Very bad experience while checking out the club with the GM of the facility. I had a 5-day free pass to try out the gym. I went in and tried to use it and I was told "we dont like to give out those 5 day passes unless you sign up first - you can cancel your membership within 5 days". I go to Fitworks right now for $10 per month. LA Fitness would be $30 per month. I wanted to try it out for the 5 days and go at different times of the day to see how busy it was to see if I would have to wait around to use the equipment. The GM kept telling me that I am beating around the bush and didnt understand why I couldnt just sign up because I already know what gyms are like... I didnt want to commit until I knew I wanted to join and I was being pressured very badly. I didnt want to spend an extra $20 per month unless I really liked it. He asked what my job was. When I told him he was like "Oh come-on you can easily afford this", acting like money is not an issue. I dont make a lot, and I have 2 kids, a wife, a house, 2 car payments, etc. so with him saying this it really offended me. Now, on my overall experience of the gym alone... I was very unimpressed with the free weight and machine area. I can honestly say that Fitworks has more equipment in that area. I feel no need to spend the extra money for fewer machines and a busier atmosphere. Also, the information he was spouting out to me badmouthing Fitworks was completely incorrect. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY. Dont give him your phone number either because he will keep on hounding you. I will never step foot in that place again.

While visiting Dayton on a business trip, I was happy to find an LA Fitness that allowed me to get in a good workout. The gym was very clean and looked very modern. They have an indoor track upstairs and what I would call a very unique room for spin class (looks like large yellow silo). There were plenty of treadmills and elliptical machines upstairs as well. I showed up at 5:00pm and had no trouble getting time on the machines I needed for my leg day. My only complaint about the gym was the shortage of free weights in the free weight area. I had to walk around a few times searching for enough 45lb plates for my leg press. But I consider that a tiny issue that did not stop the workout. Another plus for this gym is the close proximity of a parking garage (right across the street) which means no shortage of parking. A huge plus when you just want to get in the gym. Overall, I think this is a top notch gym that I wish I could be a permanent member of!

Decent workout location, a lot of equipment, but most of it hasnt been updated for years. Edit: Dropping my rating to 1 star. Since Urban Active has been taken over by LA Fitness, this place has gone to shambles. The equipment frequently is out of order, all of the good trainers have left, and the last straw? They recently dropped an hour off of the operating hours on Mon-Thurs, Saturday and Sunday WITHOUT notifying anyone beforehand. The first day, tons of people came in at 6pm (the new closing time) and had no idea that it closed at that time. Terrible customer experience.

La Fitness at greene Dayton Ohio is extremely mismanaged and decaying--I feel they discriminate against women and are unprofessional--if you are looking for a personal fitness facility--then this is for you, but if you are looking for a friendly gym--BEWARE--and if you have a partner you train with there is NO COACHING ALLOWED while the mgrs sit in their office and laugh / criticize everyone that walks threw the door---was a member there for 5 months--would not recommend!!!

Great equipment and spacious gym with an appropriate amount of members— never super crowded or anything. But you wont find the "community" here as you would with smaller gyms. Staff doesnt really remember you and front desk staff isnt genuinely nice...youre just another face regardless of how long youve been here. Lastly, Im no sure why, but it always seems hot/stuffy in here although I see air conditioning/ventilation ducts installed...maybe too cheap to turn it on? Idk...

LA Fitness bought this from Urban Active. Urban Active destroyed this place. If LA fitness invests a little money in upkeep and replaces most of the equipment it could be one of the nicest gyms around. Until then, 1 star. The LA Fitness down the road is very nice though. But as an LA Fitness member I would like the choice of going to both and as it is I wont step foot in this place.

Reception desk people are not very pleasant. They say how are you and yet will not even look at you. If they are the faces you see every morning to represent the gym and the company, its so much better to skip going through the front desk if possible.

Very clean facilities and friendly staff, but it would have been nice to have a fan somewhere. At our location (we are visiting from out of state), we not only have fans built into the treadmills, but lots of ceiling fans. Makes a big difference.

It never crowded. There place is spacious. I never had to wait long for a machine. People are generally nice and dont bother us when working out. Unlike some gyms, I dont see many people standing around talking people while blocking equipment.

Terrible place. waste of money when there are much cheaper options that are arguably better than LA Fitness (like Fitworks). everything is dirty, weights never put up, the employees are rude, it is just all around a bad facility.

My boyfriend and I love it. The staff is amazing and so nice. I never felt comfortable at a gym but they make me feel so comfortable there. Everything is spaced out. I would recommend this gym to everyone.

Love this place! Great instructors, clean, and equipment is maintained. The ladies in childcare knew my sons by name the second time he came in. They are always friendly and playing with the children.

Been a member for 7 years, great facilities and awesome service. Personally recommend Brandon Isaacs if you need a trainer. Positive attitude and knowledgeable! Love using the pool and sauna.

Place can be a little crowded during certain times. It gets stupid cold in the winter so dress warm. Other than that an overall great gym.
