Fedex Smartpost hell hole: For people (like me) who have been wondering why their package is taking sooo long coming from Fedex, here is your answer. Please vote this review helpful so others dont waste their time like I did calling to find their package. If you are an unfortunate soul who has something shipped to them by Fedex Smartpost prepare to wait....and wait...and wait. What they do is ship it CLOSE to you fairly fast. Then you will notice it arrives at a Fedex location maybe in a city over or even your city. You think "hey its close!" Well it will sit at this facility for DAYS until they get enough packages going to your local area Post office to make it profitable for them to deliver. THEN when they finally send a truck to your local post office, it arrives on a big pallet in shrink wrap. Then the post office will get around to sorting the packages and take 2 or 3 days thereafter to finally deliver it to you. You may ask, hey Stu, cant I just pick it up at the Grove City location? NO they will not let you do this whatsoever! Well Stu, Can I pick it up at my local post office when it arrives to get it a few days early? NO they will NOT let you. As I said, it arrives on a big pallet and the USPS will not go dig it out for you to pick up. You just have to sit there helpless and wait for it to deliver. I encourage ALL of you to NEVER send packages this way or even use Fedex ground if this is how they treat customers. You can send something "snail mail" USPS and it will get there faster! Or pay a $1 more and get UPS to deliver it in a fraction of the time!

These guys are stupid. Okay with smart post they "hand off" the package to the USPS post office at the post office of the destination since I live in a rural area my mail leaves the post office around 9-10 am then I get it in my mail box between 1-2. The post office is only 1 hour from Grove City(I drove it many times when I used to work over there). The package left at 4:45 AM so even if they stopped for fuel and made stops along the way at the latest to get up to my post office 7:00(the post office opens at 8:00) (which it would sit at the post office from 8 to 9 or 10 when our rural route carrier "goes out") THE SMART POST AS OF 5:00 PM (SO OVER 12 HOURS LATER HAD NOT MADE A 1 HOUR TRIP. DO NOT USE THESE IDIOTS!! Secondly Smart Post Sucks, The Package left Rock Island,Illinois on a Friday I assume it will get here Thursday(even though they are showing Friday for delivery). A week to delivery something less than a pound 400 mile COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!!

Ordered several things from Macys for Christmas on Thanksgiving night. Everything from the order was shipped & received very quickly EXCEPT the one item that went through this SmartPost. Last activity on the tracking system says that the information was given to USPS on Dec. 2nd at 1am. I called FedEx and they put a trace on it but cant locate the item. Luckily, Macys is a wonderful company and is refunding me the $87 I spent on the gift. (I doubt I can get it for the same price now though.) I called the # listed for this SmartPost and left a voicemail but havent received any response. Apparently Im not the only one that has had their package lost at this location. Someone in Grove City must be planning a nice Christmas for their family this year!

worst carrier service ever. I am once again waiting days for a package that has been in Grove City depot since the 11th. Tracking says they attempted delivery last night at 5:38 pm and 5:52 p.m. Now that just makes no sense and someone was right close to my front door from 4p,to7pm I just found out there is a pkg for me from fed ex at the rental office that has been there for a couple days. As usual no notice on my door. It is now 7:38pm and it appears no one has attempted to redeliver my pkg today. I thought smart post went to the USPS, but if so they would not be trying to deliver at almost 6pm.; I wish companies would use UPS only as never have problems with their deliveries

An order from Kohls was sent to the Grove City fed ex smartpost on December 10. When fed ex posted tracking the last event was when it left Grove City on the 10th and hasnt been seen since. Fed ex has someone answering in customer service that I cant even understand what she is saying. She has no way of doing anything except sending someone a message about this package, and I am suppose to wait 3 days for an answer. Wonderful service. I wouldnt ship anything with them! As of December 16 it says pending and no date for delivery, and in transit to Brunswick. I never knew it took so long to get to another city in Ohio.

An absolute GARBAGE service! Had a package come from Nevada. It was moving very quickly.... Until it arrived in Grove City...it "arrived in grove city" then "departed grove city" Then "arrived in grove city"... Uhhhh, what?! My package has just been sitting there for the past 5 days. As an Amazon prime member who orders a lot (this recent purchase was not an amazon order) and watches UPS work their magic, FedEx (at least the smartpost part) is TRASH. How do they stay in business???? I will never use fedex again if I have the choice. Its the year 2016 people. Get it together....

I never really had a problem with Smart Post until NOW. I have about 10 packages sent from two companies using Fedex Smart Post as a shipping method. My packages arrived at Groveport, OH Fedex Smart Post site on September 13 (thursday) and left the facility on Friday Sept 14 and has been in transit to Columbus, OH since then. I live about 30 minutes from where this address is. Its now September 16 and they STILL havent given my package to USPS yet! NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE FEDEX SMARTPOST! I will pay 20 dollars extra next time for better shipping. -___-

low shipping cost = slow shipping speed. You want overnight delivery, then pay for it! However, if you want the absolute lowest shipping cost and dont care if it takes a few extra days (and it will), Fedex SmartPost might be what youre looking for. Remember, its your choice to choose the shipping service that meets your needs. Fedex SmartPost most likely does not get your package moving until they fill the truck with packages that are also going in your direction, thats how they keep the price low. Be patient or pay more. Once again, your choice.
