Never got to try the gelato. I was waiting in a large line where they had one employee dipping the gelato and the other standing idle by the cash register. I used to work in the ice cream business and this is an ineffective way of operating when there is a long line, but I let that go. They have a system so the one dipping doesnt sully her hands with money. I can live with that. However, while I was waiting, a friend of the cashier brought in the cashiers little dog. The cashier immediately ran up to the dog and started petting it and loving on it with both of her hands. She then went into the gelato and scooped out a sample with a sample spoon for her pooch!!! At this point I left. Already a little frustrated at how slow the line was moving, then slightly put off by the employees reaction to seeing her dog, then ultimately disgusted at how she scooped some gelato with unclean hands to feed her dog. Dont know if I will go back... Response: I havent done anything to earn a free gelato so I thank you for the offer but I must decline. But I am more inclined to stop by next time im in the area and in the mood for the Italian style ice cream. Thanks for the reply and offer, Ill move my ranking to a 3 star for now and maybe higher after I taste your product. PS. I dont hate puppies, I just dont want puppy hair in my ice cream. Thanks.

My friends and I just had dinner and definitely needed dessert. So we walked down the street to this place. Its been on my to-do list for a while and Im glad I could finally make it happen! It was a Saturday night around 7:30p. While the service wasnt great at all (they seemed either bored or annoyed that we were there) the gelato was great! Dad and I both ordered a half pint for $5. We were able to pack it with three different flavors which was awesome! I got White Chocolate Raspberry, Hazelnut Chocolate Chip and Cookies N Cream. Dad got Cookies N Cream, Salted Caramel and Chai. My favorite ended up being the Cookies N Cream, while dad really enjoyed the Salted Caramel. The Hazelnut was nice, too - it had a pretty rich flavor! While the macarons looked beautiful, I resisted. Mostly thanks to the price vs. size. But Im sure theyre delicious. This was a fun visit - I usually just go to Graeters. So this was a nice change. I just wish the device was friendlier.

Going to Buona Terra is like taking a trip to Europe. They have three main items that they sell which includes Italian Gelato, French Crepes, and French Macarons. Their design and menu are simple but very high quality. My friends and I love the fact that the staff is amazingly friendly and appear to be very passionate and knowledgeable about their treats. So glad Cincinnati has a gem like this located in the Mt. Lookout/Hyde Park area. They just started serving Italian style coffees, can’t wait to come back for one of those!

I ordered a 12 inch gluten free cake for a work event. Of course I was anxious to please my work crowd and had never ordered anything from Buona Terra. The cake was ready at pick-up time and decorated just as I requested. It looked delicious as it was being cut up, with the yellow cake and chocolate filling in perfect layers. It was a delicious and fabulous cake! Co-workers raved! Thank you for a perfect cake which made our event even more special!

Wow! Ive had gelato in Italy, and this is so close (the closest Ive ever had in the States), I loved it! Drug the family from Fairfield to go down, and everyone agreed it was worth the drive. My only advice is that you better know how to parallel park, and bring a couple quarters if youre there before 6pm on Saturday. And hey, try a crepe - not overwhelmingly sweet, just tasty.

I tried this place for the first time the other week and loved it. Its located on Delta Ave with a few other nice restaurants around it, but this is the only dessert place I saw. I had a gelato and bought a macaroon for later. They were both excellent. I plan to come back and try the crepes that they make.

Its a real gelato for sure, NOT ice cream, which is already noteworthy. Tastes are probably a little bit sweeter than Italian standard, but theyre ok. Mango was, I thought, really good. I was expecting the chocolate to be a little bit tastier though!

The gelato here puts another definition onto creamy, and pulls off the airy feel gelato should have. I wont say its the best you can find in town, but itll still knock your socks off whether youve had authentic Italian gelato or never had it before

They have a wide variety of flavors that are all so good. We got a pint of gelato to go as well which was just as good at home as it was in the store. They also make cakes and cupcakes for special occasions that are delicious!

Fun dessert place in Mount Lookout. Love the selection of gelato flavors they have. Hazelnut and white chocolate raspberry are my to go to flavors when stopping in. Also good selection of macarons and crepes!

We love this place! We go after each visit to Ichiban, it has become our routine! Fantastic tasting gelato with many flavors and friendly staff! Gelato is made on site each day. See you tonight!

Great place to get a gelato on a hot day or after a nice meal on the square. All the flavors are great. Only downside is that its a little bit on the expensive side.

Fantastic gelato shop! Great mix of classic flavors and unique new combinations. The Macwich is a new twist on ice cream sandwiches using macarons! Delicious!
