I got hit with the triple whamey all in one night - when I got home from work, I turned on the kitchen sink and soon discovered water all over the floor. Checking the disposal, I found the gasket between the sink and disposal was worn out. Get back to that in a minute. Went downstairs to get tools and found myself standing in water again - this time from the drain hole in the floor in the mechanical room. Traced the water over to the sump pump pit, which was full of water. SO.... at this point, I have a water issue in my kitchen, a water issue in my basement and what appears to be a broken sump pump. Called RotoRooter - was advised a tech was in my area and immediately scheduled to have tech come right over. Randy showed up just in time to witness my feeble attempt at changing the gasket out on the disposal and trying to realign it to the sink. Thought I had it - turned on the water - floor soaked again. Randy advised he would help me finish that later. We went to the basement and assessed that the sewer line was backed up and would have to be snaked. Also, after toggling the sump pump, found it to have a bad switch and quite corroded. Before Randy could even quote me, I told him to be fair and honest because previous experience with a service company ended not so well for either party. Thus, Randy gave me the straight up quote, but went further to advise he was going to employ as many discounts as possible to ease the financial burden. My entire months savings went into this one service call, but it was completely worth it. By the time Randy has snaked the drain and cleared the sewer line AND installed a new sump pump, I was trying to reattach the disposal. Because he is a kind gentleman and understood my frustration with "when troubles come, they come in three", Randy reattached the disposal for me at no cost. I know this is a lot to read, but the bottom line is Randy from RotoRooter spared me the agony of a flooded basement, a flooded kitchen and a potential killer when it comes to cost to fix. My sincerest thanks to Randy for being a blessing in disguise.

Lack of communication between dispatcher and myself, dispatcher kept hanging up his telephone, this caused delays and more basement backup and damage to property stored in basement. This is all due to your inept organization, called immediately and tried to have a technician sent out to diagnose and remedy problem,)3/20/2016,tenant also called with many hangups at your end, finally, someone answered phone and said someone would be there,no one showed up at appointed time 2:00PM on Tuesday the 22nd,or the 23rd,called on the24th and talked to the night dispatcher,he sent someone out about 11:00PM he could not correct the problem without the pumper,he came at 10:30 am on 03/25/2016,then the drain technician,Michael to do the main drain and kitchen sink,he was very courteous, whereas the pump operator was very rude to tenant and did not protect floor or carpet from suction tube soiling,no floor plastic covering, she even told him she had a tarp she could supply to him, with him ignoring her suggestion, consequently with contamination of floor and carpet! The pump operator has no arrival time or actual pump time listed on the receipt and charged1,035.00 dollars, also the tenant said he was outside, standing around for quite a while and he soiled the carpet and flooring and was rude to the tenant!I have been using rotorooter for the last 40 years at my business,Zappia Salem Chrysler Jeep and all my rental propertys, this has been the worst case scenario, ever!Michael Palmer,Tech883 was very professional and courteous and explained and wrote everything he did in detail on the receipt! With all of your delays and miscommunication between Chicago and Dayton it made the situation a whole lot more expensive for me and more profitable for rotorooter, the franchise is better than corporate in quick service response,I am surely disappointed at this whole situation. As a business operation, having a blocked drain is more than an inconvenience. It prevents us from performing some of the necessary procedures for operating our business. In this case, our floor sink was blocked and we could not scrub & mop the repair shop on a Saturday when we are closed. We had nowhere to pour the mop water. Michael showed up as promised armed to the teeth with equipment in his van and on a trailer behind. After starting with a portable water jet and having no success, he graduated to a powered rooter snake with the same result and finally to the trailer mounted, engine driven water jet. A very serious looking piece of equipment indeed. Still having little encouraging news, he called in reinforcements, another associate (whose name I failed to note) armed with a sophisticated remote video camera system. With a better understanding of the intricacies of the underground pipe routing of this old building, together they were able to not only open the floor sink working backwards toward the drain from the clean-out but also to open up the line to the sewer going toward the street. Mission accomplished! I might add it was a miserably hot, humid day and after spending about 4.5 hours in the sun solving our problem, they were off to Northern Ohio to resume a project from the day before that needed to be completed. Their dedication was inspiring. I can only imagine how tired they must have been and how late their day must have ended. Mike McCarthy Foreign Car Service Huber Heights

Called to clear sewage main clog. Ran the auger multiple times, but were unable to clear the significant roots and waste. An optical probe did show some minor shifted pipe sections where the worst roots were intruding the worst. The technicians said that they cleaned it out about as good as they could, but they didnt expect the fix to last much more than days to weeks. (I agreed based on the final optical probe). They suggested I needed a $6k pipe liner to really solve the problem. Prior to going down that path, I consulted a different plumbing contractor in the area. They were able to clear the roots all the way to the sewer main without any issue. An optical probe they ran verified. This technician said that a proper cleaning should be good for about a year, but if more often clogs happen, liners can be installed in trouble spots--as opposed to Roto-Rooters proposed full-length pipe liner. This greatly reduces costs. He noted that most of the pipe was in good shape, so this would be the best option. To Roto-Rooters credit, their technicians were nice and professional. I didnt get a feel that they were trying to scam me, but the second opinion I got certainly saved me a huge amount of money. I would still give Roto-Rooter a second shot in the future.

We had issues with the main sewer drain backing up in the basement. After the second time of shop vacuuming the basement in less than 10hours we called Rotorooter, mostly based on their reviews from other customers. We were given a timeframe of 8-12 for a plumber to appear, well that did not happen. Finally called Rotorooter back and was told there was a tech in the area, but that tech had run into issues with the job they were working. Rotorooter promised to have a plumber out that day, and 2 hours later he finally got to our home. The main drain was snaked a few times and everything is working great. The only reason 5 stars was not given is based on the timeline we were provided with initially vs when a plumber actually appeared at our home. Our plumber told us a main sewer line issues are a priority and they try to get to those issues first, but that seems opposite of what occurred. Our plumber, Colt, did a great job and explained what he was going to do prior to doing anything, and was upfront about the costs of the repair, nice change of pace from other plumbing companies. I would recommend Rotorooter for others and their plumbing issues.
