Tarvin Plumbing was contracted to replace two outdoor spigots as well as a bathroom faucet. Nearing completion of the second spigot on the rear of the house the plumber caused a pipe on the interior of the house to burst from the outside of the house, after installing the fixture but before securing it to the house. The burst line flooded the ceiling over the finished basement. The plumber made a quick, hasty fix and without turning the water back on to the property, assured us that their insurance company would cover all the damages and left. The next day the plumber and the receptionist falsified the work report attempting to place the blame on us, the homeowner. We called to correct the statement and were told that it would be fixed before it was sent to insurance. It wasnt. Their insurance company looked at their falsified statement and immediately denied the claim. It took contacting the Ohio Department of Insurance to have their insurance companys senior staff review the claim and collect statements from us and to visit the residence in order for them to find Tarvin at fault. On top of all of this Tarvin changed the terms of the contract after they were paid. Their plumber caused an 11 day dryout of our basement and several thousands of dollars in damage and they revoked their work guarantee after they were paid. This is a very dishonest practice. We contacted the owner and he stood behind his receptionist and plumbers dishonest practices saying that we could contact our insurance company and file a claim, and he also understood that we had the right to dispute the insurance companys denial. This caused tens of hours of time spent with contractors, on the phone and countless aggravation, and about a month later we still do not have full resolution. Just goes to show that no matter how many glowing reviews there are, a business will show its true colors when backed into a corner. Very dishonest, very disrespectful customer service. Would give Zero stars, would not recommend.

I called Tarvin because they were local and had a high review score - wish I hadnt. The job included replacing two toilet flappers and fixing a thermostatic mixer on a shower (temperature control). I had a replacement valve for the temperature control that turned out to be the wrong size. The plumber from Tarvin said the control valve wasnt the problem anyway. Rather, there was a build-up of corrosion from lack of use. He cleaned it out, put it back together, told us it was working and charged us just under $500. When I tried the temperature control a week or so later, it did not work - same as before (but the toilet flappers did work). I called the office and explained that the part was not repaired. The receptionist was very nice and assured me that the report said the shower was fixed. She agreed to send another plumber out to check on it - that day. Wow, I thought, great customer service. The plumber arrived and told my wife that the report said the shower was fixed and that if we wanted him to do anything it would be at least $150. I have to give him credit for giving us the option to say "No, Thank you" - which my wife did. My son and I, who dont know squat about plumbing, decided to look at it ourselves. In 45 minutes, using a couple of wrenches and the internet, we determined that the temperature control unit was missing a part that rendered it useless. Interesting that three people at Tarvin assured us it was working when it was physically impossible for the control unit to work. We ordered the part on Amazon, installed it in 15 minutes and the shower works flawlessly. I can not recommend Tarvin for anything. It is clear to me that they dont have the expertise or the integrity to back up their work. Now, Im thinking about quitting my job and becoming a plumber.

I cant begin to say how wonderful this company is! I called them this morning after being without water for EIGHT days because of a botched job by another plumbing company that my home warranty company uses. I told Veronica at Tarvin what the problem was, she had me send photos of the water heater and venting and said she would try and have somebody at my house today or tomorrow for installation. An hour later she has somebody who can pick up the water heater I need and can install it today. Brent arrives and was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to install the water heater and make the necessary modifications in four hours. He went over everything he did and explained it thoroughly. Yes, it was a hefty price tag but a check that I was happy to write after having an EIGHT DAY nightmare without water thanks to another incompetent plumbing company. You definitely get what you pay for. I also learned in this process to drop the home warranty company I had because it is a scam. When ever I need a plumber in the future, Tarvin is who I will call!! Thanks so much Veronica and Brent-you guys are lifesavers!!!!

I cant say enough good things about Tarvin Plumbing. I had a clogged sink and another plumber came out and said it could not be snaked and that I would have to bust out my basement wall and possibly my basement floor to fix it. They wanted to charge me over $1000 to bust out the wall just to see if they could unclog it that way and then I would have to hire a contractor to put it back together. A friend thought I should get a second opinion and contacted Tarvin for me. They came out that very afternoon and for the same price the other company charged me to tell me all the bad news they not only fixed the clog with a snake but also fixed several other minor issues in the house. They have my business going forward.

Our water heater went out the day before houseguests were arriving. Tarvin came within a half hour and began working on the problem. One gentleman stayed the entire day (not even taking a lunch hour) and had two other workmen join him at different periods. The work was accomplished efficiently and very neatly. Unfortunately, the water heater would not stay lit after installation, due to a problem with the heater (not installation). Tarvin pulled out all the stops and got the factory representative to our home before 8 a.m. the next morning (Saturday). It was a simple issue to fix and we immediately had hot water again. This incident made me appreciate Tarvin more than ever.

My wife and I were very satisfied with Tarvin Plumbing and would highly recommend them. Their performance and service is second to none! It was a pleasure to deal with Mike Tarvin during the planning of our kitchen and bathroom renovations. All workers involved were courteous, professional and quite knowledgeable. They were very conscious of any areas of the house that had to be traveled through, when in fact, they laid down cloth tarps the entire directed pathway throughout our residence. I cannot say enough good things about this company, whereas, their work is exquisite! Thank you Tarvin Plumbing for a great job!

My wife and I moved into our first home only to find out the previous owners did not disclose a back-up issue in our unfinished basement. Tarvin snaked my clean-out line and found a collapsed pipe on the city side of my property. Mike Tarvin called me and walked me through the process of getting the city onto the property to fix my problem. Mike resent his technician out to my property when asked and he personally followed up with me multiple times to make sure my problem was being resolved. I would use Tarvin Plumbing again and would recommend them to my home owning friends.
