I am surprised by how disorganized they are internally. So much so that the service for my hair was horrifically messed up. Being new to the salon, I had a consultation with a colorist that had setup a plan of what she wanted to do with my hair. It was something different that I hadnt bothered to remember because I was going to book my appointment with her anyway and trust her process. Note: My former salon in Chicago always wrote down what they were going to do/had done. Just in case I would have to book with another stylist, they always knew exactly what to do. Anyway, I went in to my appointment a week later and did not have the same colorist who did my consultation. Instead I was given an appointment with someone who clearly was not fit to do a fashion color and completely messed up. They even had to have a senior colorist come in to help tell her how to fix her mistake. Fortunately it wasnt as awful at the end, but still off. I would have appreciated if she would have some integrity and been honest that she was not experienced with this process. I now have to wait over a week with this mess, because they cant fit me in after work throughout the week. Just another thing to be frustrated with. I was very generous to give 3 stars, only because I did have a haircut, a week prior to the color disaster, that went really well. The facilities are also really nice. I do think under different circumstances I would have had a better experience. That being said, I am definitely not going back. If the process my hair has gone through is not being stored in a file, I dont trust Ill get consistent service here and will be vulnerable to another botched hair color.

This is my first Online eview ever. Also, this was my first time at Gene Juarez that I entrusted for a new look since I assumed they were the best option. Firstly, everyone was nice and friendly--no complaint there. However I booked a keratin treatment that made no difference in my hair. So that was $150 down the drain. After the treatment, I waited half an hour with a wet head and heavy towel for my haircut stylist to come get me. No one came to explain shes late, or that she would be here soon. I was just sitting there and of course missed another appointment I had made for after the salon since she was half hour late. I wasnt rude or voiced any frustration since I understand things happen. She didnt apologize or anything and was more interested in selling me five different products than my actual haircut, as well as suggesting what accessories and fashion glasses I should wear and suggesting bangs that I didnt ask for. Overall I left with a decent haircut, but sad to say I wasted money and time, my first experience at Gene Juarez wasnt satisfactory so I wont be back. They didnt exactly live up to the hype of their name.

I have had nothing but exceptional service downtown! My colorist Laci and stylist Richie are both talented professionals. They very know not only want I want to achieve but are both truthful in conveying what looks best on me and making recommendations if I am off base. As a spa member, I can attest that the estheticians are well versed/trained in skin care and I have throughly enjoyed each and every spa facial. The manicurists are wonderful as well. Since I have literally tried almost every service in downtown Seattle I highly recommend splurging on yourself at this salon every now and then! I am sure the other salons are wonderful too! The added bonuses of being a customer at this type of salon are well stocked/top notch professional products from skincare to hair care. I was first introduced to Kerastase eleven years ago after a disastrous hair color experience and have used no other product since. Its worth the extra money and with concentrated ingredients your money will go farther with Kerastase! I also found my current skin care line here (Arcona) and love it!

I have naturally curly hair, and it sometimes loses the curls with wind and becomes frizzy. The only thing that helps "tame" my hair is a permanent. If I cant have all straight hair, then Ill settle for all curly. So now its tough to find a salon that does permanents, but I found Gene Juarez. I warned the stylist that since my hair is naturally curly, it does not take much to grab on and hold the perm. Well after 4 hours in the chair, it was a mess. I dont know if she over permed it or what she did, but it was a mess. I did go to the Gene Juarez school in Federal Way once, and was happy as punch, so I figured the salon would do a great job as well. I guess thats the last time I "assume" anything, and the last time this salon will work on my hair.

I have been a long time customer at the Bellevue Gene Juarez but recently moved to Downtown Seattle so I decided to switch locations. I kind of thought everyone will be amazing so put me with whoever. The first color I got was fine, I think most people would have been happy but it was not what I thought I had asked for but it was good and I hate saying anything. While I was getting my hair cut, the stylist Clara noticed and went and talked to the manager for me. I was able to get rescheduled with a new stylist who was amazing! Both Clara (haircut) and Kaylee (color) killed it! I love my hair and it is exactly what I asked for! I will be setting up appointments with them always they were the best. Everyone was super helpful and nice.

Patrice corrected my hair color like a magician. And an incredible, positive chatty personality to with her artistry, ALWAYS gracious, ALWAYS on time or early, Always check to see how you are experiencing the haircolor and if any tweaks or adjustments are needed. A brilliant colorist and an extremely nice person. You can go there with complete peace of mind. Eric cuts my hair and hes a treasure, inexpensive, but what a flair!, He spent almost 2 hours perfecting the cut and straight blow out of my completely kinky hair. Beyond aesthetic talent, hes quite the story teller- ask about his trip to Africa and youll still be chuckling when its time for the next haircut. Seriously, hes brilliantt.

Made an appointment for noon today and checked in on time. Gave me a nice cup of tea and had me wait in the waiting area. At 12:26 I thought something was wrong and indeed I was right. They forgot about me. Oh well, these things happen and told them so. But the kicker is when I got back to work, I had a message from them at 12:15 (while I was a mere few feet away) saying I had missed my appointment so not only did I not get my hair done for my party tonight my lunch hour was shot. Im waiting for their call to tell me they apologize for confusion and have a coupon for me if I want to try their services again.

Ive been going to Gene Juarez for almost 3 decades. I stopped when my favorite hair designer left. Today after several years away I returned to see if they could fix a disastrous haircut, and Chloe gave me THE BEST HAIRCUT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! She is an amazing artist, a great listener; she knows how to find out what you want, and--best yet--give it to you! Plus shes gorgeous and hilariously funny to boot. I cant wait to go back in 6 weeks. PLUS--today they were having a buy-2-get-1-free sale, no sales pressure but I bought 3 great haircare products and got a $25 product for FREE! I am SO happy.
