from them.

Todd the owner of Town and Country Property Management talks big and tough when he wants you to sign a year lease but when push come to shove he wimps out. If the tenant has a complaint the management company does not relay the complaint to the property owner so the situation can be remedied. It frustrates the tenants and they end up moving out due to lack of getting issues resolved. So my thought is renters think it the homeowners are just collecting their rent and not caring about them as renters. That is not true. The owner are not getting the information to get the issues remedied.

The jury is still out. Contacts in the past with these folks proved very disappointing. Our priorities did not seem to matter, frankly speaking; or theirs mattered more. Now--- another year, another lease expiring, another TandC listing we are in love with. Jenna did contact me today with a thorough, customer focused response to an inquiry. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
