I have lived on the Eastside since 1996 and had tried lots of places for hair cuts, but it wasn’t until 2010 that a friend recommended Vasuda Salon in Northgate. I initially went to see Emmett, the owner, and I immediately felt at home in his salon. Going to their salon is like being a part of their family for me! Not only is the rapport great with the people, but they KNOW curly hair too! I have naturally curly hair and I’ve never been happier with the services I’ve received from any of the Vasuda stylists Ive seen: Emmett, Brooke, Delicia, and Michelle They have all done a great job with my cut, color and/or style! Emmett truly believes in keeping his staff educated about hair and dedicates one day a week to staff training on all things hair. I love that they have well-researched products that work great for curly hair or straight blow outs. On top of that, Vasuda has Dermalogica skin care products which are fantastic for all types of skin. Delicia is not only a cosmetologist, but an esthetician too! My 11 year old, curly-haired daughter has become a loyal client too!! We both love going to Vasuda so much that we organized a special skin and hair day for our Girl Scout troop with Emmett’s wife Jessica, the manager/co-owner! Thank you, thank you, thank you Vasuda for letting us feel like part of your family!

This place is A-mazing. Especially for difficult curly hair. Emmet is a master at listening and helping to repair damaged hair. Hes cautious and conservative - in the best sense of the word. For instance, if he doesnt know your hair well hell do what he KNOWS will work and than ask you to come back a few weeks later to see how your hair has reacted and make improvements. By the way, he doesnt charge ANYTHING for this second round touch-up/trim. The salon has a really laid back feel, casual, comfortable feel; not like youve walked into the Hyatt-Regency on Ivy League Sorority Alumni night. (You know youve been in these places. Youre sure their going to check your bank account balance - before they overcharge you for mediocre service - to see if you deserved to be admitted.) The prices are super reasonable, especially for the quality of service you get. If Yelp offered more than 5 stars, Id give them all to Vasuda. You! Girl with the crazy, frizzy-headed mop and the deep frown! Get thee to Vasuda and Emmet NOW!!

Who would have known that they are A-mazing with straight hair too! Just the right balance of product and an amazing cut gave me volume I never knew existed in my straight, fine hair. Even the color now adds depth and volume. The part Im most impressed with is the health of my hair. The beginning of each visit includes a scalp and hair assessment and they add various products to your hair along the way to address issues like dry scalp or whatever the case may be. In my case the product was just part of the treatment and I was not charged but they also advise on products for longer term issues but it is not in the spirit of pushing their product (like other salons) but in the interest of addressing concerns or improving the results. I am extremely happy with my experience each and every time and love when I receive compliments on my hair. Ive tried many salons and stylists over the years so I know when Ive found a gem.

I finally got a chance to get to Vasuda. All the reviews about Emmett were true. I am sorry for the ladies in his hometown who no longer get his services, but so happy he is now my regular stylist. I havent been satisfied with my hair dresser in eons. So much so I went natural. Well he has been 1 of 2 beauticians who really did a great short cut and style. He explained what he was doing and the products he was using. I loved that. He is not only a hairdresser but a scientist of hair. He KNOWS hair. Now that I am a new resident of Seattle, this is my new hair place. The other staff was very nice as well. Very attentive and professional.

This salon is amazing, and I have a really hard time with salons. Irene was attentive to my needs, and also my wants. Theyve great service, the atmosphere is relaxing, and when it comes to hair you are definitely in the right place. These cats know what they are doing, which is a HUGE plus when dealing with ethnic hair. They have varying treatments and systems-ALL KINDS OF RELAXERS-depending on your hairs needs. I had the keratin treatment, which amazingly left my black steel wool like....fresh cotton made of satin. This is the salon you have been waiting for. Go there. Now. What are you still doing at the computer??

I love this salon. Im a black girl with mostly type 4a hair and I get my hair cut, colored and styled here. The stylists are friendly and professional, my hair always comes out looking bomb, and I feel well taken care of. The stylists here focus on education and satisfaction and not just getting you in and out. Im here on a Saturday afternoon and its nice and relaxing! Awesome. Katie cuts and colors my hair! Shes fantastic! Ive also seen Asyah and shes great as well.

I love Vasuda Salon! I selected them because I have naturally curly hair and the Deva Curl folks in NY recommend them as a "curly girl" skilled salon. They do not disappoint! Livia became my stylist and she really knows how to work with curly hair from cut to color and styling. The salon itself is welcoming, so you feel cared for from the moment you enter to the moment you leave.

I absolutely love this salon. My daughter and I both go to Vasuda. This salon is clean, up to date, and the stylist are all very talented. The owner is awesome and I have never walked away disappointed with my hair styles. I will not ever go to a different salon. Thank you all for the hard work you guys do!!!!

I really cant say enough positive things about this salon! Ive always struggled finding someone who can cut my thick, frizzy, curly hair, and these guys do such an amazing job. Tanner, my stylist, is fantastic! The salon is professional and welcoming, the prices are perfect, and everyone there is wonderful!

You are welcomed warmly from the moment you walk in; the stylists are great with a variety of hair textures, really listen to the client and are highly skilled. The best hair stylists out there! I love both Irene and Emmet, they are the most professional and knowledgable stylists I have been too! They know ethnic hair - which is really hard to find in the Seattle are but not only that I feel they truly care about the health of my hair as much as I do! Its the best!

This was my first time at Vasuda Salon. The salon is very nice and I highly recommend Nicole. It was my first time getting my hair cut by her. I just wanted to reshape my hair and a light trim and thats exactly what she did. Shes the sweetest and the best at what she does!
