We are diehard fans of this AAMCO location in Newport... We find that the friendly, professional care both we and our cars get is rare to find. We have a SUV, Mustang and a PT Cruiser which each have had their "opportunities" over the years. I, in fact, went in today with the "it makes a clunk when I turn the ignition on and also a hissing sound on the right side".... I laughed and they went to work on it and well, it ended up to be tie rod ends needing to be replaced and a "quick leak on the back tire".... they arranged with Les Schwab to fix the tire (as it was under warranty) got the parts, changed the oil and by 4pm the PT Cruiser was ready. I find that when they take the time to show me the parts being replace it allows me to learn a bit.... Anyway, this is our go-to for our cars and we are always bragging to others and telling them they will never be disappointed. Patti and Ray Cauduro

We were on vacation in Newport for a week - arriving on Saturday. On Monday our truck was making a noise my husband was not comfortable with - as we had just had it serviced in Canada before our journey I wasnt concerned. He went to Ford in Newport so they could do a ride along - they informed us that it was our transmission - they wouldnt be able to help us but recommended AAMCO. They were closed for the day so we returned on Wednesday - Rick was AWESOME! PJ went for a ride and informed us it was not our transmission but the rear crank (sounds expensive is what I thought) Rick took on the job even though his shop was full - we ended up getting it back a couple of days later just in time to head back to BC. They were professional and honest and very compassionate. I would recommend this team to anyone! On our next visit we will stop in to say hi.

Not all aamcos are alike, but this one in Newport, which used to be Pacific Coast Transmissions, is solid and reliable... They completely rebuilt my 1991 dodge ram w250s a747 automatic transmission, and it still runs great after two years. Service is courteous, with good communication, and repairs are prompt and efficient.... Well... Its years since I made this review, and I brought them another dodge ram for repair; but this one had a manual Getrag transmission. Unfortunately, I am deducting two stars because their rebuild failed, and left me stranded in Colorado. However, their warranty held, and the Colorado shop rebuilt it right.

On Sep 10, 2014 you gave us this review: 5.0 /5 Always receive promt, fast, efficient and affordable service. They always provide an estimate first before any work is done and inform me of what exactly will be done. We began coming to AAMCO because we were tired of privately owned repair shops taking advantage of us and repair costs that werethrough the roof and the problems are never resolved. Sometime I felt like they caused more problems just so they could keep me coming back.

My 02 Tahoe had a broken sunshell (no reverse). The estimate and actual invoice were very close. The transmission, torque converter and a shaft seal on my half shaft were either repaired or replaced. The work was done on time. The staff were outstanding to work with. I would higher recommend this location to anyone in need of automotive repairs. This is a quality establishment.

We have taken our Dodge to AAMCO the few times anything has went wrong with it. They do great work, Priced fair. They are a great group of people at the Newport AAMCO! We greatly appreciate how quickly they are able to service our vehicle, whether it be minor up keep/ maintenance or a larger repair!

They suck! Took our car in to repair transmission for a cost of $1800.00 Absolutely NOTHING was repaired as we were still experiencing the same issues. When we went back, they told us it would be an additional $1800-$2700 because they discovered more problems. Rip-Off joint!!!
