Rude, Rude RUDE!!!!!!!! Worst customer service I have ever dealt with! In there with my 3 small kiddos, and have a package that I already paid for I just needed some tape because I ran out. She yells at me and tells me just a minute then tells me to go to the end of the line. Some nice lady (customer) gets me some tape. I try to hand her the package and she yells at me that she is busy so I I try to give my package to the other lady because Ive never been to this post office and wasnt sure where to set my already paid package. In battle ground Washington you just set your package on the counter and leave. when I go to hand it to her she also yells just a minute and tells me to go to the back of the line with 3 sick and tired kids. so I wait in the line and when I go up to the line I hand her my package no smile no nothing. I leave, All that just to hand them a package. If you hate your job that much then maybe you should quit.

I mailed a package which was a return of a product that was sent in error. It was from a company who charged my credit card $543.77 and the only way I would get my refund was when my package was returned. I mailed the package back from this post office on Hoyt in the Pearl District of Portland, Or on Feb 4th 2014. On march 31st, I still had not received my refund. When I checked the tracking #, I found out my package was never delivered and was lost. It showed departing out of Federal Way, Washington on Feb 5th and after that, it is lost. No return even tho I put my return address on it. The company never received and will NOT refund my $543.77 unlesss this package is found and returned to them. I am beyond upset. I sent the package Standard post and paid $16.08 to send. I pray that I will be refunded by the USPS for there loss of my return. This is unacceptable. I want my money or my package

As a long-time resident, Hoyt is my go-to for postal service. Its a high usage, downtown site: come earlier in the afternoon for shortest lines; the lines are longest near closing. The staff is friendly, professional, but under pressure to serve quickly since some self-centered folks want their custom-tailored service experience without waiting patiently for their turn. Hoyt Station is full service to all people in a large-ish city... be willing to engage your inner resources, or talk to a queue neighbor to pass the time. Have your stuff already packaged, dont expect the staff to ready your mind, be sober, leave the dogs in the car (windows down), be patient with ESL transactions, etc. Smile. These & similar expressions of patience have served me well. Finally, DO offer them your positive ideas to improve the customer experience. Well all benefit!

I have never had any problem at all here--or for any USPS branch, for that matter. They are always quick (limited, usually, by the customers), patient with my indecision as to which sheet of stamps to buy (sorry people behind me!), and even completely unfazed when I spilled my coffee all over the counter top! The USPS is one of our greatest and most under-appreciated institutions, providing some of the lowest-cost, fastest, and most-reliable service of any national post office--and usually better, IMHO, than the private sector competitors (even considering subsidies), all while providing such things as free mail for non-profits. And, it is a great unifier: The same stamp that gets a letter across town gets a letter delivered from the Florida Keys to the Alaskan Archipelago--or from Guam to Puerto Rico.

I am writing this review after checking their hours and reading several comments. It seems the one thing in common at most of the post offices in the Portland and surrounding offices is the the terrible, unfriendly and rude customer service that patrons receive. No wonder the post office is failing. Would a supervisor or someone in charge of the postal workers please read the reviews at the various post offices and clean house? Downtown Beaverton takes 1st prize having two of the rudest postal employees to customers. An older lady and a long haired gentlemen. They will find more reasons why your package is not mailable rather then help you mail it. West Slope post office has several of the nicest postal workers that are very helpful.

So far, a package I sent to my son from Bellbrook (Xenia), Ohio to his workplace in Portland OR, on July 17th, has not arrived as of August 5th to the Portland OR post office. At one point, it was in Portland, then they sent it to Federal Way Washington, 150 miles away!! (which I noticed that little side trip is now not on their tracking page) WTF?? The Pony Express could have gotten it there faster. He was told by the P.O. that the delivery man tried to deliver it twice, but thought the office building was uninhabited. Did he even try to check? Did he go to the door and try to open it?? I could have driven it there faster myself.

While trying to make some sense out of a problem I was having with tracking a package sent through USPS, I found I was expected to deal with a customer service rep who obviously is located outside of my country, cannot speak basic English, and is as intelligent as a plank. To every question I asked, to location of package he asked for the number -- if I asked if it would be delivered today - he answered yes -- if I asked if it would reach me by tomorrow - he asnwered yes. When I asked if it would be delayed - he answered yes. Yes seems to be the answer of the day -- or so we shall see. Frankly, customer service is a joke.

I dont usually write reviews, but these people were fantastic. I had to mail a package to Turkey, not something I have ever done before. The attendant was very enthusiastic and creative. She worked with me to run all the options, from fastest to most affordable, then worked with me to trim the weight on my package to reduce the costs by 50%. Im sure some of the people behind me in line were cursing the attendant for going above and beyond, but I certainly appreciate her effort. And by the time I was done, the line was gone because the other attendants were so efficient. Thank you for great service!

Undoubtedly the worst service of any post office weve ever used and weve lived in several states and cities around the country. A few of the clerks are very nice and friendly. Others, especially the Asian lady, are rude, unsmiling and not at all helpful. The main problem is the lack of clerks at any given time. There must be at least 6 or 7 stations and only 1 or 2 clerks working. And service is SO SLOW! The only time weve seen it otherwise is when there was a film crew filming. Suddenly every station was manned and all the clerks were smiling and helpful. A disgusting display of dishonesty.

I just moved here from NYC where the USPS motto is this: "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." This doesnt seem to be the case in Portland. Less than an inch of snow = no mail? I can get used to most cultural differences between here and NYC, but the shutting down of such an important service because of a few snow flakes is not one of them.
