Referring to themselves as "professionals" is a pretty long stretch of the word. I only first applied to them to get a job at Farwest, as Farwest only hired through Express at the time. I ended up leaving Farwest six weeks later due to it being a deathtrap (saying this as someone with 6 years experience in the steel industry), but thats unrelated. Over the next nine months, they failed to find me a single position. I finally got a call offering me two days of work with a moving company. I emphasized on the phone that I was looking for office / admin work (which they knew) due to having a knee injury (which they also knew), yet they still thought this was an appropriate billet. Needless to say, I lasted about 90 minutes before I had to stop as I nearly fell down the stairs with a hand truck when my knee gave out. I called Express immediately (literally from the parking lot of the moving company) to inform them of what had happened and was told not to worry about it. I called back in to post my availability three days later and was told that I was no longer working at Express due to that position; apparently I was "rude" and made disparaging remarks about the moving company employees. You know, the same ones I was laughing and joking with in the truck without a hint of abrasiveness (the last thing I said to my crew lead was a remark about how tough those guys are for doing that job, at which point he laughed, clapped me on the back, and said he appreciated the comment; somehow I doubt these guys thought I was being "rude"). Not only is this quite literally a fantasy, but I wasnt even called and informed that they were done with me. When I attempted to find out what had happened, the Express manager told me "Well, there are always two sides to every story," and then quite literally hung up on me. For bonus fun, I reported every single safety violation at Farwest in a well-documented, well-written report to Express, including several actual photographs of OSHA violations. That was in July of 2013. I was told by someone in May of 2014 that not only is Express still sending people there, but that its still just as dangerous and people are still quitting due to safety concerns. Normally I dont leave lengthy, negative reviews on company pages given I understand that the actions of a few people are not always reflective of the company as a whole or even a particular branch. However, when the branch managers are hanging up on you and refusing to speak to you, your options become more limited. I will not recommend Express to anyone looking for work.

From late February to early August - Totally would have rated it at four stars. From Early September on, however, dropped down to two stars. Why? Let me explain. Im an associate at AWC (Auto warehousing company) in Vancouver. I like working three to four days a week, but not on Saturdays (I have prior engagements that I cant get out of). I made a decent pay, and stayed overtime occasionally. According to the yard lead at AWC, Express has been saying that Im unavailable, even though I was calling in saying that I was available. This has happened from the beginning of August to the beginning of September. They were sending me to the Columbian, which is fine for killing some time between jobs, but hardly worth the gas to even drive there. Finally, after realizing its a good idea to talk to the staffer I usually correspond with, Im finally getting calls for work. Its been spotty, at best. As of Monday (Oct 7th 2013), I havent. I cant seem to figure it out on my own. There seems to be a communication breakdown. I say one thing, it gets passed down to the yard lead at AWC as another thing. Im pretty close to just leaving the position, but I need the paychecks. I wish I was scheduled more, but I keep getting bumped when Portland people are in Vancouver or if they have a short list. Long story short, Express is a second to last resort. My experience has been mixed, but leaning to the slightly dis-satisfied side.

I just recently moved to the area from Michigan and seen a job posting from them so I went to the office on time. it was packed people were even waiting out side at first when I signed in there were 4 woman working a 5 th walked in a hour later and only 3 people were seen in that time out of five people one woman up front at the window was the only one helping people the one across from her was answering phone calls the woman that came in late was up set because another woman didnt take on her work load while she wasnt in the office but did she come in and get to work NOPE sat there painting her face. another woman sat there eating yogurt and another was just sitting in the back on her computer while the two up front decided to talk about there weekend while people are trying to get threw 2 and a half hour went by and still full building only 10 people seen I left angry if this company is so professional than they need too keep better service to the ones making or going to be making them there profit. worst Temp agency I have ever seen in my life I dont recommend this place what so ever the whole team needs to be evaluated and or replaced with personnel that can maintain a professional image

If you are looking for a job, this would be one of the last places I would go. I arrived early for my scheduled interview and was made to sit for an hour and a half until an associate deigned to see me. The associate was very snobby and treated me as if I was not worthy of sitting at her desk. After an hour of answering questions, I discovered that I had forgotten my social security card, and rather than simply let me return home to get it, my interview was canceled and I was told to leave, and that my application would be kept on file. The associates treated me as if I was somehow beneath them, despite the fact that I was better dressed and more well-spoken than many of the associates. It became painfully obvious, as I waited an hour and a half for my scheduled interview, that helping people find jobs is secondary to showing co-workers the newest youtube comedy video and dusting the bible quotes perched on desks.

Was offered a full time position and summoned in Tacoma to interview. Office is gaudy and PACKED at all hours. Staffers are petty, curt and nasty. The cute girl at the desk is nice but the recruiters are rude or completely nasty. I never got their names either. I didnt realize this until I went back into the waiting area and saw a guy walk in late. The whole office sounded like a war zone after that. I can understand them simply turning him away but the girl interviewing me really tore him down. This energy is too negative. Express has been okay elsewhere but this office doesnt deserve employees. The recruiters lack social skills and I overheard one of them say how they absolutely dont care about anyone coming in. This is a waste of everyones time. AVOID!!

I visited this agency for the sole purpose of acquiring a certified typing test. I was treated with extreme rudeness by one of the receptionists although I arrived with a friendly, professional attitude. It makes me sick she has a job when others who would treat clients with common courtesy and decency are unemployed. Two other employees witnessed how she was speaking to me, and one intervened on my behalf, but I did not have the impression the rude woman was going to be counseled or experience any type of consequence concerning her behavior. Needless to say, I do NOT recommend this business and will never darken their door again.
