Be very careful selecting a storage facility if you need to store commercial equipment. American Self Storage may not be accommodating of your commercial needs. The intention of this review is to inform other companies of a potential gotcha when selecting a self-storage facility. In our experience with a Cincinnati/Dayton area American Self Storage location, the managers were very happy and accommodating upon seeing a new commercial customer come and fill multiple of their largest units with large commercial equipment. They were also likely happy to be paid on time every month the thousands of dollars for the rental of our multiple units. We were happy because the units were smartly designed in smallish buildings set at diagonals--allowing easy back-up access without blocking entry and exit for other customers. When we arrived to remove some equipment, however, they were very dogmatic in pointing out contractual clauses that prohibit loading directly from in front of the unit. According to their policy, trucks may only be parked for loading parallel to--that is, alongside--the units. Unfortunately, oversized, heavy commercial equipment may be easily damaged the more it has to be finagled around to get it beside a unit and onto a truck. When we politely asked for a bit of consideration of the task before us and a 30-minute window to get the largest equipment loaded, the response was that if we so much as tried to back up to one of our units, they would call the police to have us removed and lock out our units. We had been big-dollar customers for many months. We intended to keep these units permanently as we do in our other market areas. Instead, weve suffered unnecessary damage and moved to a different facility.

Extra Space Storage offers an extraordinary storage unit service in Middletown, Ohio. I am from the hospitalable state of Alabama, but received more of a warm welcome than you can find down south! As my grandma who lives here ages, I wanted to check out the facility as a potential customer. Crissy, the manager, is a family friend and recommended I check out the facility. I was thoroughly impressed by the storage units, packing supplies, but especially her customer service. One customer came into the store while I was looking around, the first thing that impressed me was that she knew the customers name and information. Then she was so sweet to suggest a different unit that the customer might need a in the future, checking to make sure she satisfied. She was so kind to the customer. As a young business professional, Crissy not only nailed customer service, but sold the product without even trying!

This was my first time to use a storage facility. I was and still am very surprised at how I was treated. Very friendly and professional. My grandson was with me and she let us eat our lunch at the table in her office area. I felt like I was part of a special group of people, (family). Thank you for that. I do not give a top 5 to many, but a 5 it is. The facility is clean, friendly, and safe. The 3 months I had belongings with this storage company, I was very confident that my things were safe. Thanks again for everything. You all were great. I know where I go when I need to store. :)

Chrissy was fantastic in helping us find the right size storage unit. She answered our questions and wasnt pushy and waited for us to decide what unit we would take. She couldnt have been more helpful (except move our stuff for us :) ). Even as we were making our trips to store our stuff she would come out and say hi and see how things were going. Our last stop she wished us a safe trip back to SC and even followed up to see how the trip went. I feel like Chrissy is a friend more than someone we did business with in Middletown.

Jennifer has on e of the best personalities I have ever met and I have been all over the world. Beware of bed bugs. I bought a storage unit in an auction at this location, and it was heavily infested with bed bugs. I explained to the manager that the place is infested, and that they need to take care of the problem at hand, before it spread to the next unit. A few hours later I get a call from upper management, telling me that if I dont pick up what I bought in auction, I will be banned from all future auctions, ( like I would want to buy more infested units...LOL. You have been warned.

Extremely happy with the unit. Ashlee was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. She showed me the unit I was interested in, and the alarm system Extra Space Starage provides to ensure your unit is protected! Speaking of protection they also treat the property from bugs and rodents on a regular basis! If I ever need another unit I will be back for sure!

Had to move in a rush and was bummed about it, me and my fiance stopped in to rent a unit and met this young lady named Patty Green not only was she extremely professional and thorough but she made us laugh which was something we hadnt done in a few days. I would highly recommend this location to any one who wants to feel theyre the most important person in the world!

Was met and assisted immediately upon entering the facility. In fact, the manager went out of her way to greet me at the door when I arrived. My account set-up and entry into my storage space happened in just a few short minutes. I was in and out with my storage goods in less than 30 minutes overall. I highly recommend this facility for your storage needs!

Unit is really clean and the price is great. The staff is wonderful. Been storing here for 3 months and have never had a problem. Easy access to outside unit even with a large truck. Unit has never had any leaks. If I ever had to store again, this would be the only place I used!
