This place is great! Im not a buff body builder or anything, but there are plenty of those type that live here. PRICE: extremely affordable at $9.99 per month and no contract (but they do auto-withdrawal it from your credit card). Keep in mind that there are multiple levels of membership and the cheapest one doesnt allow you to bring in a friend, but I think it would make financial sense to get a work out buddy and split the cost of the more expensive plans, which really arent even expensive. The personal training is around $80/ month and is well worth the cost. STAFF: very friendly people who say hello and goodbye. They even hold the door open for you. The nice manager gave me a thorough tour and explained their pricing and perks very plainly. He wasnt a schemer and wanted to help me, not steal my wallet. Jeremiah, a personal trainer, helped me to pick a plan and gave me a good initial workout. Rich is another wonderful trainer and he has decades of experience and it shows! He holds educational seminars about working out and he has certifications and some higher education. Most of all hes super experienced, kind, funny, inspirational and encouraging. ENVIRONMENT: The air doesnt smell like a gym at all. I frequently see people cleaning and vacuuming. There are lots of machines, 2 cardio movie theaters, spinning class, yoga place and a large free-weight area. This isnt a Hollywood-level, mega expensive place, so its not the most up-to-date place and the equipment isnt all new. A ritzy fella may even say its run-down. Im here to get in shape though, not critique them for an article in Good Housekeeping. Im glad hey arent wasting my money on re modeling the place because its FINE how it is. The machines are rarely out of service and seem to be repaired fast. The locker room is clean and has showers and a sauna. Ive never seen this place too crowded to work out and only rarely do I have to wait for anything to be open. They are open 24 hours/day Monday thru Fri and close earlier on weekends. I really wish they would truly operate a 24/7 schedule.

I couldnt in good conscience give this gym 5/5 stars, despite how much I enjoyed working out there for a little over a year. My tl;dr summary is that you cannot beat this gym for the money, but its just short of perfection in my personal opinion. The good: Let me be very clear about this point-- The staff is AMAZING. I worked with two different trainers and both were fantastic. Everyone is always cheerful, friendly, and happy to help if you have any questions. They also have a huge selection of machines and free weights. You will be very hard pressed to find a better gym for the money!! The bad: The gym is a bit dirty and some of the equipment isnt in great shape. It seems like one of the several cable machines is always broken, many of the machines are missing the weight selector pins, and some of the pleather on the seats and seats and benches are cracking. Other than those minor gripes, the weights and machines are perfectly adequate. The ugly: If it werent for this issue I wouldve given the gym 5/5 stars, but this really upsets me. Before I moved out of the state I asked someone at the front desk how I should cancel my membership after I leave the area. He told me to call a phone number he gave me in order to cancel. Sounds easy, right? Well, when I moved out of state and called the number they told me that I either have to cancel my membership in person at the gym, OR SEND A LETTER TO CORPORATE ASKING THEM TO CANCEL THE MEMBERSHIP. In this day and age I think thats totally unacceptable! and I cant help but feel like this is designed to make it harder to cancel your membership. Overall Im very pleased with my experience at FitWorks and would recommend it to others...with the caveat that they seemingly make it difficult to cancel your membership.

Great, Friendly Staff and pretty transparent about the initial contract & maintenance which is rare in a gym. The bad: A lot of the machines are awkward or not very ergonomic; taking up 60% of the space. I felt like a lot of machines (glute kickback, lat pulls, quad ext.) were made for some other sized person and werent even close to customizable to my size (61"). They include ~$42 in quarterly maintenance. I see people clean, but the classroom floors and gym floor get lots of grit and dirt on you if you are doing push-ups and the like. I had my bank reissue my credit cards, so the card on file went dead. Fitworks will include a $20 penalty per person - so I get dinged a couple of times. They will not refund or comp this money no matter how soon you try to correct. I would prefer if theyd spend the money calling me like adults so I can remit the correct new data.

Friendly staff. The gym was very nice and clean. We went around lunchtime and it was not very crowded at all. I loved the movie theater cardio rooms. The only complaint that I have is the surprise fees they throw at you when you decide to get a membership. They advertise as 10 dollars a month per member for the basic membership. There is a 49 dollar enrollment fee which is just fine...however, when we agreed on this membership, while we were in the middle of getting things set up she told us about how there is also a yearly charge for all members of 40 dollars. It was just a bit of a shock to us....she explained it is to help with maintenance of the facility and every member pays it, it just would have just been nice to know about this charge when we were discussing the different memberships, not after we decided to go with the gym.

Credit where credit is due: several months ago I made my original review and gave the place 2/5 stars, based largely on how unclean and messy a lot of the gym was, as well as it not being 24 hours and a few other minor shortcomings. I do not know if my review had anything to do with it, but I have certainly noticed a welcomed increase in cleaning and maintenance, especially in the locker rooms. The locker rooms are now clean, the drinking fountains arent leaking, and the trash isnt piling up. Overall its now a well-kept gym and I would recommend it to anyone in the area. As of now, my only complaint is their closing a little early on the weekends and the apparent inability of some patrons to clean up after themselves in the free-weight area, but I suppose thats out of managements control.

I first started with physical therapy at Fitworks. Even though I was doing therapy and not a member of Fitworks all of the Fitworks employees were so nice and helpful whenever I needed it. Once my therapy was over I decided to join the gym. And again, all the employees were so nice and helpful whenever I needed it. I now have a personal trainer twice a week and all of the trainers are so helpful and really put you through a workout. I still have limitations from an injury, but the trainers are very knowledgeable and are able to work around my limitations to still give me a good workout and help me to get out of having limitations. I would recommend Fitworks on Indian Ripple Road, Beavercreek, Ohio to anyone. The place is a great place to workout at and make new friends.
