Be Warned! Our local Post Office at 4364 N. High Street (43214) is lying to their customers. I paid for OVERNIGHT shipping from Amazon. The USPS scanned my package, claiming it was delivered on Dec 10th at 7:37pm. That was a blatant lie! I walked in 25 degree weather to my Post Office at 8am this morning and my package was NOT on a truck, or out for delivery. My package which they scanned and claimed to have already delivered to my house yesterday was STILL AT THE POST OFFICE, IN THEIR BACKROOM! Clearly not anywhere close to "DELIVERED". The clerk admitted to me that 47 other packages were scanned last night as "Delivered" when they are actually sitting in the backroom at the 43214 Post Office!! Im sorry, but thats straight-up lying! Do NOT trust the USPS! In my mind, this is totally unethical as they are lying not only to civilians but lying to a large company like Amazon. Amazon is now having a hard time refunding the Overnight shipping charge because USPS is still claiming they delivered the box yesterday! If they are understaffed, then they need to hire holiday temps; dont lie! I was frantically wondering last night if someone stole it off my front porch; did it get delivered to the wrong house? I NEEDED that package! My Great-Grandma and my Grandma were both Post Masters. Each year we send over 100 holiday cards via USPS. This really has me questioning why I am giving the Postal Service my business for holiday cards, or for any shipment for that matter. Be honest. Be ethical. Dont lie. If you didnt deliver it on time, own up to your mistake. Who knows if Amazon will even be able to refund my exorbitant overnight shipping charge since USPS wont even own up to their mistake. UNETHICAL and UNREAL! Certainly not the USPS my Grandma and Great-Grandma worked for! UPDATE: 1 month later: Amazon never did refund my shipping charge. After contacting the national USPS customer service line, the supervisor there said, "you keep saying unethical, and really what were talking about is more serious. This is a form of mail fraud." And that was coming from a USPS national supervisor! I did still use the USPS for my holiday card mailing; theyre still the cheapest way to send a card/letter (sigh). At least my continued patronage of the USPS makes my Grandma happy.

If I could rate this post office with one star, I would. The staff are unhelpful, slow, provide incorrect information, and do not deliver mail/packages. Bad experience #1: Approximately 9 months ago I took my passport renewal and name change in to be mailed, and the woman at the counter nearly refused to mail it, stating my documentation was incorrect (she insisted my marriage certificate was not sufficient). Because I follow directions meticulously, I knew she was wrong and insisted the package be sent. Thankfully I ignored her false warnings and my application was processed without issue, but I wonder how many individuals they have ill advised and convinced to spend additional and unnecessary time and money? Bad experience #2: My August paycheck arrived nearly 3 weeks late. When it finally arrived, I could see the post mark date, 3 weeks prior. Why does it take 3 weeks to deliver a piece of mail after being post-marked? Seriously? Bad expierence #3: I recently had 3 packages shipped to me through DHL and FedEx, with the final delivery handled by this post office branch. Tracking info was lost, DHL told me "someone dropped the ball", I had to get refunds for 2 of the packages, and I am still trying to get the third. The tracking info for the third package currently says that a delivery attempt was made by this branch at 7:38 pm last evening and that a notice was left. This is a complete lie. My husband and I were both home from 5 pm onward. The doorbell never rang, there was never a knock, and no notice was left. I am unable to get anyone on the phone from the branch, just a busy signal. This final blatant display of dishonesty and incompetence triggered me to write this review. Past negative experiences with my passport aside, I feel very strongly that it is unacceptable to have extensively late mail or mail that never arrives. As a long time Clintonville resident, I am embarrassed that this post office exists. I will do my best to completely divorce myself from any future interactions with them. Incompetence is one issue, but dishonesty combined with incompetence is offensive. And that is exactly how I feel right now, I feel offended by this branch.

Several times on the tracking service, Ive seen that a package is out for delivery. So I check the mail box, and guess whats not there.? Why would they on one end mark a package out for delivery, then it becomes marked delivered, yet days later, I still have not received a package? So I get that same feeling of sick, because I know whats going to happen. I end up having to fight with the incompetent, and extremely rude "so called" employees at this location, as they make their case that "its marked delivered, so its been delivered." If only it was decades ago, that you could set your watch to the postman. I will refrain from what they say about him at our complex, meaning the person that took over for a very nice older man, that never missed a beat, and delivered our mail earlier in the day, and on the day its marked delivered. When the office closes at 6:00pm, and this person is strolling in around 6:15, guess what you cant do, call and complain. By the next day, your the liar, and at the office, he walks on water, according to the extremely rude manager. UPDATE.. It was the mail mans fault, he put it in the wrong box. I had to set for 3 hours to wait for him, as hes never delivering at the same time, and wait for him to open the mail box doors to see if he did put it in the right box. What do you know, it was in the wrong one, and lucky me, the person hadnt picked up their mail in a while. I guess his perfect status that kept getting repeated to me isnt as perfect as they claim. People make mistakes, but dont call me the liar, and a thief. As an apology the mail man said he would give me a gift card to apologize, but months later and still no gift card in the mail. I didnt expect it, so Im not going to worry about it showing up. Just another case of not keeping your word, that bothers me.

Hate to pile on the bandwagon here, but seriously this is the worst, most incompetent, uncaring post office I have ever frequented. Unfortunately it is "my" post office, so when packages are not delivered to me, this is who I have to call/visit. (Believe me, when I need to mail things, I go out of my way to a different location.) Many times, they will say a package is "undeliverable as addressed", but when I go to pick it up they cant find it. And then somehow magically reaches me with the correct address the day after I complain. Just this week, a package that was "out for delivery" hasnt made it to my house for two days and the tracking says "notice left - no secure location available". What?! Firstly, no notice has ever been left, let alone two. I live in Clintonville, with a front porch and a mailbox. Obviously they are just making up excuses not to deliver the mail. Apparently this location is understaffed? They should just close down.
