On July 8th I had a shellac manicure at the Unique Beauty Salon.I should have paid attention when the manicurist said, "if anything goes wrong, I fix it for you!" By July 12th, the nail polish had started peeling, by July 19, only 6 nails had nail polish. I was out of town for the weekend so I went back to the salon on July 22. The manicurist was able to push the rest of the nail polish off completely, using just his fingernails. My shellacs normally last 6 weeks at least. He redid the nail polish (as hed said he would when I had it done originally) but as I was about to leave, they stopped me, insisting that I pay because it was a completely new service. There was no fixing after 2 weeks they said. She said he gave you a hand massage. I paid again. Did not tip this time. July 26 - nail polish is already peeling. Im out of town again July 29 - I go back to the salon and ask for either a repair or refund. Oh your nails grow fast. Theres no refund. I wont repair. They tell me. Upshot is Ive $55 and 3 weeks later, I still dont have the product I paid for. There should be a way to blacklist businesses that treat customers like this. ...and in case anyone is wondering. I work in an office, didnt swim or do anything that might conceivably damage my nails. Im just disappointed. I could have done this at home using regular nail polish and it would have lasted 2 weeks.

This woman was initially nice enough but completely ruined my hair. She tried to put blonde over red. When it didnt work, she put bleach right on top of it. When I tried to complain, she wouldnt listen and just told me it will be nice once blow dried. When I returned for a refund, she initially refused even though my hair looks AWFUL. I had to threaten to stand outside of the salon and show every customer what she did to my hair. She quickly reimbursed half of the money and then said that I had too much red in my hair, as if it was my fault. She took absolutely no responsibility for making an error. We all screw up. Admit it and do the right thing. Completely unprofessional.

I enjoy visiting this nice, clean salon in the heart of Fairview Village. It is a smaller salon and with nice relaxing music which helps me to relax during my mani or pedi. I do not enjoy the busy, fast paced loud salons. This salon is so friendly and all staff equally do an excellent job. The added bonus is that this is a family own business so you get a warm welcome and dont feel get the sense that they are unhappy or mistreated. I frequent this salon and highly recommend it!

Ive been going here to get a shellac manicure for a year and a half. John, one of the owners, does an amazing job! His gel manicures last me 3 weeks. They also did my nails and facial for my wedding last year. They are the kindest, most hardworking people and the only salon Ill go to for my Gelish manis!
