Its a staffing agency. Kind of like the bait and hook used cars sells pitch . So , I called about a Skill trade job ( Diesel Mechanic). They asked to see me at a time. And I said I would be their. At the interview , I walked halfway out. One of the personal stopped me and given me a pep talk about the company. OK, so I parked my self down. End up doing a orientation not a interview. Paper work one hour . Oh also a drug test as well. The company, I went to work for paid well. The company name was Shaver Transportation. 4900 NW Front Ave, Portland, OR 97210 Place is rather discombobulated / Micromanaged. ”We find that office cliques tend to form most in corporate environments with weak management. They are like office gangs that emerge to fill in the void of leadership.” Noting from Forbes. .. In short adults who have not fished High School. -Reason for one star No one told me about a UA . Could have said no No communication of one hour paper work No real interview about my College Education or Skills The JOB they sent me to The company had to barges tied next to one another. one was lower then the other one. Fall protection. Putting you at risk of death or injury As wells as the confined space. Employees wanted me to go into a tank . That would require confined space training. As I have training , but again employees tried to play know it all. Two men in a tank with out any one watch up top. To prevent employees from being injured from falls, employers must: Guard every floor hole into which a worker can accidentally walk (using a railing and toe-board or a floor hole cover). Provide a guard rail and toe-board around every elevated open sided platform, floor or runway. Regardless of height, if a worker can fall into or onto dangerous machines or equipment (such as a vat of acid or a conveyor belt) employers must provide guardrails and toe-boards to prevent workers from falling and getting injured. Other means of fall protection that may be required on certain jobs include safety harness and line, safety nets, stair railings and hand rails. OSHA requires employers to: Provide working conditions that are free of known dangers. Keep floors in work areas in a clean and, so far as possible, a dry condition. Select and provide required personal protective equipment at no cost to workers. Train workers about job hazards in a language that they can understand.

Melissa is a bad apple. I did temp work. Most jobs are construction clean up minimum to 12 an hour without the proper tools ending up in a high turnover. Staff is generally nice but jobs given are often dictated without double checking health or experience prior. They focus on their contracts more than their employees desires or skill sets. Im only talking in regards to some morning staff at the Beaverton location. One morning Melissa referred to an employee as a fool for calling in evening to verify a job and she shows signs of attitude whenever she feels they actually have to work. Im a business man that owns my own business and utilized the gliss service out of temporary necessity. The gear given to employees is cheap and employees must pay for it. I did clean up with no mask provided no shop vac 1,000 plus nails and trash and construction dusk with lower back issues and spasms... if you can then be selective can and ask a lot of questions and dictate where you want to work. I jus Gave them my notice of liquidate our relationship. Best of wishes. Hopefully they figure it out. To me it was slave labor. Nothing personal.

This place is unbelievably non-professional. I get there when given a short 1 hour notice before they close,to come fill out all this paperwork taking 3 hours. As Im there all the ladies in the office are extremely rude when they get off the phone with people. Referring them as numbers or units to fill in spots. Were people not pawns. Saying things behind their back with "I hate this guy hes never on time. I gave cash out of my wallet to make him go just so I can fill in that night shift." Bad first experience for sure unfortunately. Waiting on an interview and they told me Id here something that day from Gliss about the position. Its been 3 days now. And I was just informed they havent even emailed them back to ask if Im hired. Just like your life. Bills dont slow down time. Im not the negative type of guy :( but their service is horrible unfortunately.

Ive worked for This company for a 1 year and a half now and it was a great opportunity to learn new things in the workforce. When i first started i applied one day and the next day i was suted and booted and on my way to work. This company has so many perks like getting paid every week and health benefits they will even some times pick u up and send u to work thats how much they are willing to go the extra mile for u. My name is Pete and i would recommend this company before anyother recruiting agancy. Also thank you to all the girls who work hard for you.

If I could rate the customer service to this agency at this specific location I would literally rate it a -0!!! Their staffing specialists need better training, extreme mannerism, more charisma & major communication!!! I have worked in the staffing business for many years.I have come across many people, I crown Gliss the most unkempt, unprofessional group of females I have yet come across!!! FEMALES like them would NEVER, EVER, be hired to represent my company shame, shame, shame!!!!!!

They have had me one well paying jobs since I started with them. Hard work is definitely rewarded with better paying jobs. They have always taken the extra step to try and meet my needs. Hands down the best temp service Ive worked for.
