The rates are really high. for a family, we are paying $172/month. For that price, everything should be I excellent shape. It isnt. They have very worn out cardio equipment that desperately needs to be replaced. Good luck finding a decent treadmill. The weigh room is tiny. The only leg press they own is out of order. The worst part for moms is that the general childcare hours doesnt apply to infants. Infants can only stay in childcare until 8 pm, while childcare in general doesnt close until 845 pm. As a result, fulltime working moms who arrive around 7 pm only have an hour to work out before picking up their infant. That is hardly enough time for me to get a complete work out in. Plus, you have to call to reserve a spot for infants. Checking into the gym is annoying. Every member of the family has to have their own separate member card, even kids and tiny babies. My husband and I sometimes dont go to the gym together, so we cant keep the babys card on our individual keychains. We have strapped it to his diaper bag, which requires lugging the bag up to the counter to check him in. On a positive note, they have really nice locker rooms, nice lap and therapy pools, and a reasonably priced spa that is attached to the facility. The basketball court is nice and they have TRX stationss for suspension training. They also have a great selection of swim classes that we would like to take advantage of whether we are members or not. Overall, I might end up finding a new gym because I find the childcare inconvenient and the cardio equipment to be unacceptable.

This gym has a good assortment of exercise equipment, a sauna and a spa, and fairly well-equipped locker room / changing facilities. I like the fact that there is a separate weight/cardio area downstairs if you want to get away from the larger, busier, brightly-lit area upstairs. The staff is a bit "distant", cold and disengaged, sometimes bordering on condescending. Once I overheard a trainer actually criticize a members appearance (when the member was out of hearing range), though that trainer is gone so maybe the gym got rid of him, who knows. The equipment tends to stay broken for longer than it should, though this seems to be mostly a problem with the downstairs equipment. Not so much the main function of the equipment (eg the belt on a treadmill), but smaller bits like the blowing fans, etc.. The equipment also doesnt seem to get cleaned all that often, and cobwebs can be seen on parts of the ceiling ... again, this seems to be mostly a problem with the downstairs. Theyve got a good sized pool, though it seems to be usually occupied by kids ... they need more adult hours. This gym could do better ... my guess is that if another competitor opens up in the area, theyre likely to lose a good number of members.

We are not members, but I have sent my kids there for summer camps at the non-member rate. The front desk staff is rude and not at all consistent as far as allowing non-members in to drop off and pick up kids. I was told specifically to walk in to the left of the desk (the "exit") as a non-member to drop off my kid. Sometimes I get confronted by front desk staff. Sometimes they let me proceed and sometimes they make me fill out a long form before I can enter. Today, I was confronted by the rudest lady Ive ever dealt with at the front desk, who acted like I was stupid and didnt know the difference between the entrance and the exit. I mentioned that the process is never consistent, and she snapped at me. I asked my husband if he has ever been stopped by the front desk when he walks in, and he never has. They never say a word when he walks in through the exit. So apparently they dont have a problem with a man doing it. I just think they need consistent procedures and they need to be less rude...we were potentially going to become members, but dont like how they treat us, so no thanks!

Wow, best swim lesson experience! My son is a 6 year old with a few special needs, mainly sensory processing and anxiety, so just going in the water was a huge concern. We were paired up with a highly qualified teacher, Beth. She showed genuine care for my sons needs and the anxiety he had going into and under the water. She was calm and personal making the water seem calm to him. On our first visit she had him so relaxed he was floating on his back letting her pull him up and down the pool. I had never seen my son so relaxed! He counts down the days until his next lesson each week, it makes him so happy when its "swim day!" The pool is warm and the perfect size not to intimidate a small child. I looked at two other facilities before making the decision to do private lessons at Mercy HealthPlex Anderson, and Im so happy with our choice. Unfortunately, we are not members but, the pricing for a non member was still very reasonable. If your a parent looking for a professional staff and great facility this is the place to take your child!

I play tennis and thought this was my solution to the winter months (they have indoor courts). I was sadly mistaken for two reasons 1. Customer service: I was harassed and followed around the building by a woman who kept telling me I didnt schedule a court to play tennis. All the courts were open but I was eventually approached by a large man and ordered to leave the tennis courts. 2. The entire reason I signed a contract was for Winter Tennis (the monthly fee is $50+, you can find much cheaper gyms), but literally every single night from 5 till they close is booked with tennis lessons and stroke clinics for old people that have no business picking up a racket. There is no time to do anything. Extremely unhappy and will not sign with them again.

This place used to be a well-run facility for working out. It was actually luxurious. Apparently it has changed owners, and it has become a place for kids to hang out. Everything about it now is geared toward children. The warm water therapy pool designed for adults who need it and who have problems with knees, hips, etc. has been overtaken by babies and small children. They even have baby swim lessons at the same time as aqua arthritis. If you want to waste $88.00 a month on a place where the pool is closed for kids swim lessons every Saturday and Sunday, as well as a place that is geared for children instead of fitness, by all means join.

I signed up my 12 month old son for swimming lessons that were supposed to be American Red Cross Certified. Instead we had a teenage instructor who had never taught swimming lessons for babies. So really we just paid $80 for my son to play in the water for a week. I notified Sarah Davis, the swim instructor coordinator, but never received a call back to discuss my disappointment. Very unprofessional to post an online description that was not even close to the actual experience. Sadly, we wont be back.

I love Mercy HealthPlex in Anderson! Its not as big as the one in Fairfield but everything is just as nice....including the people! I met with Emma (a personal trainer) to help me set up my own routine and since I have lower back issues it was no small task. I am also meeting with Mary for a Yoga lesson tomorrow. I signed up with Moira, she was very kind and very relatable! Ive only been a member for a month but I feel like ive been going there forever!
